I had to go here twice. First time, my "Check Engine" light was on. Alas, failure by that sensor reading alone. The light had been on for a while since a rat chewed on some wiring under the hood. It didn't affect the car's performance at all and the dealer and an independent repair shop quoted me $300 to repair. "Forget it", I said at the time. But now the DMV really wanted a smog test so I was forced to get it repaired. So I took the car to another independent shop that just fixed the wiring harness instead of replacing it thus saving me over $200. (See my review of Neighborhood Car Care!). So then I took the car back and my Accord passed the test without a problem. Sean, the tech, was very pleasant and courteous. In the end, not only did he save me time, but money too. Other "check only stations" wanted $60-80 to do the test. I was out of there for just $43. Good service, honesty and I saved money....Woohoo! As good as it gets! read more

Three 1 star reviews in April and May. This place is horrible. They have a coupon on line but it cannot be printed. Tired to charge me 50% more than any other place but I scanned the coupon so he had to take it. Two minutes later he failed the car and charged me. My battery had been dead and the computer need to be updated by driving a few miles. He was pleased he could fail me an still charge. I had heard he was slimy and felt that way when I spoke with him. BIG mistake to go there. Do not support shady business's. Letting him get away with over charging and bullying does not work in the long run in this country. I will NEVER be back and I will let everyone I know he is shady. PS: my car passed smog just fine at another facility....save your money. read more

This was my first time taking a car in for a smog test. (My husband usually takes care of the car stuff. Hahaha!). I came here because I was in the area and the sign said "smog tests only". Although I came in right behind another lady and had to wait my turn, I was in-and-out in 15 minutes! It was quoted $60 for the test and certificate. However, if you check-in on Yelp, you'll get a 30% off coupon. I showed it to Lee and he told me to then "mark as used". He took $15 off the smog test. No discount on the DMV certificate, which is understandable because they never discount anything and are always increasing fees. I will definitely come back. read more

Before new the new owners & better employees this was my go to place. Since then the last 4 yrs the customer service is horrible & the employees rude. Even though they say they smog all cars that is not true, especially if it takes even a little bit more effort. I would suggest one of the many other places in the area. read more

I had written a bad review but have learned I was mistaken in what I thought was doing business in bad faith. He did not deserve it, as I over reacted to failing my test. As it turns out they have to perform the smog test even if they know the car will fail . That's the law apparently even if I feel it is the wrong way to go. Dany was gracious enough to retest me after I had the car repaired by a mechanic shop ( as he is a test only shop) and the engine light was now off. He only charged me for the smog certificate even though they normally do charge to retest. If retesting with no charge is important to you I suggest using another smog test shop, some will retest for free. EZ Smog does not, this was a one time offer to work things out with me. I was happy we were able to resolve the issue. Now I know what to do going forward. My car past the test and now I have more years to enjoy driving it before testing again is required. read more

I will say he is fast but incredibly rude and over priced. He also handled the vehicle very roughly and wouldn't directly answer anything I said to him. I would much prefer to spend my money elsewhere with someone who's not a douche. My husband and I will not be returning and I will be sure to inform my friends to not get a smog check here. Pretty basic and standard place to get a smog, nothing fancy. I found them in the penny saver with a coupon for $29 CASH ONLY which includes the certificate. They were the cheapest I found so that's why I went, I only needed a basic smog. There were 2 people waiting before me but I was still in and out of there is max. 20 minutes. I can see how the guy does come off kind of rude, he just does the smog and that's it no small talk. However if you fail, It's only $20 cash and doesn't include a retest. You would have to pay $29 CASH again if your brought it back here to get retested. You can't come get retested until you put 150 miles since you brought it to be retested and fixed of course. He keeps the coupon so If you come here to get retested you don't need to get another coupon. My review was for a 2006 car so I don't know how it works or pricing for older cars because that is different. read more

He charges you only to tell you the OBD monitor is not ready. Other smog check stations would tell you it's not ready to read and will never charge you the $63 for nothing. He gives you no answer or solution and is extremely rude. Never come here!! read more

So if there is no need for an appointment, why was I told to come back in 30 minutes? The employee told me twice that he was very hungry and had to eat his lunch....what?? I told him that the on-line ad does not state that there is a lunch hour! He said he'd tell his boss. Any time I have dealt with a small business in the past, the employee would have put down his lunch, performed the very, very short smog check, sent me on my way and finished his lunch. This place is unable to smog a 2012 Jeep Wrangler. they tried for about 20 min and then said sorry cant do it. It wouldn't shift out of first gear for them, the reason according to the Jeep dealer is they are turning off the traction control wrong. This place ended up being a waste of time. read more

I've been here with 3 cars the last 8 years and have never experienced a problem. They changed techs at this shop and now when I take my 4X4 Van in that has been there twice before he fails me for a supposed modification to my exhaust. I can barely communicate with the guy because his English is awful. Nothing has changed on my vehicle and all my emissions were perfect! I will not be back. Found a coupon for $25 smog test, but it said anything older thatn 1996 would be extra. So I called for a quote and was told $49. When I arrived he said there was a mis communication and the coupon would not work at all. He still gave me the quote because he is a man of his word. Great place, highly recommended! read more

NO FREE RETEST AND EXTREMELY RUDE! Had my car smogged two years ago by Danny at this location. He was fast, professional and did his job. He questioned me about my aftermarket parts, I showed him the California EO # and he looked it up in the ARB database - no problem. Came in two years later with the same vehicle and all I get is "It will be $60" from Mr. Le. Even though I was honest and had CARB EO stickers for every aftermarket part, he was still looking for problems. California screwed up and said part # 6604 was approved... my part was 66042. Mr. Le failed my vehicle, took my money and suggested I "sell my vehicle on the black market". Now I have a permanent failed SMOG test on my vehicle report and am $50 poorer, because of him not doing his job. California's aftermarket part system is broken and the tech should be able to interpret it.
