Best protect yourself AND hold onto your wallet. They don't know how to bill OR to communicate. I had to intervene several times to get my bills corrected -- not only at the billing dept level but at the front desk level -- they tried to bill me for a second copay when I came in the same day because they'd *abraded my eye* in a procedure by ignoring the fact I have a genetic condition that predisposes to that abrasion and not telling me anything about it ahead of time...They didn't indicate any care at all that my eye was hurting starting a few minutes after the procedure while I was trying to look at new frames. I had to look it all up myself after driving home with one good eye and one eye in pain and unusable. To top things off, the new prescription I got (filled somewhere else) is wrong, I believe - I'm in my 60s, have had glasses for 40 years, and have never had any such trouble with new prescriptions before. And it wasn't a change to a different kind of lens, like to progressives -- same formulation, bifocals, but they give me double vision and headaches almost immediately. I wasn't impressed with the tech who did it, in general, for more reasons than space allows here. Now I have to get the prescription process done again, at my expense, unfortunately - thanks again, EHNW...Unprofessional on both clinical and financial levels. I arrived at this location on January 15, 2026, at around 4:00 p.m. to order two pairs of glasses, one for computer use and one for distance vision, with my prescription and insurance in hand. There was only one staff member, a woman, working in the eyeglass department. She provided an initial quote but soon admitted that the price for the blue light protection was incorrect. Shortly after, she realized another mistake, as the discount for the second pair had not been applied. This was followed by yet another correction, and the errors continued for another three times. As the pricing kept changing, I began to feel increasingly uncomfortable with the lack of professionalism. I asked her to provide an itemized breakdown of the charges for each pair so I could clearly understand the costs. She told me that itemized charges were not available and only offered a total price for each pair without any details. I asked again, explaining that I wanted to know the individual costs for the lenses and frames. She refused and stated that this information would not be provided. She then mentioned that she had worked there for 19 years, insisted that she knew what she was doing, and told me that if I was not comfortable, I should leave. This was by far the worst and most unprofessional service I have experienced in over 30 years of visiting eye care shops. read more

I've only been to this location a couple of times even though I've been going to Eye Health for 15 years. I can't speak about the doctors only about the people that help you pick out frames and glasses. This has to be the worst location I've ever been to. They have really pissy customer service skills. The other 5 locations I have been to, have been great. I will not be back to give this one a 3rd chance and I will direct everybody I know away from this location to save them the annoyance. For my exam I needed to have my eyes dilated. That was 54 hours ago and my eyes are still dilated. I called the office about this 4 hours ago have not heard back. This light sensitivity is more than annoying at this point. The lack of a response tells me that they don't care. read more

I did not rate the office because the professional part of the practice is fine. The front office, however, leaves a great deal to be desired. I was told that I was too early and would have to wait in my car - I told her I did not have a car since I was dropped off for my appointment and I was told to be ten minutes early. I was twelve minutes early and I am 85 years old. There was no one in the waiting room so I sat down. I was called in in less than five minutes. The receptionist was rude, unfriendly and totally unhelpful. I certainly understand about Covid 19 and the restrictions, I spent my entire career in healthcare administration, but when the waiting room is empty and we are talking about two minutes too early, where is the judgment in this scenario? read more

I don't understand all the negative reviews, the majority of which are several years old. Not counting Covid, if there were problems before at this location (i.e., wait times), they seem to have corrected many of them because my experience today was nothing but positive. This was my third time in two years visiting the Tigard office. My wait time today was about 5 minutes. The young lady who did the preliminary exam was friendly, courteous and thorough. She asked if I had questions and answered them. When Dr. Page arrived -- less than 15 minutes after my eyes were dilated -- he did a further exam, checking my optic nerve and other parts of my eye. Dr. Page is a great listener and I didn't ever feel rushed. He answered all my questions, thoroughly explained the differences/similarities between cataract and RLE surgery, and helped me decide which type of prescription would be best. He's friendly, knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and isn't condescending like so many physicians. Should I need cataract surgery in the future, I feel confident that Dr. Page and his staff will see me through it (pun intended) successfully. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him or this office to a friend or family member. read more

I have no idea where all the negative reviews from the past came from. They must have changed their staff. I visited the Tigard office yesterday and was very impressed. I was greeted by two receptionist, one male, one female who were both very friendly. There was no wait line. I only sat in the waiting room for about five minutes before I was taken into the back for my eye tests. I had three, all with young females, and all were very friendly. I am elderly and they were all very understanding, patient and actually humorous. I had some laughs with them. When I saw Dr. Glass, she answered all my questions in a way that I could understand. All of the staff greeted me with a big smile.... a sign of a happy work environment... and I would not hesitate for a minute to recommend this eye clinic to anyone. read more

