Experience with the doctor was nice. However, there is an extremely unprofessional and disinterested female receptionist. I had a horrible experience when I called in (on 20th May at 1:28PM, in case the management would like to take note) to get a new appointment. I almost decided to cancel based on my talk with this receptionist. Extremely disinterested and talking as if every word is a huge burden. Towards the end, I asked for her name and she realized she was probably in trouble and cut the call. I tried calling twice immediately. The second time she picked up and cut the call. I am now left with a few questions about my appointment unanswered. Extremely unprofessional. I just can't believe it took me this long to find this optometrist this whole time I've lived nearby. We've been all over LA from DTLA to the valley to Koreatown and this one by far has been the best. Location is conveniently located at THE BLOC. They do validate but lucky for us, we were close enough to walk! The location is gorgeous and by far the cleanest and modern office we've visited. Diana greeted me warmly and walked me through all the tests before I met Dr. McMahon. What a cool station where you can just roll your chair up to each piece of equipment. Extremely mindful customer experience and design. Dr. McMahon is awesome. She was super friendly, full of energy, and answered all my questions. When I mentioned my old contacts weren't performing as well as they used to, she suggested some new brands to try and gave me some samples. She was the first eye doctor that has informed me that one of my eyes has a slightly weaker prescription with mild astigmatism. I had assumed both of them were exactly the same but I appreciated the attention to detail! We didn't come in for frames, but we couldn't help noticing how stylish their selection was in comparison to other spots we've been to. The funky contact cases in the bathroom were so unique! I really appreciated the little details in the decor. They were a bit more expensive than our other doctors, but the stellar service and good vibes make it totally worth it. Our last optometrist bought out the location of our old doctor and they were super pushy and we never experienced that here. I would recommend this optometrist for anyone living in DTLA. read more

I had a bad experience years ago, so I have been avoiding this place for years, but I decided to give it a second chance today much to my huge regret. After the eye exam, I had told the receptionist that I did not want any glasses. I never definitively said I wanted anything. She tried to be pushy and say well if your boyfriend is paying for it anyway just do it. I said no. I'm not going to use them. I stepped into the restroom while my boyfriend was on his cell phone and when I came back out apparently they were already cutting them for me. Apparently, they asked my boyfriend to authorize it, but I am the patient and I did not authorize it. I told them I don't want them. I started crying. They said "well it's already being cut now. It's too late." I'm so far beyond irate. I feel violated. I need that money back to my boyfriend asap! I will bring the glasses back I just need this fixed!!! Do not go here, they do not listen to you! The only thing I asked for were eyedrop samples and they didn't even give me those. I can't believe how absolutely sick I feel about this. What kind of business lets a decision be made without the actual patients consent???? Despite a packed schedule, she saw me the same day and suggested we try "prism" lenses. The tension in my body immediately released after trying on a sample pair. I was told to expect the revised lenses to be ready within a week (installed in my original frames). These lenses will provide much-needed relief and have pointed towards a potential underlying issue that previous imaging like MRI and CT scans hadn't revealed. I moved two and a half hours away from Eyes on the Bloc. In the suburbs I tried to find optometrist as professional as Dr. Regier, and it was impossible. The first eye doctor couldn't even get my contact lenses OD and OS correct! I asked her for and received a refund for the exam. I tried another optometrist. This doctor could not get my prescription right, and she gave me expired trial lenses! I was a patient with Dr. Regier for over 14 years, and I never had a problem with my prescriptions. I have concluded that a correct prescription is more important than a clerical error. I am now back with Dr. Regier. I made one visit for an exam, and my lenses were ready in just a few days. I have so many bad things to say about this office. 1. I have medical insurance and they have been charging me incorrectly on my copayment (overcharging on EVERY visit). I called them today finding out that this has happened multiple times. 2. The doctor insists that you come every week for a check up just to make money off of you. I had cornea damage and there were rarely any significant changes within a week's time and he and I both clearly knew that (as things like cornea damage takes time to heal). Avoid this office at all costs and make sure to verify your bills and copayment! I will take legal actions (through my lawyer) if I am not refunded the difference. read more

