The fajitas are the best in Orlando, if not the best I've ever had. The decor is super cool. The only downside is finding parking, which is generally difficult in the Lake Eola area. Its totally worth it though. I want to give it 5 stars because the food deserves like 10 stars. But...the service when sitting at the bar is extremely lacking. No one EVER checks back in to see if you want another drink, or if you want to order your food, get the check etc. Then its hard to get someones attention to do any of the above. They even have a taco bar inside where they have a cook making the meats and you have all the fixings to put on top. The portion sizes are absolutely perfect (about tapa size) for a bottomless brunch which really allows you to try everything on the menu without stuffing yourself. My favs were the ceviche, carnitas hash, breakfast empanadas, and dolce de leche pancake. I believe as of now for their Sunday brunch they're only taking reservations for table seating but you can walk in and sit at the bar. I visited for dinner tonight and overall enjoyed my experience. The location is a standout, you're steps away from Lake Eola Park and right in Thornton Park, which makes it a great spot to walk around before or after your meal. There's also a nice patio, but I sat inside and the space was beautifully decorated. The staff was welcoming and the service was quick. My favorite part of the menu was definitely the appetizers. The empanadas, Mexican pizza (my first time trying it and it was delicious), and the dip trio with salsa, queso, and guacamole were all outstanding! I would come back just for those. The passionfruit margarita was also good and strong enough where one is enough. The entrée was not my favorite. I ordered the chicken and steak fajitas. The chicken was just okay, and the steak was a bit thicker than I prefer for fajitas, and overall it didn't stand out compared to the appetizers. $25 bottomless brunch?! Sign me up!! Came with Hubby on a Brunch date. We were pleasantly surprised to find out they offer $25 all you can eat tapas style brunch and $20 bottomless mimosas & sangria. We both did bottomless food AND drinks and had a great time. The taco bar was my hubby's favorite. He loves tacos. The carnitas and barbacoa were our favorites, followed by chicken, then beef. They have lots of toppings for you to choose from. A line starts to build up but they do move pretty fast. The rest was tapas style. We had some big hitters and other plates missed the mark but for the prices you cannot complain. Our favorites were the pork belly and the taco bar. Everything else was good but nothing to rave about. The hot honey sauce that comes on the Fried Chicken & Johnny Cake is very spicy and overpowers the pancake but the chicken was crunchy and tasty. The empanadas were filled to the brim, the garlic sauce that comes with them is delicious. Nachos were good, shrimp was good, grits were okay. I don't recommend this place for big crowds. It is a bit small and gets crowded quickly. Staff were super friendly. We didn't get to try a couple plates that we order but never made it to our table in the 2.5 hours we were there but we didn't hold it against them since it was so packed and the kitchen looks very small. They did keep apologizing and letting us know the kitchen was running behind. They kept bringing us drinks and checking on us which is great. I had much higher hopes for brunch here. It's AYCE, but every person in your party has to choose that option in order to dine that way. They also offer à la carte. The food is tapas style, so small portions that come out whenever they are ready. I found only a few of the entrees to actually seem fresh and hot; most of it came out lukewarm and stale tasting. The pork belly bites were the only things I would rave about. The mimosas were basically all juice and no Prosecco. We went over here on Sunday for brunch with friends. Overall it was an okay experience. You have two options for brunch either the bottomless brunch menu or the à la carte brunch menu. The entire table has to agree on which though. This was really disappointing because part of our table wanted to be able to dine à la cart but the other half wanted to do the bottomless brunch. So we ended up doing the bottomless brunch. It runs roughly $25 per person, which is probably one of the better brunch prices, but servings are small. There is also a two hour limit on your brunch experience. The food comes out very quickly, which indicates to me that a lot of the food is pre-prepared. There are a bunch of small plates that you can choose from and a variety of things were chosen. My husband tried the shrimp and grits. It was OK but literally came with just a shrimp. He also tried the pork belly bites and said that those were good although some of them were cooked a little too long so he couldn't even chew it. We both tried the potato empanada with chorizo and found that those were very good and were packed pretty full with meat. I also had a piece of the avocado toast, which is literally just a half a slice of bread that's been toasted with guacamole or avocado slices on it. A friend of ours ordered the nachos for the table and easily was enough to be one person and they were OK - again decent amount of meat which was impressive. I did try the sangria, which is a red sangria. It was OK but very dry. Overall, we had a nice experience, but definitely not on our list of places that we want to go back to. The service was okay-- it wasn't too busy, but the bartender seemed a bit unsure about the menu and had to get another bartender to help answer our questions. We visited F&D on a Tuesday night for dinner around 8pm. They let us pick any table we wanted outside. We were pleasantly surprised by their taco Tuesday menu, which had a bunch of street tacos at 2 for $5 or 5 for $10. Their menu had an exciting selection of other stuff, but most people at our table ended up getting the taco deal. We also started with guac which came with chips and the pork belly bites. The tacos all came out first. Everyone did street tacos except I got the skirt steak tacos. Across the board, the taco shells were falling apart, which isn't unusual for corn tortillas but it felt worse than expected. The street tacos were also largely dry, some of them didn't have any salsa on them. My tacos were delicious and definitely not undersauced. After the tacos, the guacamole came out which was pretty good. The pork belly was also pretty good, but parts of it were really chewy. We got a couple orders of churros for dessert, and they were kind of hard on the outside. They were still fluffy on the inside, so it may have been an oil temp problem, but they weren't very good. They also had (dare I say it) too much sugar on the outside to the point where it was literally all falling off of them all over the place. I definitely wouldn't come back here unless I was just getting drinks, I'd be willing to give that a shot. We ordered the enchilada trio and the chicken burrito. Both dishes had refried beans. Their refried beans is tasteless and bland. My fiance had the burrito, and he has a big appetite and loves Mexican food, but he wasn't a fan of his burrito because of the beans. I tried the green cream sauce it came with and that was AWESOME! I had the enchilada trio served with rice and refried beans on the side. The enchilada was served on a sizzling plate, so 5 stars for presentation. The enchilada itself was pretty standard I would say it's thicker and more filled than standard enchiladas. Service is not that good. Our server checked on us once, 5 mins after he dropped off the food. We were sat outside so he may have just forgotten about us, but we tried to wave him down so many times. We never got a refill on our water. And our bill took so long to get dropped off (I'm actually sitting here still waiting for my check LOL and it had been over 10 mins since we finished eating) Anyways, this place is pretty pricey, so I may try their promos and happy hour and maybe my opinion will change. read more

