Rented a Bobcat S70 for demo. They delivered next day on a Saturday morning. The delivery and billing was all fine, the problem was the pickup afterwards. I can't seven remember the days on which these events happened, but here's a general timeline (no exaggeration) Saturday: bobcat delivered (one day rental, "we'll pick up on Monday") Tuesday: I call them, they say a truck broke down or they're having scheduling issues or something. Will get someone out ASAP Thursday: pickup guy shows up and my house, we're out of town. I tell him he can go around the side of the house and pick it up. He says he doesn't want to move the trash cans, will have to come back a different day. They're 3 residential trash cans... Monday or Tuesday: now at least a full week since they said they would pick up, someone shows up. Immediately says he can't drive the bobcat onto his truck, I have to. I told him no, it's not my bobcat. He eventually obliged and drove it himself. The people I talked to in the office were really nice and we're trying to get it picked up. When my husband told this to the staff, they graciously offered that if the power was out when he got home (and it was) he could call to let them know to "start the clock" on the 24 hour rental after the power came back on. So back in 2013 I rented a $80 hand trimmer from this company and unfortunately the hand saw was stolen from my property and I went through hoops and ladders dealing with the police department and other agencies trying to retrieve the property which was found I did return the property to f&b rentals and explain to them my situation and show them the police report and in turn they continued to charge me the late fees anyway stating that it was policy and they had no choice being a mom-and-pop company I don't believe any of that !!! Here we are in 2020 and they are still demanding their money of $110 for the late charges on the hand trimmer that was returned they will not budge and they continue to want their $110 I believe for a company that's Mom and Pop owned they would have some sort of sympathy for my situation and alleviate that debt owed but they absolutely will not therefore I will never do business with this company ever again and I would warn others to be very careful when renting equipment from rental companies I would hate to see somebody else go through this situation that I have gone through they literally sent the balance due to a collection agency which in turn now I have to pay $300 to get this off of my credit! After I spoke with them back in 2015 to arrange a settlement I gave them half of the late fees incurred believing that that would settle the account and yet they still sent the other half to collections this is unacceptable and terrible customer service I can't imagine how hard up for money a company must be to literally send somebody to collections in my situation literally 7 years later for $110 dollers .... Do not book with this company if you have to run a business in a time sensitive manner. Undependable and unprofessional. They will lie and backpedal to avoid responsibility. Called and booked a 20' flatbed truck for 5/24 to pick up equipment for a large job. My customer had closed their restaurant to accommodate this project so it is very time sensitive. The rep I spoke to told me everything was booked and good to go. Come time to pickup the truck, F&B says they have nothing booked and no truck to rent out. The person that took the reservation said she remembers the conversation, but claims I did not book any trucks as she had told me they're booked. I asked them to check my account and they repeatedly said nothing was ever booked. After a few attempts at prying, the person on the phone finally states "there was something booked on 5/20 but it was cancelled". When I asked what was booked and why it was cancelled, they beat around the bush and refused to answer. Finally after more prying they revealed it was for a booking for a 20' flat bed truck but couldn't explain why it was cancelled. It's one thing to make mistakes or double book, but it's not necessary to lie and say that conversations never happened when they clearly did - as if they were trying to convince me that I had imagined booking with them. read more

They said, if it's under 24 hours, they charge me $40 dollars. So, how about when they don't hold their end of the reservation? I never got a recompense of $40. Every time I come in there's a problem with picking up my order, and there's a couple other people inside who also have problems picking up their orders. They often provide faulty trucks, of lower quality than most places, with batteries that die after little use. Also the staff seems to take pleasure in denying people's orders. Great friendly service and unbeatable prices!! Had to rent a root removal machine and came here to get the machine. I had originally gone to Home Depot to rent theirs but they wanted to charge me double for a few hours! Plus, their customer service was so bad (4 guys standing around and not one wanted to help me) and they were rude. Then I went to F & b rentals and they were so friendly and assisted me immediately as soon as I drove up. Their rates are HALF THE PRICE of Home Depot!!! And, there machine worked better than the one we tried from Home Depot. Everyone from the office guy Jose, to the the guys in the yard were helpful, friendly, and fast to load up the truck with the machine. Next day when I returned the machine, they remembered me and greeted me and asked if had any problems with the machine and how it went. Awesome customer service! BAD EQUIPMENT AND CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! We rented a Bobcat from the F & B Tustin Location because a mudslide had caused our house to be surrounded by mud. After using it for 3 hours the right back tire went flat. We took it off and drove back to return it. They said we had to go to their Santa Ana store to get a replacement and that we might be charged for causing the flat. I told them the tire had gashes all over it and had been repaired several times. The replacement looked just as bad and they said it was the only one they had. By the time we got it back and put back on the bobcat we had lost most of the day. That evening after they were closed we got another flat. They were closed on Sunday so we removed the tire and headed back to the Santa Ana store. We called on the way to ask them to have the tire ready and they told us they weren't sure they had another. When we arrived they said they didn't have another and I threw a fit. They now admitted they had another bobcat on the lot and agreed to remove a tire for us. This tire was in much better condition and didn't cause us any additional problems. If you rent here check the equipment closely and be ready to throw a fit to get what they should have given you in the first place read more

I rented a 12' stake body truck with a lift gate from F&B on Sunday, Dec 28. From the first contact, the people at F&B were polite and professional. I actually went to AAA and made the reservation and then later in the week, called them to make sure it would be okay to park my truck at their place while I used the rental truck. They were very accommodating and told me not to worry, many people did the same, and they had a gated yard where I could park my truck. When I arrived to pick up the truck about 7am, I found that they had scheduled a brand new truck for me (only 112 miles on it). The truck worked fine and we were able to get our hauling done and the truck back to them by noon. The total cost, truck rental, insurance, and mileage fee was about $100, very reasonable in my opinion and definitely worth it to me. I could not have handled the loading and unloading without the lift gate. All-in-all, a very good experience. And especially so when I think of some other places where I've rented in the past. read more
