My work changed their insurance provider this year. I've been a Lens Crafters customer. It's all I know. I've been happy with the service but I know there's something better. I passed Eyecare on the Square plenty of times and was curious. Plus it's close to home which makes it convenient. I called and asked if they were accepting patients and my insurance. Thankfully they did. I needed an eye exam and new glasses. I made an appointment in the afternoon on a Friday. The staff were super friendly and helpful. My optometrist was Dr. Jonathan Burt. He was very patient and answered all my questions. I didn't feel rushed at all. At the end my eyes were healthy but needed an upgrade in my prescription. I opted for the progressive lenses. My insurance was able to cover most but at the end I was very satisfied with my service. It took 7 business days to receive my glasses. I have them now and I am slowly adjusting to the changes. So far so good. But I have 30 days and if it doesn't work, I can bring them back in for any changes I need. I'm glad I found this place and proud to support small businesses. I highly recommend Eyecare on the square. They definitely cater to your needs and make sure you are a happy customer. read more

Dr. Rose and Dr. Cartwright are great, but I've become increasingly frustrated with their office's inability to answer the phone and return calls. I have called multiple times regarding a contact lens fitting that I had earlier this week so that I can place an order, and no one has returned my call. Whenever they miss your call, your phone receives an automatic "text message," but it seems to be impossible to get anyone on the phone, and it was difficult to even make an appointment in the first place. This is such a shame, because the doctors themselves are fantastic and accommodating of all concerns. However, I would strongly recommend speaking with the office staff about these issues. read more

DO NOT see for dry eye. Fine for routine eye exams but will push countless dry eye products and, rather recklessly, countless dry eye procedures. Horrible bedside behavior. Will not help you should you experience pain following such a procedure. They are friendly and I love their staff, but they are NOT DRY EYE SPECIALISTS. Dr. Cartwright, the sprightly and hyperattentive optometrist who owns Eyecare on the Square, takes optometry to the next level. I adore her as a person and a doctor, and respect her concerted effort to make every patient's experience a memorable one. I get it, my eyes suck. Two astigmatisms, glasses thickness equal to the depth of a kiddie pool. I came for a contacts fitting and Dr Cartwright had me in and out in under thirty minutes. I waited no longer than five minutes to see her, and I was a tad early at that. Long gone are the days taking four hours off to see that doctor! She walked me through every step of the eye exam, which (if you've ever had an eye exam before you'll know) is very much appreciated. You know that annoying part of the exam where the doctor shoots a bullet of air in your eyeball? I unfortunately didn't get to reexperience that visceral feeling (sarcasm). High fives all around. And the office is immaculate. CSI won't find a fingerprint in this office. And take off your shoes when you arrive! Kidding, but the floor is really clean. All doctors should be like Dr. Cartwright. I've been around my bad eyes my whole life and this was the best appointment I've ever had with an optometrist. 2018 I switched to Eyecare on the Square along with my DD and DS. The service was great- although a little pushy with frames and "extra" retinal (?)images. However,next visit (2019) I noticed very little in the way of customer service from the frontline office staff. Mixed up appt dates, long waits on a call back, poor appt. availability, texting me? instead of calling, then no replies to my texts. 2020- forget it, I am over it. No one ever answers the phone, messages are NOT returned. My DD had to physically go up there twice to 1.) make an appt and 2.) follow up about status of her Rx. I am baffled that a medical office can be run this way. While Dr Rose and Cartwirght are nice clinicians, they need to know that their front office staff and reachability extremely poor (especially in an age where we have email, phone,text, and chat. As a health care provider- I find this unprofessional and unacceptable. My DD,DS, and I are now leaving.P.S. While they could never manage to return phone calls or respond- they were constantly uploading to FB and Insta. read more

The office is beautiful. Seriously, it's epic pretty. The location is amazing (Mariemont Square? Yes, please!). The easy parking around back. The Doctor- amazing!! Dr. Cartwright is Happy, upbeat, and welcoming. The customer service is stupendous. Jen was delightful and engaging. The eye exam was thorough, and comfortable. I've taken myself and my child. I've recommended friends & coworkers; its that good. The experience, was pleasant, pleasing. And well orchestrated. If you're looking for an optometrist - you should go. I usually dread a trip to the doctor, but going to Eyecare on the Square was quick, painless, and (dare I say it?) fun! Everyone in the office was so friendly and polite, and I was in and out of my appointment in 30 minutes. Dr. Rose was knowledgeable and personable and she answered every question I had. Having lived with 2 of them for over 34 years, I like to think I know a few things about eyeballs, and Dr. Cartwright puts my eyeball knowledge to shame. Not only is she knowledgeable, she's attentive and caring. She's the Mother Theresa of eyeballs. She is to eyeballs what Jane Goodall is to gorillas. As the parent of an autistic child, it becomes something of an ordeal most times to get him to cooperate during doctor's visits. This is in large part due to the manner in which he is treated, the rotation of medical personnel that are assigned to him, and the environment that he's subjected to. At Eye Care on the Square, various members of the staff introduced themselves to my son in order to establish trust, and addressed him in a manner that wasn't intimidating or terse. Any and all procedures were explained directly to him in ways that he was able to comprehend, and every effort was made to put my son's mind at ease that they were new friends that were there to help him. Each member was exceptionally courteous and friendly, and the facility has a sleek, modern look that helped to calm my son. He tends to become over-stimulated with a multitude of bright colors in his surroundings. In summation, I could not have been happier with the experience that we had at Eye Care on the Square. In my experience, it's something of a rarity to find a medical office that left me feeling confident that I've made the best possible choice for my son's health. I was very impressed with Eyecare on the Square and with Dr. Cartwright, Stephanie and Catherine. They basically made room for me in their busy schedule to see me. Their office is easy to get to and is a very modern and up-to-date facility with very modern equipment which I liked. Each person took special care with me and made me feel welcome.
