Cashing checks there is a horrible experience. Why make me sign it then wait 45 mins to verify when you should have stated that in the beginning. I have a Navy Federal military bank account so chasing it at F&M cuts the wait time since no local branches are in the area. Closest one is over 85 miles from here. The representative named Aide was beyond rude and condescending. Then gives me the side eye after I said you should have told me before so I could have went to Walmart and cashed it there. People like her and the other lady behind the desk make me thankful I never got an account there. Then for kicks make me get my Drivers license out while I was sitting a dozen times. Horrible experience and people skills. Then yell out hey they verified it. I stated I have a name since you wanna play that game with me. I came to cash a check for $500 that my grandma had gave me for Christmas. The lady was so rude and ignored me when I was talking. I than realized she was on the phone with my grandma to verify I she had wrote the check. I'm like what!? Obviously she wrote it if she had signed it. The lady rudely explained to me that it's only to protect their customers. No wonder why it took me 2 trips to the bank to cash this check. If my grandma didn't answer the phone she wouldn't have cashed it. My husband lost his card due to fraud and ordered a new card one month ago today. Still no card. Cable shut off, bills behind. All because we dont have a debit card to our account. called today to see about it, was transferred to the branch manager, who said "sorry we are behind on cards." Said she would look into it and call me back in 45 minutes. That was 8:30 am. No call. I will be finding another bank. A little compassion goes a long way. F&M Bank has always been good to me and "had my back". They alerted me when they detected suspicious charges on my debit card that turned out to be fraud, and resolved the issue with the money put back in less than 2 weeks. They encourage patrons to let them know travel plans ahead so they won't flag the activity as suspicious. They call you personally if there are any problems or issues. Everyone is very friendly when you go into the branch in person. I saw some negative remarks about the manager Mercedes and I would just like to say I have not had any negative experiences with Mercedes. She is polite, cordial, and a pleasure to do business with. She's smart and helpful. Everyone at this branch and McGaw Street are awesome folks. I highly recommend F&M Bank in Stockton. read more

F&m bank great! , manager "mercedes" at lincoln center is definitely a crime having her manage/work there Omg!!!!!!! Stay away from this branch location when the manager mercedes is there. Avoid dealing with the manager "mercedes". Shes pretty incompetent and tactless at times. She will indirectly push different offers on you depending on how busy it is. She has waisted mine and several others times this past years. Its like clock work. Very annoying. Very counterproductive. She also has no regard for personal information. Ive heard her say at least 10 social security numbers and other personal info out loud while waiting in line during the last couple years banking there. (Maybe shes unaware but wow SHAME on her she should NEVER say that info out loud). I would report her but she refused to give her bosses email or number and the site has no contacts for district managers. The only reason i go here is my wife likes the shops here in the lincoln center. Im only giving this place 2 stars for the staff which my family and i never had issues with. They the staff excluding the manager are amazing. I never go to this branch location anymore because of how the manager treats certain people. Its pretty disgusting. I do suggest the main branch location on hammer ln. in stockton its only a cple miles away and definitely worth the drive. I suggest Avoiding the lincoln center branch. loaction when the manager is there. read more

Perhaps one of the last banks where they actually know your name. The tellers are really friendly and personable. The free checking is not quite free since there is a $1.50 charge per month which I don't mind paying since everything else with the bank is excellent. I've tried Wells Fargo and Bank of America and they just plain suck. F&M is a welcome change. read more

Poor customer service and they wanted to charge me seven dollars to cash a $200 check from my employer. Absurd when they previously did it for free. Zero incentive for me to become a customer. I'm loyal to Central State and highly recommend them. I'll pass on a second account with F&M. read more

I was with this bank for 3 years, had an opening deposit of $3,000 when the only requirement was $1. I never over drafted my account (only when my account was illegal withdrawn, which I had to pay $60 to block each company who kept trying to take money out without my authorization). My issue first began when they wouldn't let me get a loan of $2,000 for a medical expense...... because my credit score wasn't that hot due to student loans (which I am not in default on) this is the only bank I have had that only give you loans based on credit score, not by the length of time you've been with them or amount of money you make. My income was $4,500 to 8,000 a month so I figured it wouldn't be an issue to get a loan beings they see I do make good money. I got over it and applied for a loan from another bank and was approved for $6,000. The second issue was, I used my debit card for making an purchase out of state and was ripped off! I immediately flew back and disputed it with farmers and merchants and their response "well if the company offer a no refund policy, we can't force them to give you back your money, we advise you contact a lawyer"....................contact a laywer for a law suit for $1800?? 6 months later the company ended up refunding me money and some totaling $5,650 me being a loyal member I took it to F&M to cash and was told it will take up to 7 business days to make sure the funds are available so do not spend the money for atleast 4 business days WHAT????? so I took my check to a check cashing place and got cash same day. my last issues which caused me to not only close the account but to tell all of my 2,500 subscribers on youtube to NEVER Deal with a small bank especially F&M when you have big issues.................... the issue was for some ODD reason the postal office kept returning my bank statements to F&M, I was charge $8.00 for each time of this issue, it happened for four months, (even after showing my I.D and bring lease to prove to F&M bank I still live at the addresse, they would not reverse the charges) on top of that Paypal kept attempting to withdraw funds (Which was their fault) paypal even gave me a letter and even spoke with F&M bank on 3 way................ I was charged $280 (even though F&M didn't cover the charges) plus $32.00 for each NSF charge (Which was 4 times) totaling $440, I was told by F&M regardless if it was by accident, they can't reverse NSF charges or the mount that was attempted to pull out. WHAT???!?!?! why would I pay charges that I not only owe but that even the merchant is saying doesn't exist? I was given the back office number by Mercedes Ramirez for bill fisher ( I am not sure if that was his actually last name) because he was the only one who could reverse the charges. I NEVER RECIEVED A CALL back after out initial conversation which he said he would look into my account to see whats going on. I recommend taking your money elsewhere because this bank proves to me its a corporation first and a financial institution last. I actually received a letter from them stating it will be added to my credit report and the chex system I owe them. Of course I have all of my documentation and prepared to fight this! I have chase and have not had ANY ISSUES. I even have $5,000 in credit with chase and even financed my first car with them. Banks like chase respect your Loyalty!!! obviously Farmers and merchants need to learn the real ethics of dealing with consumers..........especially if they are loyal. read more
