Tayler has gone out of his way to try to figure out what is wrong with my car. When my car started stalling & needing to be jumped I was shown that the problem was my alternator. I took it back because it was still having problems. They did everything possible to help me without ever trying to sell me other things that "might be a problem". They only charged me for parts and the labor to install them. They didn't charge me for the time they spent trying to recreate a problem. I made an appointment for my wife's vehicle for a safety inspection here at the end of December, and it passed, with the brake pads noted at 6 and 5mm. Less than two weeks later, my wife took it in again for an oil change, and they said the pads were at 4 and 3mm, needed replacement, *and* all the rotors were bad. They quoted her a thousand-dollar brake pad and rotor job. A subsequent inspection has confirmed nothing is needed and the pads are still at 6 and 5mm. I'm not sure if this was done because she's a woman and they assumed she wouldn't know better, or whether it's standard for them to up-sell unneeded repairs. Either way, I find it unethical behavior. I called to speak with the manager, explained what happened and why we would not return, and was told "thank you for your call." Attempted to replace my catalytic converters. Did it wrong and engine light came back on within a couple days. Brought it back to them and they acted completely cold and like it wasn't their fault. I was persistent and had them run the code and came to find out they were wrong and they did botch the repair. So they replace the whole thing again. A couple weeks later now the exhaust pipe from the catalytic converter came loose in the middle of driving because they didn't tighten the screws well enough. Very poor skills and they also were completely unprofessional when they botched the repair. read more

Hmmm, lots to say. First, in the middle of a pandemic, no one was wearing a mask. In addition, when the mechanic left my vehicle, no cleanup was done to mitigate COVID spread!! As far as my inspection went, well, first I was told that two bulbs were out. With the inspection the total was $50...whoa! I was also informed my brakes were bad, very bad. Interesting, as the inspection last year denoted no issues, and my car has been driven much less because of the pandemic. They said they would pass it "this time," but recommended a "brake inspection" for another $40. When that was done the bill was up to $350. I'm taking back to the place that didn't find anything wrong last year because I believe this place tried to "upsell" me...probably because I'm a senior woman. read more

I brought my vehicles to Fletcher Car Care for 10 years. I used to rave about it to everyone. I don't know if they changed ownership or management but their staff is not as friendly as before and my last 3 visits I encountered problems that seemed careless and rather than being apologetic, I was met with tension. They rotated my tires and didn't bother to mention that I was missing a lugnut, but called me to try to upsale a cabin air filter. I had no clue that I was driving around with a safety hazard. When I called they admitted to knowing about it. Next visit they didn't bother to reset my maintenance light. Lastly, I took my car there for labor and inspection and they quoted me for it. When they said it was available to pick up they had charged me an additional $30 to replace a tag light bulb without my permission. I refused to pay $25 labor for something I would have completed myself and the attendant wouldn't make eye contact with me, talked over me, talked down to me, and shamed me for the capability of being able to do that myself and said they didn't call me on purpose because they knew I would pick up a lightbulb on the way! I don't know what happened to that place but it's not what it used to be! I tried to give grace and work through these problems, because everyone makes mistakes, but have been met with such hostility. Own it, apologize, and DO BETTER Fletcher Car Care!! read more

BEWARE! SCAM ARTISTS! Tried to SCAM me and charge $450 to replace an AC presssure sensor when they UNPLUGGED the sensor and told me it was bad. Neal got hateful when I said I would not let them touch it. All it needed was 1/3rd more Freon and AC works great! Stay away! read more

I took my car there back in late June to have a a/c compressor installed. Actually the car was towed there. It cost over $400 to have this installed. They had to replace the serpentine belt and the labor to put my a/c compressor in. The following week I took the bill to my mechanic in Asheville and was told for what I had done I had over paid. They triple charged me for my serpentine belt and over charged me for my labor which my mechanic said according to the book is only an hour. When I found this out I was upset. I wen there because my mechanic was booked up and needed to have my car for work. The work was good but being overcharged I will not bring my car there again. read more

New to Fletcher. Decided to take a chance on Fletcher Care Care and I couldn't be more happy that I did. I inherited a grandfathers 1999 Monte and keep it as a 2nd and for sentimental reasons. It sits for long periods without being started and after moving to NC it started having to be jumped frequently and the brakes were squeeking a lot. I was in no hurry so, I told them to take their time and give it a thorough look and after 24 hrs with Mark and the folks at FCC they concluded that it was just the excessive moisture in this new climate that was causing brakes and possibly my GPS was causing dead battery. They had every opportunity to find something and to 'soak' me with a big bill and they didn't. I come from a big midwest city and suspect mechanics and auto care techs are commonplace.
