Barton Urgent Care dxd a corneal abrasion and advised me to see an optometrist asap for an additional, unusual symptom seen in the same eye. Eyezone is up the street frm them and I was able to be seen in less than a half hour as an urgent "squeeze in" ( amazing in itself). The staff understood my anxiety, got me in and after additional tests, Dr Gomez kindly and professionally described the benign red dot much to my relief and confirmed the corneal abrasion and medication treatment needed. Overall, an experience tht very well could've taken several hours before being seen was one and done in less than one hour. I highly recommend the staff and Dr Gomez. When I first arrived, they were great! Ladies in the front are a hoot! Now I was specific and told them I'm getting the contact exam being I'm getting glasses and contacts. Then they proceed to charge me $115 for the eye fitting which I checked and yes that's covered under my insurance plan. However, instead of charging me $45 I was charged $115 and they wouldn't make it right. So I will NEVER do business with them again. Totally on principle. This place is great. This is the first time I have come here and I had a great expierence. My prescription is very difficult and they Were able to get it done quickly and correctly. I was able to get some really nice frames and lenses. Te staff fitted the frames till they were comfortable. The optometrist was very friendly, professional and got my new lenses perfect. The front desk staff got me into my appointment on time and was well versed with my insurance. Eye zone also has text message reminders of your appointment which is also great. This is my first time coming to Lake Tahoe. We got in yesterday and I woke up this morning with my eye all red and some pain. I looked on yelp to find a eye doctor. I wrote down three. And started calling. Eyezone staff was top notch. They listened to my story and symptoms and even during this Covid-19 time they said they would fit me in. Fast forward to me checking in. Again the staff was incredible. From the front desk all the way to my appointment. Happy, cheery, professional, caring is that enough? Then my appointment with Dr Rowan. He listened, examined my eye. He checked everything out thoroughly . The people of Lake Tahoe are very lucky to have this doctor and his staff. I just got my eyes checked by Dr. Lewis and he was an absolute prick. I keep telling him I can't see and I need glasses and he kept telling me "well your last prescription wasn't very severe so you can see fine" making git seem like I was lying or something! I had to stop him and tell him that maybe compared to someone else they're not as bad but from MY PERSPECTIVE I feel like I can't see!!! He then looks at my chart and says He found it weird I've been saying that since 2014... yes, every time I come in I say I can't see, get a new prescription and then CAN see again!!! I don't want to talk about philosophy and I don't want to defend why I'm there!! JUST CHECK MY EYES and stop being a huge jerk!!! I will never go back there. He made me feel rushed like I couldn't take my time and he kept accusing me of lying when he was going back and forth from filters. At the end he said "Hopefully these will satisfy you"... like nothing make me happy because I need to get my eyes checked! I can't even with this guy. Literally go anywhere else. Didn't listen to me about fitment of my contacts, kept telling gme how good my vision was Makin gme feel like I'm wasting his time asking for a prescription. So, I just recently visited the Eyezone Stateline, NV. I made the eye check up and all the add ons or optional tests. Then after my insurance, they charged me $99 because of the optional tests. Then I was asking for my prescription because I want to look around for cheaper eyeglasses and contacts. They refused to give me the prescription because they said they gave me a sample of contact lenses. They want me to try those first. But for me, I have paid all the tests and it's my right to get my prescription. They said they cannot give it unless, I will give them back the sample contact lenses. I was like, it's weird because those are just free from supplier and it's a sample only. So I gave back the samples and they gave me the prescription. I'm an existing client and I had no problem getting prescription before with Dr. Lewis plus all those samples. This new eye doctor Gomez (I think) is rude. He even told me, "we are not giving free sample contacts just for the heck of it". read more

