One of the worst places for eye care. They do not keep their time. Do not call back when the contacts or eye glasses have come. Had to call multiple times to follow up when the contacts have arrived. Each time a new person takes the call and it takes a long time for them to understand for what we were calling. More over, they are very rude on the phone to my daughter and myself. Gina was very rude, unprofessional, and used filthy language to my daughter. She doesn't have basic customer service skills and gets argumentative with the customer. I would fire her on the spot if I were her manager. The optometrists do not care about what is happening at the front desk; so the customers suffer and possibly do not return because there is nothing to come back for. I would never go there nor recommend anyone to go to this place. There are dozen a dime optometrists. Please check for the right ones. read more

I came to get my fiancées lenses under warranty, he had switched the frames but they were quick to switch them back but when I came back they told me it was going to take a couple days to do that. I'm pretty sure they just didn't want to do it. Not coming back, I do not recommend. Something so small to make a customer happy but they'll rather loose one. read more

Had to call them up multiple times to follow up on trial lenses that I haven't received yet up to this date. Initial appointment was in December and it's already February. I would not recommend this optometrist due to poor customer service and misleading warranty information. They advertise a warranty on lenses, but what they don't clearly explain is that you must have a spare pair of glasses with your prescription to use it. If you don't, they require you to send in your entire frames, leaving you without glasses until the replacement is done. Even worse, they push you to buy a new pair of glasses just so they can replace the warranty lenses on your old ones. On top of that, the staff -- especially the ladies at the front -- are rude and condescending, acting as if you haven't already spent your money there. This policy is extremely inconvenient and feels more like a sales tactic than genuine customer care. read more

I have been coming to this location for over 5 years at this point. I have not had any issues with scheduling an appointment and their service is great and pretty quick. The manager Gina always provides excellent customer service. They have a great variety of glasses selection, but some of them are higher priced, more than I would personally like to spend. I mainly wear contacts so I usually repurchase a pair of Tom Fords every other year. You can probably find a good priced deal somewhere else. I love getting everything done in one visit but they provide you glasses and contact prescriptions so you can have your exam there and buy elsewhere if needed. The doctors are super friendly and are always open to answering questions. I would recommend this place. read more

First, I was saddened to hear Gerry was no longer there :( But the service still remains awesome! I went to pickup my glasses and this time opted not to get a retest of my eyes as my script was still good for one more year. Even though I went over my allowance they gave me a discount applied to the overage of the amount. Gina was very awesome! She made sure my glasses were to my satisfaction which they were. They are Oakleys and they are a much thinner frame but I like them. One other thing, my husband was not able to be with me do to being home bound in his bed but Gina took the time to allow my husband to chat with her on FaceTime on my phone about his insurance. I appreciate how she went above and beyond to make this accommodation. Next year I'll find more awesome Oakley's with my insurance but until then thank you Eye Spy and Gina for being awesome as usual. read more

Eye Spy carries a wide variety of brands from Tom Ford and Cartier, however they have an insane markup. Beware that most of the glasses they carry are for people with a bigger face and only a small selection for smaller faces. I purchased my Tom Ford glasses here which came out to about $320 for the frames and high end lenses due to my insurance, otherwise the frames were $415 alone. Once it was ready for pickup the sales associate didn't even sit down to try and make sure they are properly aligned and needed adjustment. I can't recommend Eye Spy as there are many other shops that will take good care of their customers at an affordable cost. read more