Honestly based on wait time would have scored negative, appt was 4:10, not seen till 4:45. Seeing reviews this is all too common. When expressing frustration to assistant ( who was pleasant no complaints there) informed that some take longer throwing schedules off. My thought is, if this is consistent issue your process is broken. I respect schedules, time is valuable, work, kids with school, who can afford a 2 hour appt? Should be two way street. I wish I had read the reviews about the office disorganization prior to making my appointment here. I was here once 2 years ago and they ran behind and I had hoped it was a one off. Returned today and their disorganization was absurd. I arrived 10 minutes prior to my appointment time, as asked. When nearly an hour had lapsed after I noticed other patients being called back who arrived 30+ minutes AFTER me, I inquired as to my appointment. It appeared they lost my chart. I was told it was somewhere in the back. Like everyone else, I had to take time off work to make this appointment and they didn't even give me the courtesy of explaining they were running an hour or more behind, so I had to leave. I am finding a new ophthalmologist for myself and my family. Eye Health Northwest is extremely disorganized and unprofessional. They called and told me to reschedule and they moved me to a new location without my permission. I gave this place a chance even after a rude phone call but I should have gone elsewhere. Majority of the staff were nice but this review is for the actual eyecare. My first exam I got my eyes dilated with little warning of how hard it would be for me to drive home because I could barely keep my eyes open. When I got my glasses they were blurry on one side causing me to be dizzy. I asked for a do over and went in for a second exam. When I picked up my glasses for the second time, there wasn't much difference. When I told the staff of my concern they just told me to put it on in the morning. I waited on the phone for 30 minutes to speak to a scheduler to find out when my mothe'rs appt was scheduled. When I told her that the appt was scheduled too late in the day as Mom has scheduled mealtimes, she HUNG UP on me!! Unbelievable!! I wish I had read the Yelp reviews. Most of the google reviews must be fake. Awful Yelp reviews!The technician JOJo not only has significant language barrier but also treated me like a prisoner. I was bullied the entire time.. Unlike other ophthalmologist office, their waiting room Is extremely bright Which triggered my migraine. I was there to get a new prescription and retina referral b/c vision damage after an accident. So I asked her who was going to examine for prescription. Jojo said that the dr would write the prescription which left me under the impression that Dr. Armour will do it as some ophthalmologists perform such exam, including Eyehealth NW. After reading from my intake form and still made a mistake, Jojo kept on forcing me to answer all the info. already on the form, esp. medications which if I pushed myself in a weak state, she wouldn't know the spellings. whlie holding my head, I told her I had a migraine and asked her to read from the form as the info. was already filled. She Started to get really nasty, talking loud and harsh to me as if she was a communist Chinese prison guard. Then I remembered people in LA complained about being pushed in Chinese markets and that's the way most Mainland Chinese behave given their culture. The first time she threatened to get the doctor I didn't even realize it. I said the doctor wouldn't know anything about migraines. Having told her about the light trigger from the waiting room, she intentionally turned the bright light over the sink back on even though it has nothing to with the exam (and thankfully the dr. Didn't do so). When the time came for the prescription exam, she insisted she would do it and went ahead to backstab me. The Dr. showed up with another female staff started and praised Jojo. She didn't do the Prescription exam nor did she switch for another assistant. When Jojo returned, I brought up what she told me and she lied in my face, stating she told me she was the one who examines for prescription and the dr. will check it. If I didn't make such a big effort with a dozen permanent injury, wearing knee braces and rely on Uber for the appt, I would have left before I even saw the doctor. i waited over 15minutes and the dr. didn't come in. was so upset that I mentioned to nice girl at the front desk and about what happened. I was told to request for kathy and I wish I had known before. I had never had This kind of bad experience before. Then the female staff who come in with the Dr. earlier and told me it takes 30 minutes for dilation to work and I had to wait another 15 minutes with my excruciating headache and weakened body. Nonetheless, a patient named Barry wrote on yelp that his dilation time was a less than 15 minutes. I knew previously that the doctor must be overbooked because I never had to wait 30 minutes after dilation. Dr. Amour didn't check the prescription again as Jojo stated. she put the new lens in front for a second and I commented," a lot better". Then she dictated Christina to note down 25% improvement for one eye etc. How did she derive at each eyepls exact vi improvement w/o checking Jojo's work? The time with her was smooth but rushed. Every year I was told my caracts are in the early stage. Dr. Armour, however, suggested surgery and asked me to wait to get new glasses. If retina checks out ok, she wanted me to go for cataract surgery despite she never heard of trigmnial neuropath, a facial& brain nerve damage resulting in my status migraine. When I asked the receptionist for an email to return the record release form. This really loud, rude housewife type of receptionist wrote down a fax number on form even though I asked twice for email. She insisted the form can't be returned via email due to HIPAA which is incorrect. I mentioned all the universities do use email for this form. she stared at me with an evil look then yelled at me asking how long I had to wait for Uber. I said 15 minutes. She yelled they close at five& it was 5:20& I was the last patient there. I don't believe the front door close at 5 PM. My apptwas at 3:40PM, there's no way I was the last patient. i had told her I would instead go to a retina specialist near me b/c of my injuries&knee braces. I was force& told her I would wait outside of the front door. I am so traumatized that I will never return to that location! read more

