I broke my glasses and since it had been quite a while since my last exam I called to set up an appointment. The soonest I could get was two weeks out. When I showed up for my 9 o'clock appointment on July 16th. The doors were locked, lights were out, no other cars in the lot. At 9:20 employees showed up. When I told them I was there for my 9:00 appointment, she said they couldn't do an exam because there was no doctor today. Astounded, I asked if there was another store I could go to. She said the earliest was another two weeks out. Seriously? You can't get anyone in for two weeks, when they show for appointment no one is there, then when they do show up, they tell you they don't have doctors on fridays? I'm astounded. read more

I had my eye exam yesterday and needed further help getting a different contact prescription for the other eye. I had previously discussed this with Dr. Lutes trying one eye first, then finding out I did need the other eye to enhance reading. I called the office and spoke with "John". I really want to give a great salute to him for his outstanding help with this matter. He was very polite and knew exactly what I needed without hesitating. He was very personable with one of the nicest personalities anyone could want. He returned my call and said he had all the things I needed to accommodate the other eye and they would be ready at the front desk. Eye-Mart should be very proud to have such a great employee. The service and quality of this Eye Mart is absolutely horrible. I've been a customer for years and now nobody answers the phone and nobody returns your calls I had to drive to the store to get service. They were supposed to reorder contacts for me and never did. I want to say thank you to the staff at Eye-Mart for being so patient with my impatient 75-year-old Uncle. I would suggest you make an early appointment and go when they first open up. It is about a two-hour visit with an eye exam and glasses. They are understaffed but were training new people I was there with my Uncle. The doctor was very friendly and really made sure they did a full exam no matter how long it took my Uncle to read the eye chart. It is an about an hour wait to actually receive your glasses so we went to run some errands. The glasses were ready when we returned. read more

The office manager eventually told me that none of the staff, including her, has ever had any HIPAA training. When I got to go to a competent doctor, he couldn't believe my prescription could be less than a year old with how far wrong it was, let alone just four months. He got me new lenses that let me see 20:15, while I was still only seeing 20:50 with the "corrected" Eye-Mart lenses. I have never received any of my $292.04 back, despite having no contacts, incorrect glasses, and no successful vision or contact lens exams. As long as their myriad of commercials keep promising cheap prices, customers keep coming in, and they just don't care if the customers are happy enough to come back again. read more

I have utilized this particular Eye Mart previously years ago, and had received excellent service. However, this visit was less than desirable in service. The doc who performed the exam was good, made some recommendations for me. What made it a negative experience for me was, the staff stunk at customer service. One walks in and there's several gals standing around, one or 2 at the check in desk and they barely grunt "hello, how can I help you?" I fill out paperwork, wait for my exam. Then I go, pick out some frames I like in my price range and the staff is still just sitting around, talking, so I head towards counter and finally someone comes out to assist me. That goes ok, I pay for my glasses and am told it's about an hour and a half wait. Ok. I come back after waiting that amount of time only to find out my new glasses are STILL not ready, the machines that they use are down. I ask when to expect them to be ready. I get told "I honestly don't know." I could have and should have been called by one of the several gals sitting around doing nothing. I myself am self-employed and can't afford to block off time just to sit and wait and wait. They need to stop advertising that they make glasses in less than a day. read more

Staff are somewhat friendly. My complain is if they can read my insurance policy right, and do things right. I felt like they kept trying to rip me off. They charged me 25$ co-pay "material fee" when I was there for contacts. When I questioned her, she obviously did not understand the policy herself, and was going to have "someone" to talk to me. Well, "someone" never showed up. I paid the whole thing and left the place. I called my insurance, have my insurance company call them back to clarify it. I am still waiting for my money back, which they said they'll refund it. When they called me 1 week later to pick up contact lenses. They told me, the one that I ordered was not available anymore, instead, they ordered an other kind, another type of "one day moist Acuvue for astigmatism", which I have to pay 26.95 extra if I still want to keep the order. Of course NOT! I wasn't expected to pay more while I already over charged! I told her I can switch to different type of contact lenses, and get the monthly instead of daily, and returned rest of my money that I paid to cover "contact exam fee" which can be covered in my 120$. Of course she'll said "it's non-refundable". She did end up giving me all the contact lenses that I ordered without charging me extra. But this is not a good experience while you know you are right, and people look at you like you can't even afford 25 bucks?! I walked out there both time feel like crap. I was a customer there for three years. When I did get seen there, the doctor was attentive and informative. This weekend they but a hold on my insurance which prevented me from having an appointment with a competitor. I found myself in need of prescription safety glasses for my new job. I went there last week on a friday and I was told that they were full for walk-ins that day. I asked them to pencil in an appointment for me (the following Wednesday) and to give me a business card, because I was going to try and get an earlier appointment elsewhere. I went to Lenscrafters in the mall on Sunday and they were able to see me. I filled out all of the paperwork and was moments away from getting my exam when Lenscrafters tried to authorize my insurance. They said it was 'blocked.' The young lady at Lenscrafters tried calling the insurance and was told that there was a authorization hold placed on Friday. Eyemart is closed on Sundays, but one of the Indiana locations was open. They couldn't release my insurance. I called the insurance company directly and was told that I would have to have the authorization removed by the originating people. When I called Eyemart today, they didn't even apologize. They just said that Lenscrafters was lying and that all they had to do was call. This is not accurate, as both Lenscrafters and I did call the insurance, with no success. read more

Completely unprofessional and will never return to an Eye Mart. I had to drive 30 minutes there and 30 minutes back to my house on my day off to be treated like crap. I call as soon as the store opens at 9 am and ask if I need to make an appointment, they say no that won't be necessary. I walk up to the front desk and there are 6-7 women behind there , and all but maybe one made eye contact with me. It took every bit of 20 solid seconds of awkward silence and workers staring at me, standing around doing nothing for someone to finally ask "how may I help you?" She then asked if I had an appointment...umm no, you guys said I didn't need one. I then obtained the proper paperwork and sat down to fill it out. An older women walked in as soon as I sat down and she was greeted with a proper greeting when you walk into a place of business. I hear the lady going over the paperwork with her and at the end she tells her that it will be a 45 minute wait. Wait a second. There was not a single person waiting in the lobby besides us. Why was I not informed of this wait time? Why was I not greeted properly? How come when I called and asked about the appointment, she didn't just go ahead and schedule an appointment rather than telling me I don't need one? I will pay the extra money to go see my optometrist where I know I will encounter employees who actually care about their clients well-being read more
