This gym is nice. A lot smaller compared to the other locations. Machines and equipment were well kept. They're the only EoS that I know of in Utah that has a Steam room. The only reason I put a 4 is because the steam room was really dirty when I was there. The smell of piss, mildew and ass. Just need a spray down every other day in there. You could see the grime and little bit of dirt piles at the entrance mixed with the steam wetness. read more

The gym is pretty nice with good equipment and I really like the classes they offer. I will say, this gym has gotten quite a bit more crowded since the Kaysville location closed so that has made the experience a little less ideal, especially considering the parking lot here is tiny. I would like to begin by first stating do not sign anything that this company advises you to especially the Layton Utah facility I've known businessmen that are corrupt and sneaky and crooked but they don't hold a candle to this establishments fleasing of any member that steps out of line and doesn't renew their yearly contract and even when you do it correctly and you cancel your membership they will still charge you and renew your membership without your consent and then not inform you of that and three years later you find out about it and they tell you you owe us money and you better pay because there's nothing you can do about it . Oh and they will try to destroy your credit while this is all going on with their scare tactics and their collection agencies to give you the runaround I won't provide you with any information that you need or proof that you didn't cancel your prescription just threats well no more the $173 they're trying to get from me with their con and their racketeering is chump change it's principle that a company can get away with this s*** and think it's okay well I'll bet a judge will think differently so I'm in the process of suing your ass so you better get ready to do a good job at lying like you normally do what you're very familiar with but I don't think a judge is going to be as gullible as your average member. The gym itself is fine and has a wide variety of equipment, but the staff has not been helpful or understanding. I have been a member of the gym for some time and at one point was switching to a "corporate" membership which means my work would cover some of the cost. I ended up being charged for my new corporate membership and the existing one for months without realizing because the front desk staff could not cancel my existing membership. I spoke to multiple staff members about this problem and was told that I could not get a refund for the months that I had been charged for two memberships. I have been a member of EOS for years but will be cancelling because I don't feel that my situation was handled in good faith by EOS Layton management. read more

Worst customer service and business plan. My son was not using his gym membership anymore and I went in to cancel it. Not only did they charge the next years annual fee even though we canceled within the one year. The manager there at the time said he would see if he could get the few waived. No return call. I went in person last year to cancel a membership with this EOS and not only did they not cancel it, they upgraded my membership and have been charging my card this entire time. When I called to cancel my membership again, they said I'd get charged one more time next month. EOS Fitness (Layton, Utah) One of the perks of working out in different cities or traveling on vacation is the different gyms that I get to work out at. I remember this gym when it was Gold's Gym. I purchased a day pass and had a great workout because it had all of the equipment that I liked, including the older Hammer Strength stuff, sturdy power racks, heavy duty benches, and metal weights (Yes, I have a thing for round and metal weights). The gym has since changed over to EOS Fitness. The good news is that I'm a member and no longer have to pay for a day pass. The bad news hasn't happened yet. I still love the equipment at this gym, but I do know that the equipment will slowly be replaced with the newer stuff as things break down. I'm a fan of this gym until the day that happens. read more

My son signed up for personal training. His trainer quit and they denied him a new trainer yet made him continue to pay for services he wasn't receiving. We've written several notices and been in several times to cancel the membership and they keep charging him. This gym is unethical and awful. read more

I love the Body Jam hip hop class on Weds night! As a matter of fact, I love ALL the Body Jam classes that they have, such a fun way to get a great workout, and the instructors are all amazing. I joined Sportsplex when I first moved to Utah specifically because of this class, and was happy when EoS kept it on the schedule. It's literally one of the best parts of my week- both at the Layton Weds night and Kaysville Saturday morning classes. A few suggestions- PROMOTE this class better! I haven't seen any marketing around the gym about Body Jam and that it's a hip hop class- I think that if more people knew about it the class attendance would be even better. Also, why did they get rid of the big group launch classes? When the gym launched a new routine, all the instructors would join in and teach the class together, and tons of people would come. Made it SO fun! Part of this might be because of Covid and cutting back on large groups... I really hope they bring these launch parties back. Anyway- KEEP THE BODY JAM CLASSES PLEASE! ADD MORE PLEASE!!! 5 stars for Body Jam, 4 stars for EoS because I like the gym but they could use more of these classes. read more

