It shouldn't the customer's job to chase down management for updates on a defective product. On March 2nd RVA Repairs, Lakeside's Asko service third party came for ten minutes and said they didn't know the problem and said would order a new main board, UI board, and latch but wasn't 100% sure that would fix it which would also be another two week turn around time to order/ship the parts and fix. Ended up having Asko send a replacement on March 9th with Lakeside Appliance's contractor who they've worked with for "over 30 years" to install it the next week. No service window was provided for when the plumber contractor would come to install new dishwasher. Had to call Appliances on Lakeside to contact them to let me know when the installation time window was. Kevin, the contractor, scratches the front of the dishwasher right off of the van and scratches the doorhandle while installing it. Avoid this store if you value follow-through and reliability.

However, I ordered some items online (two night stands) for pickup but also took some time to look around the store at their offerings. They have a lot of good things that are priced well! I drive a sedan, so I knew that my car may not be able to fit both night stands but they let me see the boxes they were in and we were able to fit one in! Luckily, I live close by so I just drove back for the other (I didn't want to pay the $99 delivery fee clearly lol). I assembled the night stands together the same day and one of them was faulty (the leg didn't line up with the pre drilled holes). Based on their website, their return policy is not friendly but I tried my hand and called them and told them the problem. They were happy to replace it rather than me filing a warranty claim -- which I thought was super nice and saved me from a future headache. I would say that when I went to go replace it, I had to wait a very long time but they seemed short staffed and rather busy at the time.

The technology in appliancees has come so far now. I financed an LG all in one machine Washer+Drier for $150 down I had a $2,000+ space age feeling, clothes and linen pampering machine. It is so crazy, the stuff goes in dry and comes out dry and clean and softer thannI have ever felt something come out the drier. This thing uses a heat pump to gently heat and pull the moisture out your stuff. Amazing, no vent pipe and no extra space being taken up by a whole additional machine. Thing even uses a standard 120 Volt plug like anything else you would plug in. No more wild, huge 220 Volt plug and special outlet and an electrician to install the outlet and breaker. EZPZ is an understatement. Only thing this place needs is the appliances to be hooked up so the salesman can give a proper demonstration. Also the salesman need to be more knowledgeable about the technology. If you do your own research then you're straight.

We needed the Samsung dryer modified to change the door hinges to the left side and also to re-route the vent to the right side of the dryer and East Coast did that for us. East Coast made the delivery on June 22, putting all the appliances in our living room to wait for the contractor to do the installs. We were happy with our experience. Three days later on June 25 the contractor opened the washer and found the control panel was dented and damaged. He installed all the other appliances but left the Samsung washer and dryer in our living room. I called East Coast and this is when the trouble started. The store manager said it was too late to return the washer because we should have reported any damage within 24 hours of delivery but I could email a photo and they would "see what they could do". The next day the sales person told me that she had ordered a new washer which would arrive in 2 weeks (July 10). She offered to have the delivery crew install the washer and dryer for us, which sounded great. On July 9 I called to see if the washer was still scheduled to arrive on July 10. She called me back on July 10 and said there was a delay on Samsung's end and the washer was now scheduled to be delivered on July 16 (3 weeks from when I reported the damaged washer). She said that East Coast had lots of problems with Samsung deliveries. I was surprised to hear this. If we had known that Samsung was not always reliable, we would have ordered a different brand of washer and dryer back in April. Meanwhile the damaged washer and the dryer were sitting in our living room although the kitchen renovation project was just about finished. Also the door and frame to the closet where the washer and dryer were to be installed was sitting in our dining room and all the door trim was lying on the dining room floor. On July 15 I called East Coast to check on the scheduled delivery for the next day. My sales person was on vacation but another sales person said the washer was not due to be delivered until July 24 (4 weeks from when I reported the damaged washer). She also emphasized that Samsung was notoriously unreliable with their delivery dates. I was angry at this point that we had not been warned back in April that East Coast had these problems with Samsung, since if we had known that we would have ordered a different brand. I was also angry that East Coast seemed to be just stringing me along with promised delivery dates that kept getting pushed further into the future. Meanwhile, our kitchen renovation was wrapping up but appliances and construction materials were all over our living room and dining room waiting for the washer and dryer installs. We were delayed in getting our house back together and the contractor was delayed in finishing the project and getting final payment, waiting to re-install the door, put up trim and paint after the washer and dryer were installed in the closet. Then, to top it all, the new sales person called me on July 16 and said that Samsung would not be delivering the washer for at least another month! This was totally unacceptable. She suggested returning the washer and the dryer and ordering another brand which would take 3-4 weeks. I checked Home Depot and ordered the same washer for delivery in 2 weeks. East Coast picked up the damaged washer on July 24 and we received a refund check on Aug 1. Home Depot delivered the new washer on July 29 and our contractor installed the washer and dryer on July 30. Our kitchen renovation project was delayed by several weeks. I the East Coast had suggested we buy a different brand instead of Samsung, the washer and dryer installation would have been completed on June 25 instead of July 30. It seems that certain manufacturers deliver to Home Depot and other retailers much faster and more reliably than they do to East Coast Appliance, and for this reason, I don't think we would buy from East Coast Appliance again in the future.
