As…read morethis was the first time for Tina to do my nails I noticed that she handled my hands very roughly and attempted to clean up under my thumb using a drill and tore the skin up causing it to bleed. She then administered anticeptic and the picked up clippers in her hand in an attempt to clip off the excess skin, when I told her to stop and said "no more cutting". She finished with my top coat and I told her in my 25 years of getting my nails done this was a first and that I was very upset and bit shaken. She replied that I had very sensitive skin (which has never been the case). I was offered no apology or discount until I called back to reiterate my disgust and expressed that I was experiencing pain in my thumb. Tina then offer me 50% off my next manicure, which felt was presumptuous and dismissive. This was on a Friday, and my thumb [although improved (treated with hydrogene peroxide, bactine and neosporin)], but remains sore and it is Monday. Also noteworthy was Tina clipping her own nails (as my nails dried) which I felt was unsanitary, unsightly & unprofessional. I will close by saying that I do not write this review lightly, but was struck by the lack of customer service, and standards that I had come to expect in previous visits with other technians. This was not the case for me, this time.

Also, when you put that many layers it makes it much easier to peel off because it is thick. You better believe the moment that it starts peeling, I will go back in and ask them to fix it and I won't be paying for the fix either.

I am very disappointed with both the initial quality of work and the lack of an adequate resolution.

I don't know. But let me tell you a little bit more about the decision you are about to make. My first ever waxer relocated to a whole another state and I was lost for sometime. I tried to become a regular for European Wax but their service and work did not mix well with me. I am currently located at #AspenHills #Rockville and I started looking for waxers. Wanting to find a place that feels like home and a safe space to be reborn every other 4-6 weeks. When I found Magdalen's page, the reviews automatically got my attention and decided to book being that she was 13-15 min away. The BEST decision I've made all year. When you enter, this particular smell that its so deliciously delicate welcomes you. Warning, in the beginning you will be confused and nervous because her method is so different from what everyone else is doing. But trust me when I say that it's less painful and more effective. I have thick hair and it grows really fast but after my first visit with Magdalen I noticed about only 60% of my hair growing back. Which is crazy for the amount of hair I used to grow with the other waxer. She warned me about growing less hair and less pain but you just have to book for the experience and for finding a home. I repeated several times that it was polygel but I guess they don't know what that is? They said they would be able to complete my service, however my beautiful nails were butchered. I asked for my nails to be reshaped to almond from square after the removal of my polygel several times. I didn't have time to go to my regular shop and this just so happened to be close to where I was shopping. By the time they were done my natural nails were paper thin and splitting and the guy was asking me what I wanted to do with them because their condition was so poor. I have never experienced anything like this before. I've had slight over-drilling at a few shops but my nails beds were red and feeling raw by the end of this appointment. They still hurt to the touch weeks later! Buddy was looking around half the time while drilling my polygel off and skipped on my skin. When it would start burning I would pull back or say something and he would just keep going in the same manner. Never again! When I left the shape of my nails were all uneven and absolutely not almond shaped. He did ask if everything was okay but at that point I just didn't want it to go more south so I just said yes and left. I can never come back to this place. They may be okay for a simple polish job but I wouldn't trust them with anything else. It has been a few weeks and my nails are still paper thin and raw. I had to try my best to fix the shape myself. Hopefully in a few months when the whole basin grows out, I'll be able to go to my regular place again.
