I walked in today with my eyeglasses. They had stripped screw that would no longer stay secure. The young woman at the reception desk greeted me. I asked if they did small repairs. She said they could and took my glasses off to a counter a few feet away. She spent several minutes Trying to install the little screw that I brought her.she then tried to tweak the little hinges on the frames themselves and then brought them back and said she was sorry she could not take care of it. She recommended I take my Columbia glasses to the Oakley store since they sell Columbia glasses there. I asked her if she knew any nearby but she did not. I said thanks and I took my glasses over to Kaiser Permanente where I purchased them. When I got to Kaiser I explained to the person working at the counter that I could not get the screw in anymore as it was stripped and they said they could take care of it for me. Iopened up the glasses and handed them to a technician who pointed to the hinges and asked what happened. While the young lady at eyeglass world was working on them she crushed the hinges together with the needle nose pliers she was using, (where the screw goes into and the arm) would no longer fit in place. I was told they could try to fix them but there was a great possibility that it would fall apart and be ruined. The tech at Kaiser worked on them for about 15 minutes and gently was able to pry the little hinge open far enough to be able to get the arm installed and a new screw which was tapered in place because of the threads being crushed by the pliers. It is my fault for not looking at my own glasses before I walked out of eyeglass world but I really wish that the person working there would not be so deceitful as to Damage my property and then hand them back to me with a smile and recommend I go somewhere else. For this reason I cannot trust this company, specifically this location to work with my property or earn my money and respect. read more

I came in here after having a rough experience at another store. Wow what an experience. Everyone was was welcoming and friendly. Victor and Amanda helped me find my Third Pair of glasses that Tia the district manager was helping me out with. I told Tia the wrong store too!! I told her I was going to santee and accidentally came to El Cajon. I am glad I did because I found the perfect pair of glasses and had fun doing it. Victor was very helpful and knew exactly what I was looking for. He let his personality show and made me feel like one of his friends. I'm usually very patient since I work in customer service, specifically management but i won't be coming here ever again. I went in on a Wednesday and was told my glasses would be ready by Friday. I went in to be told sorry they're not done. Nobody called to communicate with me and save me the trip. They insisted they'd be done by Saturday at 11 am. So I sent my mom in to grab them for me. Again ZERO communication, and another wasted trip. Now we have the holiday weekend and they claim they'll be ready Tuesday. I'm very irritated because I can't even drive without my glasses. I went here thinking it would be quick since mine are all messed up and scratched. All they say is I'm so sorry and I understand. I spent over 200$ to have my glasses ready to go within a few days and now it's turning into a week. They also said they can't fit mine in to be done sooner because they have other orders. But I don't understand why mine can't be made instead of someone else's order who ordered them AFTER ME. Extremely unprofessional and offered zero in return to compensate me for waiting so long. There are so many optical shops in the SD area. It's just plain hard to decide. I bought a pay of Ray Ban glasses and received a second pair, prescription Ray Ban sunglasses for free ...! And I chose wisely when we I signed up for the extended warranty program, as I broke the frame on my eyeglasses and they replaced it no questions asked ... and the staff is welcoming and polite. I went to eyeglass world for my glasses. Now I'm hearing that I paid way too much money. I was charged $484.00 for a pair of eye glasses. The frames started out at $99.00. Supposedly with lenses. I added progressive and transitions to the lenses. Then I believe they tricked me because they said the glasses would be close to $700.00. But with my VSP insurance dropped it down to $484.00. I am new at buying glasses. Everyone I talk to who buys glasses. Said I was taken advantage of. I was in Eyeglass World in El Cajon and in dire need of an adjustment for my aging prescription eyeglasses (which I did not purchase from EW, incidentally). I wasn't expecting much, but Mayra went well above and beyond my expectations. I am a letter carrier for USPS, and the frames take a real beating out on the street. While they did have a better selection of their bargain frames than Stanton they didn't have the frames I wanted Stanton had the frames I wanted but not lenses at a price I was willing to pay. I did find a couple pairs that were ok. Autum was friendly yet proffessional. I had to make two trips to get my glasses as only one pair was ready. I would rather waited till second pair was ready to pick them up. Overall not a bad experience The place was clean well organized had a good but not stellar selection of glasses. I'm a person that