Made an emergency same day appointment with no problem. Staff were caring and eager to help me. The doctor was friendly, thorough, and spent a lot of time answering my questions. I love that she proactively showed me photos to illustrate her points, gave me literature so I could understand the diagnosis, and suggested several therapies that I could choose from. The staff was ok (besides the no personality receptionist checking people in) The doctor was nice quick and to the point. Kudos to Dr. Tonya Hubbard! I had something in my eye and my hubby called EyeZone and said can you please take a look. They squeezed me in and I am so grateful. The irritation was driving me crazy and I had to cancel a tennis game. She searched and found a piece of debris. I don't know how it got there, but I am so happy they figured it out. Dr. Tonya was warm, kind and didn't make me feel silly for coming in. Her "bedside manner" is a 10!!! I wasn't sure if I had something that had torn in my eye and was so grateful I went in. This place is the absolute worst. Unfortunately for me, I'm required to go here as a contractual obligation to fulfilling all the necessary appointments post-lasik, through Lasik of Nevada (who is fantastic). All five appointments I've had with them over the course of the last year has had an issue. They've cancelled on me at the last minute, told me that I've shown up to the wrong office, told me that the doctor isn't going to be in multiple times, scheduled me for the wrong days and over all just provided the worst and most un-apologetic customer service I've ever experienced. I'm giving them two stars instead of one because at this point, it's hysterical how repetitively bad it is. read more

Was able to make an appointment within a day or two of calling which was great. The doc was not at all informative about my prescription, even now I couldn't tell you what it is. He also didn't tell me anything about my condition and I even had to ask what my condition was. Turns out I have an astigmatism. They fixed me right up with some glasses that work great I just wish the doc put a little more effort down to help me. read more

I wanted to post this review before I forget! Imagine going on vacation, only to realize you have forgotten to pack ANY contacts! Mind you, I only wear contacts 99% of the time. Enter the amazing and kind staff at EyeZone. They were generous enough to allow me to have a few days worth of trial contacts with no delay and at no cost. I went here some time ago and got a new prescription and a new pair of eyeglasses. With the new eyeglasses, my eyes always seemed to strain and I never got used to them. The optometrist did not seem confident in his practice either. Only after going to a new optometrist, was I informed that my current prescription and eyeglasses were wrong. Last week was the first time I've been to this office since the new management took over...I just got the best eye exam in my life, but it WAS NOT HERE!! After having the WORST eye exam at Stateline Eye Zone (formally Alpine Eye Care), I called my insurance, VSP, and told them about my horrible experience with the Dr. and they agreed to let me get re-examined at another optometrist. While the office staff at Eye Zone are very friendly, I was less than impressed with the new Dr. (only one of the original Dr.'s remain- Dr Barron is gone) After the initial tests, picture of eye, peripheral vision, I saw the Dr.. She flipped through the different lenses so fast, my eyes did not have time to focus (told her I had dry eyes) I had to ask her to slow down, but it still was too fast. She asked which eye drops I used and then told me she "didn't like that brand" but gave not alternative or reasons. She seemed a little aloof throughout the "exam" - "you can get new glasses if you want"- according to her my Rx had changed slightly. When she said the "exam" was "done" I was shocked at the short duration of the exam and I questioned why she was not dilating my eyes- she said my eyes in the picture looked healthy and "did not see that it was necessary". SHE NEVER EVEN LOOKED AT MY EYES!! REALLY?? A lot can be missed just looking at a picture, PLUS my insurance PAYS for dilation as part of the exam! I left the office extremely disappointed. At my new Dr. they repeated the initial tests, but the DOCTOR looked at my eyes; she dilated my eyes; checked to see that both eyes were working together properly; checked to see the degree of dryness in my eyes, then gave recommendations; did the lens testing for glasses; checked to see that the pressure in my eyes was correct; looked under my lids and below; and she found that I have the beginning stages of cataracts! She did some other tests, but I can't remember what they were, but she examined the TOTAL health of my eyes...now THAT was an exam! THE EYE ZONE DR. DID NONE OF THOSE TESTS BEYOND THE LENS TESTING! AND, if I had not gone to the new Dr. I would not know that I have the beginning stages of cataracts! I will NEVER go back to the Eye Zone (nor can I even come close to recommending them!), even though it is only less than a 5 minute drive for me...I would rather drive the 40+ minutes to Minden to get a REAL eye exam! Oh, and I must mention, the designer eye glass frames are also MUCH less expensive at my new Dr's! read more