Left my oakley prescription glasses 3 weeks ago for 2 loose screws. They could not fix it on the spot and told me to come back the next day . Came back the next day they could not even find my glasses and they gave me all kinds of excuses. The manager said they had to order me new glasses so i figured they misplaced it. Left it in a hard case, when i picked it up they said i cant get a case now but when i left it with them 3 weeks ago its with the case. Very frustrating service and disappointed. Tried to set up another visit again this week, the number always no answer, rude lady called back and left me msg and I called back, left msg to confirm the time slot. Asked to call back to confirm if ok. No one call back for half day. Been going here since 2010 and all doctors are nice, friendly and easy to ask questions about any issues. The staff are easy to work with when asking about your insurance coverage. Located in an easy place of Southland mall. Very nice store. They offer a great selection of fashionable and branded glasses that are better then LensCrafter's cheaper glasses. I would never recommend this place to anyone. My family has been loyal customers for years.Gina was soo rude and unprofessional. I totally forgot my appointment for Dec 28th at 10am. Yes they called me for a reminder. I have a 4 year old daughter on winter break while I'm still working a full time I totally forgot. I asked if I can reschedule for me ans my daughter and instead of doing that she rudely told me I should pick a different provider. She has absolutely no customer service and should be fired immediately. I don't see how she can be a supervisor with no understanding when someone forgets an appointment. Please do not go here they got a rude supervisor with no customer service. She needs to watch how she speaks to customers. I hope she gets fired for being unprofessional, rude and not understanding whenever someone needs to re schedule an appointment. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I recently had a check up here during COVID and they were taking safety precautions seriously. Making sure you washing your hands before seeing doctor and making sure all surfaces where cleaned and sanitized after each use. Very much appreciated. For the doctor she gets 5 stars but the staff who answers the phone she made this business a 1 star. I went to this establishment to have my eyes checked and a prescription for contact lenses. After a week and a half I call to ask about trial contacts that the doctor was supposed to have ordered. No phone call, no follow up. I calles them and the lady who answered was just so brash in the way she was talking to me and never heard an apology for dropping the ball of NOT ORDERING THE TRIAL CONTACTS! They always remember your name and are super pleasant!!! Especially Gina!! I would definitely recommend going to her. This place is so lucky to have her as an emoloyee. Although I am not too big on sales gimmicks and the extras, such as anti-glare and transition lenses... she recommended a few items that I thought I did not need. Not only that, but it has been almost a month since they tried to fix the order and still no delivery! They also have lunch until 3pm and keep their store closed until then. Came here for an eye exam a few months ago, staff was SUPER helpful - answered all my questions and helped me pick out some frames that were insurance friendly. The Dr was professional but also friendly, the exam was thorough and was able to get my prescription just right. she helped me understand eye allergies that I was having some problems with and gave me some sample drops to take home. I was a little hesitant coming here based on the mixed reviews. However I had a great experience. I already had a prescription so all I needed was eyewear. Justin was very kind, patient & helpful. He had other coworkers there busy helping other customers as was he but he was the only one that greeted me, checked in on me as I was waiting & apologizing for the wait. Once he was available he was once again was kind, patient & helpful. This was my 2nd pair so I wasn't sure what to get. The 1st pair I got from Kaiser & they suggested a metal frame which I dislike now. These new pair I got are perfect. I've been waiting nearly 2 years to get my high end sunglasses. At this point, after getting the run around on multiple occasions, and the manager refusing to return my calls, I am convinced that an employee has stolen them and that they are defrauding insurance companies. When I first went to pick up my glasses, the employee presented me with the wrong pair and told me that this was the pair that I chose, despite the fact that the store's own paperwork said otherwise. When the manager confirmed over the phone that the issue was resolved and my sunglasses were ready to be picked up, I went to the store only to be told that my sunglasses were not there and that the manager was waiting for me to tell her which sunglasses I wanted. What? Why would I pay in full and agree to process a claim with my insurance without selecting a pair of glasses? And what is even more suspect is that the store's paperwork, which clearly stated the pair that I ordered cannot be found. The optometrist at the store is excellent, but sadly, the retail store cannot be trusted. read more

