I'm 32 and have since been asked about my great complexion. Additionally, I've subsequently found out the "laser" there is not a laser. I'm not an expert, but from pictures on their website, it's a Palomar StarLux 500, which uses Intense Pulse Light or IPL, and is somewhat outdated (and relatively inexpensive) technology. With what was being charged for a year of sessions, I could pay for the machine myself. Overall, I felt pretty self conscious after my initial consultation and wondered if my presupposed budget was wildly off base. After talking to friends and other businesses, this is by far the most expensive package I could find, and it doesn't have the technology, results, or added value to merit the price.

Milan offers "unlimited" sessions (with the asterisk that no longer applies if they go out of business or change their name) per body area (which can be specific or a bundle - full body, lower or upper legs, panty line or brazilian, belly, chest, back, underarms, neck, face, upper lip, etc). I consider the unlimited package an advantage for hair growth driven by hormonal causes as hormones may fluctuate and you may need ongoing touchup sessions. A word of caution that the pain can be intense, especially as sessions go on. I wish they offered a free trial session so people could see if they can handle it before committing. The office here in Beaverton is clean and the staff has been friendly and welcoming. Scheduling is simple but they are quite booked up. As a customer you're able to visit any office in the United States, but this one has been the most convenient for me.

I did an initial zoom consult with the clinic manager who very thoroughly answered my questions and was transparent about pricing. I was able to get scheduled about a week after that consult. Annie was my injector and right from her introduction, I felt super welcomed and comfortable. She explained the procedure very thoroughly and helped me best decide how many units I would need for forehead Botox and a lip flip. In total I got 30 units. I am about 1 week post injections and beyond happy with the results. I've included a photo for reference. I rarely leave reviews on yelp but felt I absolutely should because I don't believe they deserve the amount of negativity that's been in the reviews. I explained to Houda that I have dry, sensitive skin and am on tretinoin, which further sensitizes skin. Certain ingredients don't mix well with tretinoin and if you're doing a peel, micro needling, etc you have to stop tret use for several days leading up to treatment. During my facial, she applied a salicylic acid mask that immediately burned my skin, to the point that my eyes were watering and it was unbearable to leave on longer than about a minute or two. By the time I got home, my skin was bright red, like a bad sunburn. By 10/11, my skin was peeling off in chunks. I emailed Houda and she replied some dryness and tightness is normal. I am now 4 days out and my entire face is still peeling in large pieces. If I was there for peel, that'd be ok, but I just went for a facial and had no intention of getting a peel and it was never discussed. Houda's response to my concerns has felt a bit dismissive and told me this is a normal reaction. If that's the case, I wish the communication had been better- I had no idea she was going to use a product that'd cause my face to peel intensely for days on end. After looking into the product used, it is not intended to cause peeling. It seems like this product shouldn't have been used on sensitive skin or on a client using tretinoin. The manufacturer of the product advised me to see a doctor regarding this reaction. Based on other reviews I know Houda can do great work, unfortunately I don't think this is a good option for people with sensitive skin looking for a facial.
