Anastacio gave us a quote that was more through than the other bids. He actually looked into plenum and checked the blower and coils, He also suggested adding ultraviolet lights. He had several small issues that marred the experience: confusions about time, confusion about what was covered in scope of work, photos not included with receipt, and finally photos were in WhatsApp format! Who over 39 even knows was WhatsApp is much less how to use it? Cleanup would be a B with things left behind and only having a broom to clean up with. The ducts, coils and blower needed cleaning and were cleaned. Mess and disruption were minimal. They left with a large trash bag stuffed to brim with debris from the ducts. I would recommend them as the price was competitive and the covered isues that other companies neglected. read more

Clean Air Houston Pro might have good reviews, but my experience with them was not positive. While the actual duct cleaning seemed fine, their customer service was so bad that I will never use them again. I arranged for their service for my mom who is in her 70s. They came on a Wednesday for an estimate and did the cleaning on Thursday. They offered to sell her furnace filters which she wanted to buy, but forgot to bring them. Then told her to buy them herself. She isn't familiar with furnace filters, so she relied on their instructions and went to the hardware store but they gave her the wrong sizes. She ended up buying multiple filters only for them to tell her she only needed one, forcing her to go back and return the others. They charged her $2,400 but gave her a senior discount, bringing the total to $2,200, which she paid in full. Later, they called and said they got it wrong and insisted she pay back the $200. She told them that she was invoiced for $2200 and rightfully didn't pay the $200. As if that weren't bad enough, they left without turning the HVAC system back on, and her system was off for about 5 days when the weather was in the 50s. She called them on Friday but no one responded. When I found out on Saturday, I had to go through their answering service to finally reach a manager later in the day. Since they don't work weekends, they sent someone out Monday morning at 7 AM to turn the system back on. When the workers arrived, instead of apologizing, they greeted my mother with, "Oh, you're the lady who didn't pay the $200." She was beyond frustrated and just paid it to get it over with. I have no problem paying for services rendered, but when a company offers a discount, accepts payment, and then demands more money, it's deceptive and unfair--especially to an elderly customer. Also there is absolutely no excuse for leaving someone's HVAC system off for five days. If they can't manage something as basic as turning the system back on, I have to question how good their actual work is. This company's biggest problem seems to be a lack of communication and organization, and the customer experience suffered dramatically because of it. After spending so much money, the process should have been seamless, not a frustrating mess of mistakes, miscommunication, and unprofessional behavior. Good riddance. read more

While I didn't end up choosing services from Clean Air Houston Pro, I have to give good remarks for Ben (the owner) and Rolando (the person that came out to do a free inspection/quote). Rolando called 30 minutes before arrival and was on-time. He was professional and answered any questions I had during his time inspecting my attic. Ben kept in constant communications with me and accommodated any questions I had regarding the quote and what services I wanted. He was upfront with pricing, transparent, and very responsive. I was interested in attic insulation removal, cleaning, air sealing, and replacing it with new insulation to R49 value for the Houston area. In my opinion, he gave a very fair quote for services but another competitor, equally high rated on Yelp, edged him out ever so slightly regarding pricing. We have blown in cellulose insulation in our attic since the 1960's. We had some major renovations done to our kitchen and bathrooms and since then I've noticed more and more dust settling inside our house. They've been seeping in through cracks found in spaces around recessed lighting, ceiling fans and light fixtures that were installed. Further more, our air conditioning duct system occasionally would blow pieces of insulation into our living space. We needed our air duct system checked and also to make sure everything that comes into our living space sealed tight. My son and I are allergic to dust. I needed to find a company that I can depend on to get the job done right. After careful research, we met up with Ben, from Clean Air Houston Pro. We found Ben to be professional, personable, very knowledgeable and with excellent ratings from satisfied customers. We discussed with Ben the issues we were having and he gave us a plan to resolve them all. He told us he would completely remove all old insulation, vacuum and disinfect the entire attic before sealing every nook and cranny so that the entire attic space is completely isolated from the living space below. New ductwork, plenums, register boxes and covers would be installed. All will be sealed tight. Only then would new insulation be placed down. Supervisor German, Wilmer, Rolando plus others worked diligently to complete the project. They were polite, hardworking and careful with our home. They completely lined our living space with plastic sheets to protect my carpet, furniture and all open surfaces from dust and grit. I was extremely impressed by the scope and effort put into doing so. All the old insulation and garbage were carefully bagged securely and disposed of. From beginning to end their service was outstanding. I am not coughing nor sneezing because of dust anymore. I love my new clean air. Gave me an exorbitant quote for services I don't need and didn't ask for. Edit: Since the owner is now saying we never spoke and he has no record. He (or his crew) were at my house. I asked them for a chimney cleaning. Instead of doing that they spent an hour doing a "free inspection" of my HVAC and trying to sell me $1500 in duct cleaning. It was pricey so I was prepared for around 1k. Which is about what it was for our two story house. The guys were super thorough and were polite. They showed us before and after videos and I was amazed and thankful to no longer be breathing all that junk in! My only complaint was there's now a fine mist of dust all over my home office. I have a 1940's home in Spring Branch with a severely damaged roof during the derecho this past May. After two tarp failures leading to a complete re-roof, it was evident from all of the rain saturation, the ceilings were going to have to be replaced. My insurance company agreed but after their "preferred" subcontractors failed in efforts to tarp the roof, I decided to select my own subcontractors. First, insulation needed to be removed and ultimately replaced. Second, the ductwork would not survive the ceiling removal so I needed a contractor that could handle both jobs, sequenced with the ceiling replacement so we did not have extended delays between the different trades. Ben managed the timing and hit every deadline needed to keep the project moving without a single day of delay between trades, from removal to duct installation to final insulation. The technicians were at my house for less than half an hour. After being told $99 on the phone, they quoted $450 to clean the dryer vents and change the outside vent fixture to deal with a moisture issue. I told them I just wanted the cleaning for $200 (not the original $99, they insisted I needed a "deep clean" and upcharged because the outer vent is high up on the side of the house), but then they said I could pay an additional $100 cash and they would install a flapper on the inside to prevent the humidity. I said fine, because I needed a functioning dryer. Joke's on me: now my dryer won't run--literally, won't spin the drum or heat up--and a second company had to come replace the vent hose, which Clean Air dented, and deinstall the flapper, which they installed incorrectly and damaged in the process, making my moisture issues worse. This has also apparently damaged my dryer, which still won't run, and which I now have to call a third technician to come fix. On top of that, Clean Air now keeps calling me for unknown reasons. The first time I missed the call I called back right away, and whoever picked up seemed to have no idea why they had called me. Do not recommend. read more
