I wish I could give the experience 5 stars, but one of the associates was unfortunately very rude to us in a very uncalled for manner and it tainted the experience a bit, as well as the shop allowing a customer to paint very visibly phallic and lewd images on their piece while children were present in the shop. Well this is fun!! Who doesn't love relaxing with some paint, brushes, creative thoughts, good music & great company??!! We have painted many times, but 1st time at Eye Candy. We love Duluth, GA & this is right in the heart! Plenty of street or lot parking. Most, if not all free! Stroll on in, no reservations, but... there may be a wait list. Lots to do while you wait around the area. Shops, restaurants, outdoor seating. Many choices, all prices! Seasonals, basics, ornaments, etc. Pic your piece, choose paint & tools, settle in for a while. I understand you can bring your own bevies (adult too), but know there is not a lot of space when everyone is working. It's sort of tight in there! Staff is so nice & will help answer all questions. A really fun experience and very reasonably priced. It was packed when we stopped by Saturday afternoon (unfortunately no reservations). The staff was very attentive despite it being a busy night. They stopped by our table to refill paint and provided extra brushes per request. The paint station with all the paint and brushes was also neatly organized. If you're looking for something fun to do, I recommend stopping by eye candy art studio. My friend and I came here two weeks ago to paint pieces that we chose and then came back to pick them up today. We loved our experience! The finished product came out a lot better than we anticipated. The items came out very colorful. There are lots of items to choose from that you can paint and plenty of paint colors. My only suggestion would be to possibly provide some more thinner paint brushes in addition to the thicker ones that already are there. It was kinda difficult to paint the small areas on our items. But still there was a lot of paintbrushes to choose from and it worked out just fine. The space inside the art studio is warm and inviting, and the workers are very friendly. Had such an amazing time at Eye Candy Art Studio! I was here as a part of an event so we were in their bigger space but they also have a walk-in studio located in the heart of downtown Duluth. I would definitely recommend you drop by and check this place out! It's perfect for an outing with friends, as a date or even a solo adventure. I personally found the experience very therapeutic. Super cute little studio located in downtown Duluth. Super cute location - there was a theater across the street, food truck, stores and a little playground. Limited street parking. Luckily I went on Sunday so I didn't have to pay. The studio was soooo cute. The worker was nice and gave us the overview of how to do things. Gave us time to look around and select our pottery piece to paint. The items were very detailed and prices ranged from $18 to $80 (was the highest I seen). Of course the bigger, cuter items were more expensive. They had some holiday pieces too for Christmas and Halloween. I went with my kids. After selecting our pieces we were told how to get our paint and free to paint. We didn't feel rushed or hovered over. The kids had a blast and I did too. Afterwards you pay. And they'd text you when it was ready to pick up within 2 weeks. They did have 1 bathroom to use. And outside the store - canvas paintings - I guess items people had completed and didn't come get was out for sale. For 3 items our total was $75. I'd recommend for something different to do - solo, family, fate night etc. read more

