The manager was speaking with the lady at the front desk then when it was my chance to check in I was late for the appointment and couldn't be seen. This system is broken they could have seen me if they wanted to help but they chose to take the more convenient path for them. My whole life I've felt like and inconvenience to every doctor I've spoken to and this really hasn't helped.

I had a 3:40 appointment with Hunter Porter NP on Dutch Fork Rd. for a refill on anxiety medicine…read more Lexington Family Practice requires patients to make and pay for an appointment for refills. I have since found another practitioner (an actual doctor) who does not charge me every time she has to write a refill. Due to heavy traffic, I realized I would be a few minutes late so I called the office to let them know I was on my way.  I was told by the receptionist to come on in since I was less than a mile from the facility.  I arrived in the LMC parking lot at 3:43.  When I went to check-in, I was told by the staff member that they might not be able to "fit me in".  I explained to her, three times, that I had called ahead concerning my delay and was told it was not a problem and to come in.  I was then called back to a patient room where I sat until 4:20.  I asked a staff member when I would be seen.  He explained, in a surly tone, that since I was "late" another patient had been put before me and Hunter Porter was examining him in the room across the hall.  I realize this is an over-explanation but these facts are relevant as to what was to come. When Hunter Porter finally came into the room, I told him that I was upset because of the lack of communication between their office staff.  I explained to Hunter Porter that I would not be returning to LMC on Dutch Fork Rd. and would be looking for a provider closer to my work due to heavy traffic on Dutch Fork Rd. I was checking out when Hunter Porter called me aside to lecture me about my comment about my appointment being 40 minutes late.  He said that a nurse had told him I was "yelling and slamming the patient room door."  This is an absolute fabrication.  I did not "yell" nor did I slam the door and I explained this to Hunter. I asked Hunter if he had heard any yelling or door slamming since he was in the exam room directly across the hall from me and he said no.  I would think that if I had actually been yelling and slamming doors, the nurse would have come to check on the problem or see if the patient was in distress (I was there for a refill for anxiety medication). The patient's needs were not taken into consideration, instead, the nurse chose to relay an exaggerated version of what actually happened. I then resumed check-out procedures and could hear someone in the hallway speaking loud enough that I realized he was talking about me.  I assume he was talking to Hunter and that Hunter was relaying the exaggerated version of what actually took place. Again, Hunter had already told me that he had not heard any yelling or door slamming and I had already explained to Hunter that I had not slammed the door or yelled yet Hunter still chose to relay the exaggerated version to another staff member. The person speaking loudly was one of the doctors. He was still speaking about me as I was leaving the office so I video recorded him.  Mind you, I had already had a staff member fabricate what had actually happened, was lectured, and now the exaggerated version was being relayed to the doctor. I was then sent a letter from Hunter Porter stating, "The relationship between physician, practitioners and their patients is based on mutual respect and concerns, the provision of sound medical care, and the adherence to the patient to the rules of the medical practice.  When there is a breakdown in this relationship, it is often best that it be terminated." Hunter also chose to write the exaggerated version in my medical chart. I had no problem with the letter since LFPB clearly does not show "respect" to their patients but to actually write these lies in my medical chart was just too much. I contacted the Lexington Medical Center Action Line to file a complaint. All they did was refer this back to the Ballentine Office Manager who finally deemed to call me after I called the Action Line 5 times over a 4 week period. She backed up the actions of the employees 100% even though I have a video of their unprofessionalism.

I'm a veteran and I followed him from the VA. They lost a great asset, but I would not. Currently, you have to pay him and submit it to your insurance afterward. That was a bit intimidating to me at first. However, he provides all the necessary paperwork. So far it seems like I am getting lucky enough that Tricare will reimburse me for most of it. I continue to see Dr. Barschat even if there was no chance that I would be reimbursed. He is worth it, absolutely!

They over prescribed sera toning uptake meds for me, asked to get a mammogram script which the required another appointment after I had seen them 3 times in the last 6 months. I requested to have the fasting blood draw in the morning for this final appointment because I needed the test and the appointment was not until the afternoon. They refused. Then I arrived literally 12 minutes late. They said I couldn't been seen. No where on their website does it stat the late time. I talked to other doctors who said their policy is 15 minutes. I will not recommend this office. Furthermore who has a doctors office where it is literally impossible to leave a direct message to their doctor.

I didn't have my portion (deductible) today and they would not bill me. That's fine, but she (Stephanie) was rude about it. There's no reason for that. If it was the policy, she would have never called billing and spoke about me in my face as though I wasn't there. But thankfully, I don't go low. I left without being seen but I also didn't reschedule because anywhere that doesn't care about me as a person can't care about my health. It doesn't matter to them, I'm sure, but they still lost a patient today. I've been going there since 2016! But today ended that "relationship." I'll find somewhere that still treats people like people.

So if you go to her, you better be careful because you may get attack by someone you don't know because of their personal drama in my opinion. Now the facts are I have been lied to several times and have the message to prove it and the intelligence level that the medical assistant Nicole has is not up to part for her job duties. Than she like to disrespect you by saying smart remarks and when you say something back it's a problem. The office manager there don't really care and they will lie to you to keep you from writing complaints. I have even have the NP I was seeing sent me to have the wrong thing done, for the people at Lexington to tell me thats what I don't need and I need this. This place is awful , unprofessional, and to much of drama. It is my best opinion to never recommend anyone to go there . I think we both have mixed opinions on the level of competency the doctor and technicians have. First off, if you choice Dr Keeton she will always be running behind from your selected appointment time. The nurses here are more coherent than rest of staff. The ultrasound technician on two separate occasions failed to explain what she was doing just three people sitting in a room of silence. She would not say anything until I actively ask her what is she looking at. As for Dr Keeton, she is a very nice doctor but she is sooo forgetful. I don't know if she has a high caseload but I think the doctors are supposed to know important details of your pregnancy. When she was scheduling our delivery she forgot my wife needed a planned c section until my wife reminded her. Dr Keeton said she would give us a referral for a more thorough Ultrasound imaging and we never received it. When we first started there saw a nurse practitioner, we preferred her better but prolly can't do deliveries. Due to the many forgetful pattern of Dr Keeton we would seek a different provider for another pregnancy. Despite these issues when she is lucid is good doctor so two points on 5 scale.