likes to keep several pairs of glasses on hand. Partly because I don't like to wear the same glasses every day and partly because I like to have a spare in case my main frame is lost or broken. I was able to find two frames that I liked although not what I was wanting. I recomend Eyeglass World if you're looking for inexpensive additions to your eyeglass wardrobe and aren't Super Sellective AND you dont mind making a second trip because one pair wasn't finished. I have to say I received the BEST customer service from Lynn at Eye Glass World! I had lost my only pair of glasses off a boat the day before and was in dire need of a new pair immediately ( my nearsighted vision is over -5.0 lol ). Not only was she able to get me a deal on two new pairs for a great price she had them ready for me within a few hours! She also helped me email and print my existing prescription from AZ in the store while I had to sit on a Zoom Call for work. Her customer service was outstanding and she was so nice and helpful, definitely relieved the stress I was feeling about having to get high strength lenses in such a short amount of time. Great customer service. I had bought a replacement pair for a pair of sun glasses that I have and took them in to see if they would take the lenses from my broken pair and put them in my new ones and they were more then happy to help. They helped me right away and within 3 mins the young lady was done and didn't even charge me for the service. I will be going back with a new pair to order my prescription lenses from them directly. This location will scam you. Do not give them your business. I went in for an eye exam and at no point did any of the staff take the time to explain the charges prior to providing me service. I requested an eye exam and told them I was interested in contact lenses. Mind you, the year prior I had a contact lens fitting and there was no charge, so I was under the assumption that it is part of a regular eye exam. During the contact lens fitting, I explained to the Doctor that the contacts he had me try made my vision worse and he told me that I just need to get used to them. I insisted that it was the wrong prescription and he then agreed and let me know the prescription I did need was unavailable and would take a month to order. When I went to leave they then told me the contact lens exam would cost an additional $60 dollars or so (my typical eye exam is covered under my insurance). It would have been nice to know prior to having them provide this service. Very unethical and misleading. I spoke with their manager Ebony , but unfortunately she was unable to right the wrong and waive the charge. I will not be coming back to this location again. Employees should advise customers of charges PRIOR TO providing a service. This is a no brainer. Do better eyeglass world. read more

Recently visited Eyeglass World to get some new lenses put in my eyeglass frames. I walked in and was greeted by Autumn, she was very nice and helpful. She told me that she would have to order in my lenses from the lab and it would take about 12 days. She called me when the lenses came in and I gave her my frames. She called me the same day and said they were finished. I went and picked them up. I put them on and was on my way. Very easy pleasant experience. I will definitely use these guys again. This place is awful, I went in for a pair of eyeglasses, I showed the guy my dual insurance coverage, he kept insisting that I had very little coverage and It just didn't sound right, long story short I ended up with a pair of glasses that I was overcharged for by 128.00 dls, when I went to pick up my glasses I called the insurance in front of them and they realized that what I was telling him was true , even though they didn't apologize, eyeglass world said they would reimburse me directly into my bank account, they wouldn't give me cash even though my debit card had cleared , so after four days nothing was deposited into my bank account , I called my bank and they filed a claim , by the way when I went to pick up my glasses they forgot to put the transition that I had ordered, I had to leave my eyeglasses for an extra amount of time! Even though I had to take my glasses back to get the lenses corrected (they put in a slightly wrong one), they did fix them I mean, everyone makes mistakes - even you, right? I love the ophthalmology dept. they've been helping me get my bifocal contacts right for over a year - that's not their fault, my eyes just suck! When I came in later that day I was looking at the frames & then Mayra approached me asked if she could help me with anything or if I had any questions . Bad experience/practice. Buy Oakley sunglasses, ask to have them fitted with prescription lenses as well. Glasses come back, no original Oakley lenses - same charge for frame. Manager is rude, and obviously ignorant. If I pay $210 for Oakley frames with lenses, then add prescription lenses to be made, gladly pay the upcharge. It seems like they're always closed. I got called to pick up my glasses and when I arrived they were closed, with no mention of closing early when they called me. I've been without my glasses for days now because I can't seem to catch them when they're open. I have a strong prescription and can't work or drive without them. Very inconvenient.