I'm writing this review to give credit where it's due. No one likes change, but I have really come to love EoS. It's amazing what a new coat of paint and some shiney new machinery will do for a gym. The brand clearly takes pride in it's appearance, so I appreciate that. When the transition happened, my coach at the time decided to leave and my file was handed over to another coach, Chris Mabitt. He has made all the difference in my training sessions. I really can't express enough how much I appreciate his perspective on fitness, his patience with working with me, and his overall attitude when I come in. By far the best part about working with Chris is that he doesn't just build confidence -- HE BUILDS KNOWLEDGE. Learning the proper terms and understanding the way the muscles work together or how important the mind-muscle connection is has become such a major part of the foundation of my fitness. I'm telling you - by the time I walk out of our sessions, not only do I feel completely worked out, but I feel good about myself, about my trainer, and about my gym. Step 1) Get a membership at EoS. The gym is good. Probably the best gym culture of any that I've been to. Everyone is friendly, and I rarely see anyone doing stupid things like ego lifting and such. Every encounter with the staff that I've had has been friendly. There's two things about this gym though, that force me to take off a star. First, although not a huge deal, there is clearly no staff member in charge of making sure weights are stacked properly. The entire gym is always disorganized and every time I get to a rack or machine I have to fix it. Yes, it's everyone's responsibility to re-rack their weights right, but it needs to be someone's responsibility to take care of that, because it is pretty bad here. The second thing is both the selection of equipment and the age of the equipment. It's a small gym, and for the size they've done a good job of organizing it. But it definitely feels like they could've incorporated more machines than they have. Another set of cables would be nice, they're always crowded. And more space in front of the dumbbells. During rush hour I have a hard time getting a bench in front of the dumbbell racks. On to the age, there is a lot of stuff that is just ready to get replaced. The dumbbells in the functional training area look like they're 30 years old. Some of the cable machines have broken adjustment knobs and worn paint. The bench racks have the rubberized part completely worn through and are down to bare metal. There's been a 20lb and a 150lb dumbbell missing since I joined in January. The dumbbell racks are bowing in the middle because the ones that are being used now probably aren't meant for the weight that's on them. There's a lot of random things that clearly haven't been replaced since it was Gold's Gym. I will say that both functional training areas are overall nice, the "cave" is very nice, and the cardio area is pretty nice as well. Otherwise, some changes could be made. The gym is pretty great. I do prefer the gym culture here over the gym culture at the Layton VASA. But VASA has nicer equipment for the most part. I will probably stick with this gym because I like the environment a lot, but you seriously need to buy new bench pressing racks. read more

I have been a member at Eos for 5 years now. Before it was golds gym and they let things fall apart and now Eos is doing the same thing. Eos has great instructors but the Layton gym is dirty, mats are falling apart (if you can find one) and it seems as tho upper management does not care about the customer whats so ever. Rather than upgrades they waste their money on TV's for advertising which we could care less about. My opinion is if your going to own such a large business you need to step-up for the customer. read more

Mack signed us up and was incredibly friendly and professional as well. The gym is super clean and has great equipment. The weights were always in the right place and the equipment was up to date. I've been a member of Golds for several years before EoS bought the gyms in our area and I've really enjoyed the new ownership. The gym has been kept cleaner, new equipment was brought in, and more classes added. I have gone to the Syracuse, Roy, Layton, Kaysville, and Ogden locations. Roy was my favorite because the group fitness room was the best and had the best fans, but they are remodeling it now. Ogden has an awesome group fitness room but they only have one High Fitness class which is my favorite. I'm excited to see what the new gyms in Roy and Syracuse are like once those are finished in a year or so. Please add more High Fitness classes to Ogden and Syracuse locations!!! read more

horrible customer service. I go to the EOS in Layton Utah. if you have kids... do not rely on their kids club. It is a horrible system. you have to reserve and they fill up by 7am. if you don't get a kids club reservation, tough luck. EVEN WHEN YOU ARE PAYING FOR KIDS CLUB! they system is flawed and customer service sucks. I would not recommend EOS if you have kids club needs. it is completely ridiculous. read more

I agree with most of the reviews, HOWEVER: Please read the small print on any Physical Training Contract before signing. They ask for a 30 day notice to quit after the six month contract is complete. If notice is not entered in the EOS computer, all charges continue, JUST BE CAREFUL !!! read more
