Only giving one star for Dr.Ertel. Staff is so awful. They will make you feel embarrassed by asking a simple question. Please don't come here. They really DONT care about you at all! I went in last week to replace my lenses, (they were all scratched, I bought the extra insurance.), they looked at me like I was an inconvenience. They stretched out my glasses so much when putting in my new lenses that they don't even fit on my face anymore. I tried asking if they would fix them. In rebuttal, told me "oh they should fit your face better now since you are large. Excuse me!!!! Never ever giving them another dime! read more

I had been going to this practice when it was just Dr McDonald and Dr Chamberlain and they have added Dr's and staff since and the staff up front has a hard time adjusting glasses and my last pair it took me taking them in 3 times to finally get a Tech to say they was defective. Then they could not get the new pair adjusted right and said Danielle was great at adjusting them! Wrong! She let me leave there With crooked glasses and was very rude to me Telling me there was nothing else she could do and mind you these are expensive Rayban's Then when I've had quite a bit going on in my life the past few weeks including my Beloved dog Collapsing and under going a 3 hour surgery to find out she has cancer and Danielle Chastized me for canceling my appointment for that as well. I am not going to be talked to the way Danielle talks to me. I am not a person to tolerate poor customer service and glasses that now dig in the side of my head and leave marks. I will take this to whoever I need to at the state level at this point I'm So upset!! Stay away unless you want to be treated like your less than good enough when you have issues with your glasses and are going through a tough patch in life. Danielle thinks she is better than everyone else is the impression I get! She Is a very rude person! I just feel like she does not have any business being in Customer Service. I have never been treated so poorly by this practice in my life as I have recently by Danielle and some of the staff and they set up front and gossip about patients. My veterinarian for my dog even overheard Danielle speaking to me poorly last week. Again, this is unacceptable behavior. She's going to ruin their practice. Doctor McDonald and the staff are amazing, as soon as you walk in the door you are greeted with a smile. They are all so caring they call you by name and make you feel at ease. I have never meet anyone like Dr McDonald. He cares and gets to know you and your needs, I have been to other doctors that has never been able to get my prescription right but Dr McDonald take his time to make sure all of you needs are meet. My friend recommended me here and I'm so very glad! I generally dislike doctors and avoid going. However, this office is wonderful and has changed my mind. My former eye doctor was meh - he just rushed through the process and then shuffled me back to the waiting room to pick out frames. He never even told me I needed glasses. Dr. McDonald is the exact opposite. He was extremely upfront and kind. He was very patient throughout the entire exam, and didn't try to upsell or push any product. Scheduling is easy, and there's great availability. I can only do late afternoon appointments, which was not at all problematic here. The office is very nice, which also doesn't hurt anything. It doesn't feel clinical or sterile. I approve, and I will definitely be back. read more

Love this eye dr office. Everyone in my family went here the last several years. We moved across the country this summer & couldn't quickly establish a new eye dr due to Covid. My family of five has been seeing Dr.McDonald for about four years. We currently see him every 6 months! My oldest has seen at least four other eye care professionals, but NONE came close to Dr.McDonald! From California to Kansas, he's the best! He sees all of us; aged 3-40! His kindness and compassion is shared by his staff! I'd give anything to have all doctors be just like him! And his staff! Going to the doctor wouldn't be such a chore, if they were all like him! Our quality of glasses, lenses, and contacts have always been superior to others! And! They taught my 9 year old how to use contacts better than I ever could have! I would drive from anywhere in the Metro to see him, and his staff. That includes Dr.Chamberlain! This is absolutely the best eye care facility in the Metro! AMAZING service. I went to Dr. Chamberlain because I saw that she was a K-State grad like me. Well that seemingly silly reason to visit a business lead me to having a great experience. She was so nice and the rest of the staff were educated and so friendly. An assistant (petite, blond hair),helped me pick out my glasses and I felt like she was really trying to find ones that looked good on me rather than ones that were the most expensive. She was honest and told me when one style didn't look the best on me. I will definitely go back the next time I need a check up, new glasses, or new contacts! read more

I have been a patient here for 10 years. I can honestly say that all 10 years have been a great experience. The first thing you notice is how friendly the staff is when you walk in the door. They are very personable and eager to help. Getting glasses and eventually contacts for my youngest daughter was a better experience because of the staff working with her to show her exactly what to do and let her practice putting in her contacts. Dr. McDonald is the doctor I have seen all these years. He is always very kind and asks about the whole family (who are all patients of his). I like others really like the Doctors at this location! Front staff is rude, and seems to be put out when doing simple things like make appointments, and answer questions. I will say that having my prescription wrong 3 times, and then being told it's my fault for picking out the wrong frames. Is a tad unnerving. I naively thought that I in fact had picked the wrong frames, and just continued to wear my 7 yr old glasses. They gave me the option to switch out my frames, but not before taking my old glasses and leaving me practically blind for two weeks while they sent them in to see why my new lenses were so different from my old. The verdict! My frames had a different curvature then my old ones and so therefore made my lenses appear to be over corrected. My gut said that was unlikely, but none the less I trusted them. So.. I left it at that, and hoped to just get another pair of frames this year that might work better. Mind you the frames I use currently are fairly similar to what I picked out, but I digress. It was only after my husband Took in his frames that he bought from them to be replaced, or repaired. They said they could not repair his frames due to the screw being lodged into the frame. They proceeded with getting him new frames, and the only ones they had in stock was a different color. He wasn't thrilled, but he decided that was OK to get them back faster. After waiting a week he called to find out if his frames were going to be ready soon. They told him that they had not sent in the different colored frames. They were going to order him the current color that he was already wearing and told him he needed to wait another two weeks. After waiting two weeks. He gets in the current color of frames he was wearing. Everything seem to be fine. He wasn't thrilled about the three week wait and, not getting a phone call back to let him know what they were doing. Sometime after with closer inspection found out that they had glued his frames together drilled a new hole and put in a new screw. Which honestly would've been fine. Had they told him they were going to repair them,but after three weeks no phone calls no nothing I see that as pretty shady. It's not even a nice repair. So with that they have lost five patients. read more