Needed my eyes checked so I YELPED and found this place. Literally walked from our condo to this place. Quick 10 minute walk. Great modern space with nice equipment. They have a lab inside to cute your lenses. Nice array of frames from Chanel to Tom Ford. Saw both Dr. McMahon and Dr. Regier. Both helpful and friendly. I was referred to Dr. Regier's practice after changing insurance plans. It was a delightful experience from beginning to end. I was greeted by Tiffany who completed my intake and eye tests and scans. She was extremely patient and understanding as I have long eyelashes and I do not like the "Air poof" test. My optometrist, Dr. Elizabeth was also amazing! Their is Parking location on sight which is a plus considering parking in DTLA is horrible, friendly staff, extremely clean and elegant office and great selection on high end brands for glasses , However the staff is a little bit pushy when it comes To adding on features to the lenses or eye exams they keep insisting to add on things or you won't be satisfied with Your lenses. You have to be firm when it comes to saying no otherwise you will get pressured to adding Something you may not have needed. None the less their customer service satisfactory. This is a very convenient location in the Bloc and it was easy to get an appointment. I checked my insurance (HMO- blue cross Vision) and it was in-network so I decided to come here. The doctor and staff were very friendly and nice, however, I wish they had been upfront about pricing. They offered to do a retina imaging test but it was $39.99 so I declined and did a traditional dilation instead. But then I got my bill at the end of my appointment- $10 co-pay and $150 for a "contact lens fitting." If I had known it was $150 (my insurance only covered $15 of that), I might have just re-ordered contacts with my old prescription, since I am happy with my current prescription/contact lenses. I just feel like $150 is a lot for a simple exam for contacts which I have already had for years. It was kinda sticker shock at the end when everything was already done. read more

I've been going to Dr. Regier's office for more than five years and can attest to the quality service that is afforded every time I go in for an appointment, pick up contact lenses, or just feel like getting a new pair of reading/sun glasses. All of the staff is knowledgeable about all things eye-related and they don't even get annoyed when I want to try on twenty frames that all kinda look the same =) They usually have appointments available and have been accomodating when I have to work around my wacky school/work schedule when making my eye appointments. I needed a tiny fix for a pair of glasses- the screw fell off one of the handles and I expected it to cost a few bucks. Came in and the nice gentleman who might be Mr. Gary but I actually don't know for sure fixed it in a sec for free! He was so nice and not just because of the free service. I have been to this location twice, previously for myself and today, for my son. The staff are all very nice and Veronica was able to look up my insurance information when I forgot to bring my card. Aside from the standard eye exam and prescription filling, they were able to take an old pair of scratched non prescription Raybans I had, and swapped them out to prescription sunglass lenses! What also makes this location special is that if they have your prescription lenses in stock, they can have your frames ready for you in less than an hour. My son's frames were ready in 20 minutes. My lenses had to be ordered but, my frames were still ready in a few days. They validate 2 hour parking. read more

I've been going to Dr. Regier office since I was 11 years old. Docs help me out a lot from having my blood pressure out of control to in control. Why? He took pictures of my optic nerve and showed me my vessels that where deteriorating. Told me what I should do and I did it. Three years later my vision has improved and actually gotten better! Wth!?!? The staff there is awesome love the all! Paula thank you're always a pleasure! Perry helped me with my sunglasses and set them straight! The technician (Perry) yelled at me for returning eyeglasses that were too heavy for my face (after getting deep dents on my nose for prolonged wear). He claimed there were scratches but the second reason I was returning the glasses was because I saw they were scratched when I got them and I have an email confirming I informed them of the scratches shortly after picking them up. Initially, I called and he agreed to the exchange beforehand but seemed to be especially upset about something else. Maybe that Trump lost the election? Last time I was here, he was blasting Trump speeches from his office. He cursed and used profanity at me. Obviously discrimination because he seems miserable with his own life. Love this place! I have 20/20 vision but everyone else in my family unfortunately does not, so I make it a point to regularly keep up on my eye exams. Dr McMahon is THE BEST! My whole family goes to her. She's very knowledgeable and has great bedside manner.
