James refused to do the smog check on my car because it is a 1995 Honda and he said it would be expensive and the check was flashing so it wouldn't pass. I said it didn't matter because I am retiring the car and the smog check is required pass or fail. He was lazy and didn't want to do it the moment I drove up. I used to like this station and have used it since 2011. The check engine light is flashing the code that the speedometer isn't working not because there is a problem with the emissions. read more

You know how you sometimes walk into a business and think wow, what a great experience! They're building an amazing business and clearly love their customers! Can't wait to tell everyone I know! Yeah, that wasn't my experience at this place. They were quick and efficient, so I can't complain about the service at all. I walked in, they asked for my keys and pointed to a form to fill out, and then disappeared. No pleasantries, nothing about the price, nothing about how long it might take. By the time I had the form filled out and sat down, he was back inside and completely finished. Hooray! But then he hit me with a $60 bill. Wha ...? I was confused, but he pointed up to the pricing on the wall. I did a quick check of other local places, and for my car's size and weight the price should've been $29.95. But he said, "none of my other customers complain about the price." I don't really care what other customers think. It seems like price gouging to me. He sort of rudely asked me, "what, you can't afford $60 every two years?" as if to imply there was something wrong with me! While there are so many different places that I'm so happy to recommend, this one would not even be on my short list. Or my long list. Or any list at all. Very disappointing to be treated that way. We had two cars that needed their smog certification. I called near closing time on a Thursday to ask if they could test one of the cars. They said no problem and I was in and out very quickly. Since I was happy with the experience I called Friday morning to get the second car in, again I was told to come on in. Two people in front of me but they were done quickly and he took care of our second car quickly as well. Easy process and so convenient. I will definitely use them again. read more

I went by here for a smog check. I was there about an hour and a half before their posted close time, but the owner was closing up when we got there. He agreed to stay to do the smog on my car though. I had a coupon specifically for their business, but they wouldn't take it. They said they no longer take any coupons. Dan was helpful and get the smog check for my Lexus rx 350 within 15 mins . It was a good experience and quick . Make sure you bring your dmv registration . I'm giving him two stars because he allowed me to make an appt the same day, but: 1. I still had to wait 20 mins. 2. He didn't wear a mask in his office when he had me signing all paperwork , even though I did. Didn't wear mask in my car when testing it. 3. It was pricey compared to other places I have been, PLUS he charged a $2-$3 surcharge for credit card (no fee for debit). In two years , I will find another shop. read more

They no longer honor the $10 yelp check-in discount or any other coupons and they don't match competitor coupons. You can probably save $10 to $20 by going somewhere else. They also charge an additional $3 fee if you pay by credit card. That said, they keep regular business hours and were open when the place down the street was not. I left my smog check until my last day of registration. EZ Smog check is open on Sundays, no lines or long wait. The owner asked me if I could wait about 30 minutes because he needed to calibrate his scale (Only for older vehicles - I have a 99 Isuzu Rodeo). In about 30 min total, he completed my smog check ($70) and I was driving back home. The smog was processed thru the dmv in a few hours so I was able to complete my registration. I will come back for all my vehicle smog checks in the future. read more

Service was fine, but shame on me for not confirming the fee beforehand. Rather than the normal $35-40 fee charged by the vast majority of smog check shops in the area, I was charged over $72 for my car. Charging 2-TIMES THE MARKET RATE is really bad and a business model that is based on taking advantage of dummies like me that assumed the pricing at this shop would be in line with others. Not sure how this place has 4 stars. I went here today to get a smog check, as advertised it should have been $40 dollars with a coupon. Customer service is not good, the man helping me complained that I parked too far when I parked one row over. After 5 minutes told me my car passed and tried charging me $60 dollars, then remembered I had a coupon and charged me $50. With the coupon it should have been $40. After reading many reviews for this business upcharging seems to be usual. Save your money go somewhere else. Also not to mention does not comply with Covid protocols. If I could give them a zero star I would. I should've known from the beginning that this would be a bad experience. The fellow up front named Danny had a bad attitude from the moment I walked in. First he argued over the year of the car and wanted to charge an extra $15 because he said the car was older than a 1995. Actually the car is a 1997 Mustang that had recently had a paint job and looks brand new. I don't know why it took 45 minutes to get a smog check. Maybe because he spent 15 minutes trying to open the hood, couldn't figure out how, and had to come and get me to open the hood. Then when he brought the car out he opened the door so hard that it slammed into the open door of his shop removing a small chip of paint. He said there was no paint missing. I showed it to him and I have photographs. He again insisted there was nothing wrong. Eventually he rubbed some white compound because he thought he could buff it out. It's a chip, so there was no way that the compound was going to restore the paint. I'll deal with the owners on Monday. If you're smart you'll have a smog check done someplace else. read more

I came in to perform a smog check on my vehicle and the employee who works there wasn't very pleasant at all. Example: I saw the pricing for a car was around $65 however because the car was a "P-Car" he decided to upcharge me $100. He asked questions that were not relevant for the smog check, more for his curiosity which was odd. Example, how much did it cost for an oil change and if I had performed one. It wasn't a great experience overall. I recommend Pep Boys, pricing is reasonable there. read more
