It would have been more than $50 and more than an hour for someone to come fix it. The only luck that I had that day, was that my tire blew out close to Dave's. Joe drove across the highway to my car (saving me the towing fee,) figured out the tire size, ordered the tires and drove back to fix my car. He did all of this while I took my son home so that he could nap. If it wasn't for Joe, I would have been standing on the side of a highway, in the rain, with a cranky, tired two-year-old for what would have seemed like a lifetime. I don't know much about cars in general and tend to accept what a mechanic tels me. That said, I had some necessary work done by a mechanic at Dolphin automotive the week after hurricane Helene came through. All the other local auto mechanic shops were destroyed or out of service due to lack of electric and water service. I was charged $95 for diagnosis (? I already knew what was wrong with the car) plus $95 for a switch (??) and $95 for labor. My car ran just fine when I drove it into Dolphin's station that day. After the work was done, which by the way, did not involve the engine, the car started missing badly as soon as I drove out. Back at the mechanic, told me a part had been broken and I needed to replace the entire assembly. Denied having broken the part, which I find hard to believe. Why would my car run fine before they worked on it, to not run afterwards? As I stated before, Dolphin mechanics have worked on my car several times and have done an ok job, nothing outstanding. I now suspect they pad their invoices but can't prove anything, just like I can't prove the worker broke my part. However, after this last incident I will no longer patronize the shop and will not recommend them to anyone I know.

I was told by Daniel that my warranty only approved 1 sensor. When I called the warranty company myself, they confirmed all 3 sensors were approved. When I brought this up, the story changed several times: * First: "We replaced all 3." * Then: "Actually 4 are bad." * Then: "The tech didn't know he was supposed to do 3, so he only did 1." Every conversation with Daniel came with a different explanation, including him telling me (verbatim) that he "doesn't talk to the warranty company." That was alarming considering the amount of warranty work they were supposedly performing on my car. When I asked for clarification, Daniel quickly shut down the conversation with "I'm not here to argue with you," even though I was simply repeating the information the warranty company gave me. Then I was told I could either bring my car back or "take it somewhere else," despite them already having an active claim and already having been paid for work that wasn't actually completed. If I hadn't called the warranty company myself, I never would've known they were paid to replace 3 sensors but only replaced 1. That is not a minor mistake -- it's a major problem. Between the 3-week delay, the shifting stories, the lack of transparency, and the fact that I had to uncover the truth myself, I'm extremely disappointed in the way this shop is run. If you're getting warranty work done here, double-check everything. My experience with Daniel made it very hard to trust anything I was told.

They're crazy busy so I don't have any expectations. I call my husband to see if his friend who owns a shop about 45 min away can get it done. He can. I dont wanna have to drive out there just yet so I bring my car to Coxe like they advised. As Cat mentioned before it may take a minute to get to my car. It's all good. I'm waiting for only 2 min or less and Cat at the front desk told me they'll get to my car real soon once a lift opens. In literally less than 6 min my car is in the back. Wow! Also waiting in the lobby and the other lady is vacuuming asking me if she's disturbing me. Just friendliness and kindness all around. Then Aaron comes out and tells me that the front piece was being held up by zip ties. Thanks Firestone! Rather than telling me they need to order the parts from Honda like Aaron said, they pieced my shit together for it to just come down. Firestone in Huntersville did me dirty. I'm leaving a review there too. Aaron gave me the piece that was hanging down. Gave me the ONE screw that was there out of like 8 or so that I needed. AND THEY DIDN'T CHARGE ME!!! Thank you thank you thank you so much Kat and Aaron!!! If I ever need work done and have a visit coming up for Asheville, I'll just take my car here. I mean I love Asheville cause most everyone I encounter here are polite and kind, but this is some next level shit for me as a Black Woman. They have maintained it mechanically better and more economically than Hunter's ever did. At the 1st 100K service point, the dealer wanted over $1000 to perform the required service. At the 100K mile point, the water pump also began to leak, Dale's the 100K service by the book and did it right for $600 including replacing the water pump and changing the transfer cases' odd blue oil. Note, I have 360K miles on this vehicle, and so far, has needed a new water pump at each 100K mile interval, it is on its 3rd pump, but, it is amazingly easy to change out, 2 hour job at most.
