I have been one of their patients for a couple years now. Their help in figuring out visual problems has been great, them being local is a tremendous plus. Dr. Bhakta helps well beyond her field of optometry, I find that visits and talks with her helped in me finding my own path as well. As a former molecular biology major, I felt lost trying to find my own path independent of others. Each time I come in, I always take a piece of her advice and it helps in understanding more about myself-- being able to see clearly both in a metaphorical and biological way. The staff here is wonderful. They are super helpful and polite. Their hospitality was always great when I went into the office to get my exam and get my contacts. The optometrist took care in ensuring I liked my new ones because I informed her about my issues w dry eyes. Mainly I wanted to write this review about how they went above and beyond to get me my rebate. So essentially, I dropped the ball and forgot to submit my $300 rebate within 60 days of purchase if my contacts. It just completely slipped my mind. I tried submitting it to Alcon anyways and I emailed Stratford Optometry about it to see if they could help me with the situation. Andrea gave me a call the next day, asking for confirmation number of my rebate claim, called someone at Alcon, called me back to let me know that Alcon wouldn't honor the rebate because it was too late. However, Andrea said she'd see if they was anything else she could do and lo and behold she called me back the next day saying that she spoke with a Alcon rep who agreed to help honor the rebate. Yayyy! That's $300 back to me. All in all, the staff here really care and I felt so thankful that Andrea pulled out all the stops to get me my money back. The glasses are overpriced, they quoted me an insane amount for the glasses and lenses after insurance. Almost 550$ or so from the original quote of 1000$ Plus they push you for extra eye checkups and then hand you the bill lat. It's always upselling with these people. I usually go to Costco, but during this pandemic I do not want to be in a place with so many people, plus I don't want to spend hours there for an eye exam and then have to wait to order my contacts. So I decided to call Stratford and I was quickly set up for an appointment. The clinic is very clean and the staff and doctor were really nice. Terrible! Read this before you get your prescription glasses made from here. 1 - I got my vision tested and then the glasses made. These were received after 2-3 weeks. I took them home and then observed some issues with it. It turned out that the lab in Texas made a mistake and it had to be resent to them for 2-3 weeks more. They did not have the efficiency to test it themselves upon arrival. There was an obvious axis problem. 2 - When I complained about the glasses, the receptionist tried her best to tell me that I should wear it for couple of weeks to get used to it. Save your time. I'm writing this review solely on the service from Kristina. What a superstar. This was my first pair of glasses and so navigating the process from trying to figure out benefits to choosing a pair of frames was new to me. I didn't realize finding "the" pair could be so tedious. I called around, visited many optometry offices and read Yelp reviews. You Yelpers didn't steer me wrong. From the time I called and spoke with Kristina, I could tell through the phone that she was warm, welcoming and willing to help. She invited me to come in and every step of the way, never hesitated to let me know she was here to help me. When I finally came in, she was SO patient with helping me try on frames, she made recommendations, and she was thoughtful in those recommendations really listening to what I wanted and what I was looking for. She didn't rush me, she didn't get annoyed one bit. I was annoyed with myself and my indecision! lol. But she maintained her disposition the entire visit. I was out of town when my glasses arrived. She made sure to follow up with a phone call even after an email was sent to me to let me know my order was ready. And when I couldn't pick up and asked if someone else could pick up for me, she was so flexible. We talked 30 mins before closing and I told her I would be sending someone quickly to make it in time before they closed. She told me to just let her know when they would be arriving because she was willing to stay after closing to accommodate. I mean, c'mon. Thank you for the stellar service Kristina! You are a shining star in these days of diminishing customer service. You are going to go far! And P.S. Once again, it is so great to have these people back open and it seems with even better care, considering COVID-19. Felt very safe and a new doctor, who although I absolutely love Dr. Bhakta, was equally caring, very informative and clear. Yes, they have a somewhat limit choice of frames, but they are high-end and excellent. I really appreciate that they have made sure my computer glasses are the safest, blue light reducing on the market. (You know those 12-16 hour days in front of screens). Lastly, it seems that you either live them, all 5's, or you don't, I have no idea how you couldn't but I suppose there are always those who will have something not work, and will complain. This is by far the best optometry center I have been to. I have been wearing glasses for over 10 years, and have never received as much information about my eye health before. The scans that I was provided helped address a problem I was unaware I had. Dr. Bhakti is very knowledgeable and truly cares for her patients. She made recommendations that had my best interest in mind, both financially and health wise. It was the first time I actually an optometrist educated me on my eyes and eyes in general in that much detail. Christina was very efficient in summing up the pricing for everything and going over the insurance and discounts. I didn't feel embarrassed asking for prices or just being open with what i wanted in with frames. She tried her best to help me find frames i was looking for. I had an amazing experience here at Stratford Eye Care Optometry from start to finish. I made an appointment late Friday evening, and needed new glasses for work ASAP. Christina contacted me early on Saturday morning, and I was able to come in the same exact day! Christina welcomed me, and she made check in and filling out the forms quick and easy. The wait was not long, and Dr. Bhakta was amazing! She was super sweet, informative, and professional. She is everything you would need as an optometrists. She answered all of my questions, and gave great advice. Christina was also very helpful with breaking down what my insurance covered, and she was so patient with me while choosing my frames. I got an amazing price on frames that I really love! I was able to get my glasses in just a week, and I am completely satisfied with the service that I have received from both Christina and Dr. Bhakta. I went to this place last Saturday with extremely high expectations based of all the reviews however , my experience was far from that. When I called to make the appointments for both