I have the pleasure of buying a Les Paul by Gibson guitar from them. Before I made the purchase I check the serial numbers with Gibson and it was manufactured in September of 2017. After purchase I took it to a local Gibson dealer to have some minor work done to it. I found out at that time that it was not a Gibson Les Paul but a counterfeit that I was sold. I contacted Gibson with photos and they confirmed what the guitar store had informed me of. I went back to them and was told that all sales are final. I noticed that they have signed sports memorabilia and autographs in a display case I was wondering how many of those were real also as I was told at the time that might Gibson Les Paul was an authentic model. Buyer beware. After attempting a return I was told all sales are final and they do not do returns. I feel as if I was had and might well be. I can only issue a warning buyer beware.

Today I called to ask about selling an item and was told to bring it in and they will check it out and if they buy it, I would be offered 1/5 of the retail price, which is $500. I know it's in excellent condition and working perfectly. I took it in, the gentleman confirmed it's working, great. Then the manager came over and told him to not buy it for more than $25, because it's not a common item. I understand that policy, don't over pay for something you won't be able to profit off of. But if the manager knows that these types of items are only going to be bought for $25, then the rest of her staff should know that too. How are employees supposed to give accurate information if they don't know the "other rules"??? If customer service is a priority, this would have been a great time to make an exception, pay the 1/5 retail price and do better next time by informing your employees. I don't do a lot of pawn shop business but if I do in the future, it will not be there. I'll be sure to pass along my experience to others as well.

My buddy and I were gun shopping. We decided to check out this pawn shop, I always enjoyed buying…read moresmaller items from here in the past. I over heard a guy walking in and was selling a handgun that caught my eye. While the gun was in limbo, my buddy asked if we could buy it from the pawn shop. We were told it would be up for sale in about 30 days. The guy, original owner of the gun, asked if I was interested in "looking" at it, he was trying to make a quick sell. I said sure and the pawn shop handed the gun back over to the gun owner, since he was still the legal owner, to let me look at it. The lady, older, curly hair, told us that, "If he (gestures to me) wants to purchase the gun they could void out the agreement since he was still technically the owner of the gun, could go outside and we could make a deal. Just not in the store, thats illegal." I did not know we could do that, I had cash in hand with no loop holes, so We agreed to finish talking outside about the pistol. At that time another young lady brought a paper to finalize the transaction knowing it was going to be voided out. He signed the paper to finalize the transaction which in turn would be voided out. They went to get the owner to void it but he walked up and said "Im going to need both of your IDs to trespass you two for making a illegal deal in my building. I pay for the building and utilities and you two would not have known each other if I wasn't here." We told him that his employees said we could void out the deal and finish talking outside, not to buy but to talk. Both employees got loud and said "That's not what we said at all." Which is a lie. The gun owner said "I come here often, this is a store I love to shop at." Because of this i decided $200 was not worth the trouble. So I shook the gun owners hand and told him not to worry about it and to take his money and be on his way. They gave him his money and my buddy and I decided to continue looking at guns. We gave them the benefit of the doubt and asked to see other guns they had in the glass case. The curly haired lady called out across the room and asked the owner if it was OK for my buddy to see a gun even though he had nothing to do with the transaction that never happened. My buddy said "i had nothing to do with that." She then said with a smile. "You had it in your hands, touching it." He responded back "I never touched the gun." and I stepped in as well and said "that I was the only one who touched it." We asked to pull up the cameras to see but she handed my buddy a gun to look at anyway. We ultimately decided to leave with this bitter experience. The interaction, attitude, the level of disrespect and etiquette was about as bad as it could get. I needed $400 for a small real estate deal this afternoon, not wanting to take a cash advance on a card and I thought wow, I've lived in Leander for over 10 years, driven by this store on my way to the car wash next door. Lemme see what I can get. First off, I'm extremely aware of the idea what we have is never worth as much as we think. I've traded in dozens of sets of clubs over the past 50 years, I use the PGA Retail Value trade in guide as a barometer and their book is vers valuable. It's solid. Dicks Sporting Goods, PGA Superstore, Golf Galaxy all use this very guide. And I get it, they only had 2 bags of clubs in there they wanted $60-$100 for and 1 were more than 10 years old, and 1 set was at least 20 years old. I was polite, waited patiently, wasn't expecting anything else...and he wouldn't give me more than $100 for the clubs on a loan, and I couldn't replace the bag & clubs for under $1500. Impossible. Of course, that's probably why they don't have any clubs in there because they're dismissive and rude, and it's fine because I don't need the money that bad. What this little man didn't know was I had a Tag in my pocket I would've sold for $$ he could've made nice money on but once the disrespectful tone & attitude took over that was a non-starter for me. I pawned the clubs elsewhere for $350, which all I really needed. I won't be back, I'll never forget.