F&D is a solid Tex Mex spot in the Thorton Park / Lake Eola area. The thing I appreciate most here is that they have a good selection of vegetarian options available via a QR code on the menu. One downside that I learned on my most recent visit is that the rice that comes in the "vegetarian" meals is not actually vegetarian, which no one had mentioned to me before so hopefully it was a recent change. The kind server who informed me of this recommended swapping the rice for more of the black beans, which are vegetarian. The service has been always been good, though at times a tad slow when things are busier. The drinks are good, though again, the bar can be a little slow so you might receive them after your appetizers come out. Overall a great spot with a fun vibe and tasty food and drinks. read more

We tried F&D Cantina for the first time this weekend. I think this is a great location for a Sunday brunch, as you can also walk over to the farmers market at Lake Eola after/before. I made a reservation here on Open Table and had the confirmation/reminders (correct location) as proof but for some reason they could not find it in their system. Thankfully they were still able to accommodate us at the reservation time. The restaurant was full when we arrived, but not too loud or overwhelming, I will say I think they were a little overwhelmed by the recent influx due to social media highlights, so I don't think our experience was representative of their true service/ experience. The staff were nice and working hard to accommodate all guests. The food was good but seemed to be a little inconsistent in presentation as we noticed when the same items came out to different tables. Most of the items I had were great and I would get again, like the nachos, chicken, and pork belly bites. They also off a taco bar. For the price you can't beat it. Note that items are tapas style and most are one portion, so order multiple for multiple people at the table. Overall I enjoyed the experience and will give it another try in the future! read more

I've been here more than a few times. I tend to come here for group lunches with coworkers. The chips and salsa are really good. The chips have a nice flavor and the salsa changed recently so it is a bit more of a blended chunky type salsa. Where it used to be more smooth. I really enjoy the red and green salsa, the flavors are very good. Overall the services is OK most of the time and the food is pretty good. I tend to order the steak and mushroom quesadilla which is quite nice for lunch and filling. I guess I just feel kind of moderate about this place, their salsa is good. The service could be hit or miss depending on who's waiting on you, and the food is pretty good but nothing super special to me. if you're in the neighborhood it's nice to drop in. They have really good drinks and I would definitely recommend their red sangria but the food is OK. Definitely come for a drink and some chips and salsa.
