Very quick & professional. I'm happy with the service. My only complaint is that the coupon is misleading .... coupon is for $29.75 and the actual cost was $48. When I pointed this out, he pointed out a certificate cost (which I had seen, but it appears that it's for cars older than 2000) plus small print well below the coupon listing different cost. So what's the coupon?? Feels a little like "bait and switch" but as I said, great service and very, very fast. If the cost had been accurately advertised up front, I would have given them 5 stars. read more

I read a few positive reviews before coming here and agree, they are spot on. I was helped by a very nice man who asked me to fill out a short form. He drove my car in for the test. By the time I finished the form and read through one email (about 5 minutes), he came back inside and told me I was good to go. Truly the fastest, friendliest service ever. read more

So I drive in to EZ Smog today because it was dead empty. I drive up and stop at the entry to the shop. A young man seated at a desk with his back to the doors turns around and looks out at me and stares for a second and turns around and takes a bite out of what looked like a sandwich. I wait over a minute with my engine off thinking, he'll be here in a minute. He just continues to sit there with his back to me. I guess he wanted me to leave. SO I DID!!! After reading other Yelp reviews, I opted to take my car to EZ for the smog check. Yes, I did bring the coupon. Absolutely awesome service. The attendant was clean and smelled good. Had a small issue in that I didn't see that there would be a charge even if I didn't pass and that wasn't explained to me. However, when I went back for the retest they gave me a discount and so it all worked out OK. Other than that they are quick and easy. read more

Needed a smog check - Fast and easy! Went into Ez Smog without an apt and was in/out within 20 minutes. there were two people ahead of me and they have a simple process which kept the line moving. I was given a clip board to complete a simple form and by the time I'd finished it was my car's turn. I had the coupon which was accepted without question and Lee submitted the results on line - super easy! Will definitely go back when I need this service again. read more

I only gave a 1 because there is no zeros. This man that runs it and may be an owner Le Nguyen is probably the rudest business person I have ever met. When you walk in he won't look up and all his comments are rude and he has a huge chip on his shoulder. He was combative about the price and tried to add on extra charges and I stood my ground. I waited for about 10 min and the car was completed. A lovely marine and his girlfriend walked in while i was still waiting and he was triple rude to this young man and was very condescending. Really appreciated his honesty and helpfulness. Had some trouble getting my computer to reset after having the catalytic converter replaced, and he kept checking it for me until it reset and didn't charge to do this. Would highly recommend this place over Valero Smog Check. read more

Do not recommend this station. I have approved aftermarket catalytic converters (2 of 4 were changed). Technician was "confused" as to why only 2 were replaced and not 4. (Other 2 not needed). Wouldn't do test. I assume if you have a New car and no aftermarket approved parts he would be fine. BUT if you don't... DONT GO HERE . He is either not knowledgeable or he is trying to get you to pay more. Maybe because I'm a woman?? Ugh. read more

STAY AWAY or PAY TWICE WHAT IS NECESSARY! I Failed a smog test due to a recent battery failure. After the test, the tech asked if I had had a recent power failure. I said yes; why? He said that critical data was lost, necessary to pass the test. He said i should drive 150 miles to re-establish enough data to pass, and return for another test. Of course, I had to pay for the failed test, and would have to pay for the next test, subsequent to putting 150 miles on my car. I asked him why (as a matter of providing decent service) he did not ask me if I had a recent loss of battery power prior to administering the smog test. He merely pointed to the contract (which I could not read without my reading classes) and said, "It says it right here; it's not my fault!" When I later read it with my reading glasses, it was the only thing in the contract that was underlined. That suggested to me that this OFTEN happens! When I went back after driving 150 miles, I passed without incident. While waiting for my second test, there was a lady waiting to have her car smog-tested. She told me this was her second test, as she had vehicle maintenance done the day before her first test; her car did not pass the initial smog check as her battery was disconnected during the maintenance work. I asked if the Tech at EZ Smog Check had asked (before performing the initial test) if he had warned of test failure, should the vehicle had lost power recently, She said no, but agreed with me, that by not doing so, this appeared to be a SOFT SCAM to extract additional money from EZ Smog Check's patrons.. read more

Got my truck smogged here a couple months ago. I was a little weary at first, but the man working there was very nice. I was out of there in about 20 minutes. Very easy and painless experience. NEVER go to EZ Smog off of El Camino Real! Horrible customer service and horrible service! Lee the owner is super rude! Our car had the check engine light come on when we were taking it to have the oil changed. Our mechanic said that the light had come on just because of the low oil reading and to make sure to drive it 150 miles before having our smog test. We drove it 200 miles and then took it into Smog EZ off El Camino Real because it had great reviews. These reviews must have been OLD. Lee did our smog test and our car passed everything except for at the very end it said the smog test machine said that it could not complete the test because there was not enough information in the car. We asked Lee what that meant. Lee asked us if the check engine light had come on and we told him it had and that we had driven 200 miles he said we needed to drive another 50 and that he had a tool that could read the engine to make sure it had enough data to do the test. We said great we will drive it around and bring it back the next day. Most places retest for free especially since ours had passed and did not need repairs it just needed to be driven more! We asked Lee if we could bring it in tomorrow and he said yes but he would charge $70 for a retest! More then our original smog test!! I would never go there again!!! read more

Car passed all emmisions. He said there was a communitcation error with the computer. Tells me to drive the vehicle 150 miles and retrun for another test and another $70 charge. This guy is crook! Stay away! Bad Business! read more