A cute little pottery painting shop located in the heart of downtown Duluth! We didn't make reservations (2 people), just walked in and wanted to have some fun art time. Staffs were attentive and answered all of our questions. They also offer wine glass + canvas painting and I saw some people brought in their own alcohols so it's BYOB i think (just double check again with them). They have a variety of pottery selections for you to choose from: ornaments, cups, plates, decor items, etc. Prices vary depends on the pottery figure that you pick: ranging from $10 to around $100 (highest price that I could remember). Ours were $28 for the plate and $26 for the mug. They have those Xmas trees that they will attach lights into them for you after glazing (a little bit on the pricier side, maybe $50-80 but I think it's gonna be worth it!!!) Paint fees are already included and come in unlimited amount of fills (some special types of paint would cost $3 extra but I think their basic options are already good!). You would paint your item, leave it there for them to glaze and come back in 7-10 days to pick it up. I think the idea is really cool and this place is a wholesome date spot, family/friends hangout! We came on a new year's eve weekend (as a couple date) and we saw many parents taking their kids there, other couple dates and friends hangouts. Will definitely come back to for those Xmas trees one day. Eye candy art studios is truly one of my favorite shops on this planet! All of the employees are so kind, helpful & hard working. My boyfriend & I had the pleasure of coming in on multiple occasions & we painted an adorable snail shaped pot plus a few ornaments for Christmas & we could not have had a better experience. They have so much unique pottery to choose from, as well as an option to paint canvases if that's not your vibe! I really can't recommend this place enough... plus you get to support a small business! The location is also wonderful & there's lots of restaurants nearby if you want a snack between painting! I am ONLY giving this Art Studio 3 stars because the Yelp page and website are very misleading regarding the pricing of the actual pottery. They say the average price is between $18 and $40. This is very misleading unless your intention is to come in to paint something very small. If you want to come in to paint a mug, a small box or a plate or something like this then plan on paying between $30 - $50+. Like I said, this is the only reason I give them 3 stars. I came in with a budget and ended up spending probably 30% more than I planned. I had 2 girls with me who were very excited so going home was not really an option. The service and instruction was excellent as well as the color choices and materials. Their willingness to help was also very good. For that I give them 5 Stars. read more

I took my 9-year-old daughter here when visiting my parents from out of state. We both loved the experience! The selection of pottery to paint was much larger than a similar studio back home in California. The staff are very friendly and helpful. In addition, the location in quaint downtown Duluth is LOVELY. We happened to go on an afternoon when a summer concert was going to happen in the evening, so we got treats from a few food trucks and watched the band warm up after we painted. read more

My friend likes art and I wanted to do an art related activity with her. She loved it so much. The staff was very helpful and informative but also concise. It was a busy day and they managed the seating well. All of the paint bottles were at least half full and I loved the variety of colors, brushes, items to paint, etc. I also loved that no appointments were needed and you could stay as long as you wanted. Hands down the best place to paint your own pottery! The owner, Ashley, is very sweet and personable! We found this studio in November of 2013, where we had my daughter"s 12th birthday party. We had such a great time, so much so, we had her 13th birthday party here as well. I've since held a bridal shower here and have painted every ceramic owl and cat that comes through her doors. I first noticed they had a cute personalized sign by the front door (and in our party area) welcoming my daughter and her guests in! Yes, the space inside is small but the area they designated for our party was in the back and perfect for us (Total of 7 kids). Chelsea contacted me ahead of time to get all the party details and answer my questions. She was super helpful, kind, and wonderful with the kids! My daughter and her friends loved every moment and even though one of the parents was late picking up their child (they close at 6pm on Sunday), we never felt rushed to leave. This is a cute pottery/canvas painting shop tucked into the Main Street of downtown Duluth. We had a wonderful afternoon with a large group of moms and kids, just painting pottery, having lunch, and hanging out. This place has a very straightforward format. Select your piece of pottery first, and the price marked on the bottom includes paint. After choosing your piece, select your paints, brushes and sponges, stencils, etc. and find a table to create your masterpiece. One of the moms called in advance to let the owners know there would be about 9 kids and their moms, and we had a large table in the front for ourselves to paint, and bring sandwiches/chips/drinks to have lunch while we worked. The prices are very reasonable, considering that paints are included and you aren't rushed from your spot. I even splurged for a $3 special crystal paint. The pieces are fired and you receive a call to pickup in about 7-10 days. I also learned they will ship your pieces anywhere. We will definitely come back! read more

We came on a Sunday morning right when it opened and were the first customers! So we had the whole place to ourselves and had great service. The instructions was detailed and lots of types of paints and colors were offered. Brushes, stencils, sponges, they have everything. They have all sorts of pottery- plates, cups, ornaments, seasonal specials, small animals, piggy banks, the list goes on. After we paint it, we just leave it on the table and the staff takes care of it, including cleaning. It was such an easy and relaxing experience. We get our pottery in about a week. We are sure to come back! We purchased a mug for $14 all inclusive for painting etc. Also a small whale plate for $14. Fair pricing, worth the fun we had. read more