my husband and I, i explained we have two children (4&9) that would not be getting seen but would be joining us. I asked if they were family friendly and the response I got was "Yes". My kids brought trains and were just playing on the floor there was NOT ONE other person in the lobby. They were not even loud. We arrived and everything was going well at first but then as I was getting examined the doctor excused her self from the room ( again , my kids were not being loud or anything , not sure what even prompted her) She had went to tell her assistant to tell my husband that to " keep your kids in this corner" and she pointed to where the chairs were. I didn't even know this occurred. She came back into the exam room and didn't mention a single thing to me. When my exam was finished and I went out to choose glasses that's when my husband told me he no longer wanted to be seen there as he felt the assistant was rude and he thought the place was family friendly. My pupils were dilated so I had to finish , even tho i was uncomfortable because my husband and kids were upset outside. I went through all the motions of choosing frames but the glasses selection is CRAZY SMALL AND LIMITED. The pair I chose I didn't love on top of my out of pocket was about 230 bucks and I've never paid that much before out of pocket with insurance. So i decided to pass on the frames and just get a copy of my prescription and go to a different place with more of a selection. So i paid my exam co pay and left and they said they would email me my prescription. I emailed them after my receipt from my visit came but not my prescription, asking for it along with my PD(the distance between your pupils which you need if you EVER or frames offline anywhere). However, we may provide the measurements with a service fee of $25, no appointment necessary. All opticals provide their PD measurements at the time of a purchase as well. Online retailers also reimburse up to $50 when you purchase glasses and provide to them your PD measurements. As always, please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns. For 5 years i was getting eye exams from Walmart and Costco and they have NEVER charged me a fee and always provided me with my PD even though I did not purchase frames with them. Now that i have insurance so I wanted to go to a different place which is why i came here. This place Super shady and fee hungry!!!! This place charged my insurance for this exam as well so I now can't get another for a year under my insurance so they should have to given me my PRESCRIPTION AS A WHOLE , i cannot order frames without my PD and she knew my business was going elsewhere so she made a big deal about giving it to me so this in my opinion was wrong. I will never go back here and I will not recommend this place to anyone. read more

Poor service and overpriced glasses. I went to get my eyes checked and ordered two pairs of glasses, that took for ever to receive. They didn't even call me to let me know that my glasses had arrived, until I called to ask, they pretended that they had just arrived. I Set up an appointment to go get them, my appointment was at 1:30 and the girl that was supposed to help me was at lunch, it wasn't until 2 that she returned I help me. My glasses were too big and to adjust them she left them all bended, $500+ pair of glasses, that by they way they forgot to remove the lab receipt and the receipt said they had paid $173 for I was charged over $500. I asked to get them progressive and they gave me a quote of almost $600 more to make them progressive. Ridiculous! Additionally, they don't even give you suggestions or ideas or even help you to select your glasses. I will never go back there and I suggest to everyone to do a good research before going to an optometrist. read more

I gave the office a call and Dr. Bhakta and Christina helped me with any questions I had about copays for my eye exam. During my eye exam Dr. Bhakta was very informative and very helpful. When it came time to choose my frames I had a hard time deciding There were so many styles to choose from that I really liked. So, that's where Christina came to the rescue! She helped me find the perfect glasses that fits my face and are really cute too. She made sure to do all she could to assist me. She has exceptional customer service! Went in for a routine exam where I thought they were going to tell me I had 20/20 vision then I would be on my way. Well, that wasn't the case. I can't remember the last time I had an eye exam, which I shared with the doctor. She did a great job of explaining the various elements of the exam and the purpose for each part. Sadly, it turns out that I need glasses, which brings me to my next part. Diana was extremely patient with me when it was time to choose glasses. She even provided a second opinion and offered suggestions for glasses to try on when she got a sense of my style. This is one of the best shops I've been to. They have good selection of frames & use lenses from Essilor. I have about 10 pairs of glasses & sunglasses. I tried getting cheap progressives online before I went into their shop. It's not worth it if your online glasses gives you headaches. I'm sure I could get use to them but why suffer. Christina & Dr. Bhakta where very detailed and explained everything to me. Christina actually knew about the newly released Transitions Xtractive mirror fish when I asked her. I was impressed. I got use to explaining it to other shops that I didn't expect her to know about them. I got two glasses from them but the gold mirror finish is really nice on my Ray Ban frames. Brought my adult son here who is developmentally disabled and on the autism spectrum for his first ever eye exam. This doctor and her staff are kind, helpful and compassionate. The doctor was very patient and committed to meeting my son's needs. She discovered he needed glasses. I worried after so many years without, and my son's disabilities that change to eye wear would be met with resistance. But the doctor and her staff approached him in such a way, that he looked forward to getting his new glasses, and now wears them every day. I cannot thank this doctor and her staff enough. We would never come to this place again. First of all, when we asked them if they accept our insurance they said yes. The sales lady didn't explain well how things work. I can say they have nice and signature glasses but who needs expensive one when you just need is reading glasses. So our insurance covered $200 for our glasses and we tried to pick one less than the amount. Well guess what by the time we get to the final price including the lenses we have to pay over $250 and then today they called us and letting us know that we have a co pay of $65. And we were like why didn't you let us know ahead of time ( this is 5 days later after our appt.) So to summarize how much it cost us (me and my husband) for everything it will cost us $600 which is ridiculous. We only paid $35 from our old optometrist. I don't even know why we even tried this place when all it does is took our money. So watch out for this place and their hidden charges. read more