So almost gave this Place a 2 or 1 star rating. The reason being was I waited about 4 weeks to get my glasses and found out that there were scratches on both sides of the lenses. Not noticeable on the naked eye but I can only see them when I wear the specks and it was just horrible, gave me headache because of it. Any how. The scratches wasn't their fault, sh*t happens. EyeSpy has been the Place where I used to get my specks back in late 90's and early 2k's and the serviced was always great, helpful, no issues with lenses, and the frames selections are phenomenal. And my recent visit still holds their rep in my opinion. Customer service is great: Joanne and Jeremy took care of the "said scratch lenses" no questions asked. Here's what makes this place worth the visit: + Super attentive and pleasant staff! + Not pushy with eye glasses or sales -- Justin who helped me was pleasant, patient and did his best to help me check out glasses within my price range. He also took the time to explain to me in detail all the perks of my insurance! + Easy to make appointments and they're very responsive over the phone-- Carlata called me, got me set up as a new patient and made me feel welcome. + Erika was the eye doctor who saw me and she worked efficiently and just made me feel so welcome! She was the only doctor in the place today and there were a bunch of patients, but I wouldn't have guessed it since I felt I had her full attention when she saw me. I had my eye exam and contact lens fitting with her. + The Place has a ton of high end glass frames at a good price too! Although, I didn't end up getting glasses since my prescription didn't change much. I am buying contacts for them, however. + One thing that made me smile was how I witnessed one of the staff teaching a patient how to put on contacts. I worked with Gina, Angelica, Camille separately to try and resolve an issue with my order for eyeglasses being delayed, and finally spoke to the manager Darren. I was appalled by the way that the staff treats people, speaks to customers, and by the poor training, lack of respect and lies that they are allowed to tell. I waited from 11/20 until 12/10 for my glasses which by the way one lens makes a loud squeaky sound!!!!!! to arrive when I was initially told they would be ready in "about 5-days", I was then told that I would receive $30 off for all of trouble and did NOT receive that discount either. I was told there was a delay in shipping my glasses due to Thanksgiving, then due to the weekend, then due to a back order on the frame (which was not the case), then lastly that the lab moved!!!!!!! what the hell? I talked with the manager Darren who was very unprofessional. He was NON apologetic about any part of the entire situation. After I explained how his staff put me in the center of an argument, in an awkward position, had not kept me informed, not met the promised deadline, and had caused so much confusion.... there was never even an apology offered. He agreed that he has issues with staff often, "especially Angelica" and still did nothing, it's no wonder his staff are such jerks when he's the model citizen for the office! NONE of the promises that ANY of the office staff made were kept and Darren stated "we don't owe you anything". I love the opticians who help me pick out my glasses. They're always patient and helpful in picking out frames. My only issue was how terribly slow the staff was in getting my prescription out to me! My optometrist gave me 2 prescriptions to try out for a week. After 2 weeks, I called in to finalize my final say in my prescription so I could go ahead and order my new set of contacts. Whoever I was talking to, they told me they were going to email it to me by the end of the day. Mind you, I'm a busy dental student going back and forth from the Bay Area so sometimes I forget things. Well I totally forgot about my prescription and I didn't realize till 2 and a half weeks later that they still never emailed or mailed my prescription to me at all. I went ahead and called and they apologized for the delay and got it to me later that day. I've worked admin at a dental office and I know how frustrating it gets when patients call in and they don't get replied or helped till over 48 hours later. Dr. Yee talked me through the exam, which I appreciate. The opticians are friendly and helpful. Angelica is my optician she is helpful and excellent in choosing the right frame that best suits my face. I will be back in the Spring to have her choose my sunglasses for me. read more

I started wearing glasses about ten years ago, and have seen my share of optometrists. This place stands above the rest. My doctor here is Dr. Victor Catanzaro and he's awesome! He explains everything in detail, minus all that fancy smancy doctor lingo. I swear this man was a comedian in another lifetime bc he's crackin jokes left and right. It makes going to the eye doctor a cool experience. I almost always fail the peripheral vision test here, but they always give me the benefit of the doubt. Thanks EyeSpy. Lol. Beware, the prices at this place can be quite steep. They do have a selection of frames that are "free" or in other words, covered by insurance. They have a good selection of frames here. I came here for my first pair of glasses and everyone there was really nice and helpful in helping me pick a frame that I liked. Once I ordered my glasses, they arrived in a little under 2 weeks. I ordered my glasses to be anti-glare but somehow the left lens had a smudge on the coating and I could see glare. I brought it back the same day and told them and they ordered a new pair of lenses while I got to wear the defective one. The new lenses arrived in a little over a week and they replaced the lenses on my glasses. Maybe because I'm not used to glasses but I found that my glasses are a little tight and pulls towards my face and leaves a mark on my nose and eventually that area starts hurting. I've come back to Eye Spy a few times and they adjusted the glasses for free each time. As long as you purchased the frames there, they will adjust the frames as much as you want. Really nice especially since I'm so new to glasses! Overall, this is a great Eye Glass place that has a great selection of designer frames and a staff that's great!