I had received a call from Eyehealth Northwest that my referral from my physician had arrived and was scheduled for an appointment. I asked if the VA had sent the referral as I am a patient of the Portland VA. I made arrangements to be driven home from the appointment as my eyes would be dilated. When I arrived, I was treated very rudely by Terri at the front desk. After discovering my referral was not from the VA, I was told I could continue with my appointment but I would likely be financially responsible for paying for it rather than the VA and that I would have to make sure the VA paid! Needless to say, I left and never to return. This business seems poorly managed and should never have someone like Terri at the front desk dealing with people. Thankfully, there are better options for eye doctors. read more

Let me share our recent experience with the Tigard location. I took my 83 year old mother there for her first patient visit. She was told to expect to be there 1 1/2 hours. She suffers from dry mouth, so based on the amount of time she was told she would be there, she took a bottle of water with her. Upon arrival, and while wearing her mask during the COVID screening, she was advised she could not bring her bottle of water with her. When she asked why, she was told that since she would have to remove her mask to drink, it was not allowed, and no accommodations would be made. She was politely told if she did not like it she could leave and that's exactly what she did. Note that the COVID update on their company website makes no mention of this restriction. The state mandates are quite clear in regard to mask use, stating that "Masks are currently required statewide at all times unless you are: Eating or drinking, among other exceptions" It is our opinion that the inability of this business to make accommodations for an elderly woman in this unique situation speaks volumes about them and my mother has taken her business elsewhere. read more

The WORST scheduling experience I have ever had. Let me start by saying that I didn't even get a chance to be a client before they lost my business. I understand there are multiple locations and I called the main number, so I'm not sure who I spoke with, but good Lord she was the rudest individual. From start to finish it was a maybe 30 second conversation (and by conversation I mean awkward silences in between loud sighs from her end) I have never felt like my potential business was such an inconvenience. My appointment was scheduled for 8:40 and I wasn't seen until 10ish. I was just sitting there in the exam room until I finally went to get an update. It ruined my work day. I had to reschedule all of my work appointments for the day. I think that is so rude. If you are running more than an hour behind, then let me know and give me the option to reschedule. Just don't bother. I went to Dr. Rebecca Armour for my regular ophthalmology exam. The HUGE problem is these people can't even get my glasses corrected properly! After four different prescriptions, my eyes still hurt. When I let them know my correction was incorrect, they tried to shuffle me right back into the queue, instead of fast tracking me. Got here early for paperwork and had to wait 45 min after my moms appointment time. They were nice enough but seems really unorganized for an eye clinic. I would be scared to have any kind of surgery here. It's a shame the experience is not good since it's close to my moms house. We will probably go to another office next year. read more

Had to give these people a star so I could post this, or they wouldn't have gotten that! Scheduled an eye appointment for contacts. When I went to my appointment I was told it was only for an eye exam, not contacts. When I told them the appointment was booked over two weeks a go on their web site, the front office people said, " Oh, well there must be a glitch in the system." We only have one person that deals with contacts, and they are not here today. We can schedule you in a week or two for that person. What a waste of my time and undertrained front office people. My mom needed help with her vision while here on vacation from Australia. We went through about six months of correspondence with them trying to sort out the insurance she had which covered 100%. It was great on her end, her insurance sent them all the info they needed, forms, etc and paid them promptly, but eye health northwest couldn't seem to communicate between departments and kept sending the same bill to me that was supposed to be sent to her insurance company (which had an american address). After months of back and forth between departments, they finally managed to figure it out and stopped sending me bills. But, they still send mom updates for new appointments, as though she lives in America. They're pretty useless. read more

Long wait times, rude older receptionist, nice younger receptionist, but both pretty uncaring about scheduling. I don't often write reviews but the wait gave me plenty of time to stew.. this place just felt really poorly run. Literally every single seat in both waiting areas was taken. I suspect that they notoriously overbook things and just expect their older clientele to not care about waiting. The clinicians were professional and the doctor was nice and knowledgable. My appointment time was 11:40 and was seen at 12:30. The receptionist was rude, very abrupt when asking questions, not courteous at all. She is the first person you come in contact with when coming through the front door. She doesn't smile or make one feel welcomed especially when this is your first time using this doctor. My first impression of Eye Health Northwest was very poor. I was hoping the other people I would be seeing today would be much better then the receptionist. Oh my gosh, every person I came in contact with were very professional, kind, friendly and seemed extremely knowledgeable in regards to their medical duties. Dr. Aaby was also very friendly, professional and made me feel comfortable and confident in his abilities as my doctor. Ordering my glasses was easy and painless. The girl working in that department was sweet, and seemed very efficient in her getting the right measurements for my new glasses and frames. I received my glasses in a week and they by far are the best fitting glasses I have ever had. My lenses were perfect and OMG my cataracts do not seem to be a problem at this time. The trifocals are perfectively placed in the lenses which is the first time I have been able to leave my glasses on to read. Thank you for the wonderful service I had except for the receptionist and that is why I gave a review of 3 Stars. Thank goodness everyone else were of 5 Star quality. read more
