What a joke!! My son-in-law called this company, for service to look at their heat pump. The people at the FH Furr office scheduled an appointment and sold him a 1 year maintenance plan. FH Furr then canceled on the day of the scheduled appointment and rescheduled for the following day between the hours of 12 PM and 2 PM. I drove to my daughter and son-in-law's home and waited between those hours and no one showed up. My son-in-law called me and said FH Furr called him and said they were going to cancel again. My son-in-law argued with them and they said a technician would be out to the home by 4:30PM. Well guess what? 4:30 PM came and FH Furr called my son-in-law and said they would be at the house by 6:30PM. It was dark outside and I told my son-in-law there was no way a technician was going to be able to look at their heat pump in the dark. FH Furr called my son-in-law at 6:30PM and said they had a technician on the way, but he was over an hour away. Homeowners Beware We were left hot and bothered after our shiny and pricey new AC units were installed. We noticed the temperature in our home continually fluctuated. In less than two weeks after spending nearly $30,000 the fan inside one of the units broke. My husband and I got the run around regarding when the new part would arrive and when we could expect a fully functioning system. It took more than a month before our AC units were repaired. It is disappointing to think that a brand new unit wouldn't function properly-- or even be replaced instead of repaired. read more

FH Furr has no respect for their appointment times. Only use FH Furr if you have a completely flexible schedule to work around their schedule, last minute changes, and cancellations. I called 2 months in advance to schedule an HVAC servicing because I need that far in advance to take off work. I called to confirm the appointment the day before. Then, the morning of, they said the technician was running late and that they needed to reschedule the time. It is understandable how that can happen. They rearranged the time slot until later in the day. I therefore had to rearrange some meetings. They called and texted to say the technician was on the way. It took me exactly 15 minutes to reply, saying I was available (which I had already confirmed when I spoke to them earlier in the day) because I was in a meeting. In that period, they cancelled by entire appointment. So it is ok for them to give you almost no warning to rearrange their time slot, but if you do not reply to them instantly, they will cancel your appointment. When I called, they were completely unapologetic. I highly do not recommend using this company. read more

Predatory pricing. Predatory practices. Predatory service. Had a $75 condensate pump replaced on air conditioner. Tech came out and was painfully and purposely slow. I had to start helping to get him out and the project was never completed properly. He refused to give me a price when asked twice. He just said,"It won't be bad." I expected maybe $400. In the end he handed me a bill for $1400! Stay away from this company! Predatory in every way and milked the time on the job. Find a better company. I was using R&B HVAC since 1985 until FH Furr bought them out. From the beginning there were problems, from them not responding, to having no information about me on file (from 35+ years with R&B!) to scheduling mix-ups. Yesterday I was scheduled for an HVAC maintenance checkup, set a month ago. After waiting for the 4 hours arrival window to come and go, with no calls from the company about the ETA, I called and requested an ETA. After no return call for 30 minutes, I fired them and requested a refund of my unused maintenance contract. This was the third time in a row that this has happened. To quote a previous Yelp, "FH Furr has no respect for their appointment times." They need to spend less money on advertisements telling us how good they are and more money on actually getting better. R&B never did this. Shameful. read more

The techs are all very nice, but the prices are ASTRONOMICALLY overpriced! Charged over $350 to replace a toilet fill valve and water line connect. And that was WITH the discount from having a service contract. Was also quoted almost $14,000 for an HVAC repair and $19,000 for a replacement (they wanted $37,000 to replace and add mini-splits for the hot bedrooms - which we didn't need - they are perfectly cool now with our new system and damper adjustments) when another company was able to do it with better equipment for only $11,000. Was also quoted $3,500 (with the service contract discount) for an attic fan and had another company do it for only $1,800. Will never call them again. Like I said, the techs are really nice, but what they are charging is just ridiculous. read more

Don't go with this company. They are a vendor of Costco but they're not cheaper. After there, "Costco discount", they were still $4000 higher priced than Reddick and Sons in Woodbridge, Virginia. Their salesman sit here and lied to me through the whole process. Don't believe in that Costco discount at all. This is the highest price company in Northern Virginia. I have had 3 of the WORST experiences with this company. I feel it's my responsibility to let people know how this company operates. They try to upcharge you on things right and left. Here are my 3 interactions with this company. 1 - July 2023 It is 100 degrees and we have no AC upstairs. Call FH Furr to come out (that was my first mistake). Tech shows up around 1. We tell the tech we aren't sure if the problem is electrical or hvac in nature. Tech does not even go upstairs to the attic to check our unit. Decides it's electrical without doing any work. But, tells us the outdoor units need to be cleaned and that it was affecting performance. We pay the $$$ for the cleaning. He also sells me on a service contract. We wait until 8 pm for an electrician to show up. We pay the extra fee for after hours. The electrician tells us it's definitely our hvac. The electrician was very nice and told us the hvac guy didn't follow company protocol. He tells us we should call and see if we can get some of our money back from the emergency electrical fee. Mind you, this house is 3 years old at this point. We all have to sleep on couches overnight because it's 90 degrees upstairs. A different tech shows around 1 the next day. He fixes the upstairs unit and again reiterates how crazy our experience was the day before. FH Furr did nothing to make up for their error. 2 - October 2023 Since I have a contract with this company, I decided to call them to install my new instant hot/filtered water dispenser on our kitchen sink. I already have one installed, but the filtered water lever was broken. I bought a new one to replace it. All they had to do was change out the dispenser on the counter top. Nothing needed to be done under the sink. AND, I already bought the part! This guy quoted me $942 to do a simple swap. I sent him away because I felt taken advantage of. FJ Hooks plumbing came out that day and did it for $250. I felt completely taken advantage of because I was a woman. 3 - January 2024 I get a call for my service contract inspection. My window is 12-5. Guy shows up at 5. It's my son's birthday. It's dinner time. He's telling me how dirty our units are and they need to be cleaned, etc. My husband, against our better judgment, agrees to have them cleaned. Guy showed up yesterday (at 5 again) and starts his "cleaning". He doesn't finish til around 7:30 pm. We wake up this morning to no heat in the house at all. Everything was working fine before FH Furr looked at it. This is not my first house. I have never seen a cleaning where large parts are taken out and hosed off and put back in. I have no idea what that guy did, but we are freezing. We have no heat at all. It's 60 degrees in my house. UPDATE: new HVAC guy came. The original guy from yesterday never turned the downstairs unit back on at the base. The upstairs unit was a completely different story. He put the fan in backwards and never hooked the wires back up. Oh, and he left my hose on last night in January. My son realized it when he put the trash out. I feel completely taken advantage of. We have spend close to $7,000 over this year with this company and no outreach from them. read more

Nice people, but aggressively overpriced for very simple tasks, like fixing a toilet.

We had been Dwyer Plumbing customers for a decade, they were acquired by FH Furr. Dwyer was amazing, FH is just a mess. We have an old unit, our inspection technician brought a sales guy with him. He claimed we had a gas leak and shut down the appt. They used this time to pressure me into a new unit. Mind you I didn't invite the sales guy, other asked for inspection. After getting them out of my house Furr finally sent someone to check the gas leak. This took 3 calls from me. Seems they were more interested in a new system sale than my family's safety. Furr's gas guy came out with no instruments - says he uses his nose instead. My complaints to management went unheard and when finally called back they seemed annoyed that I was complaining about their poor service. I've fired them and had 2 other companies do the inspection. Guess what? No need for a new system, no gas leaks - just a technician trying to make money on a new system sale. AVOID THIS CLOWN SHOW. read more

Bought an AC/furnace (Lennox) and after 11 months the furnace broke. Luckily it broke within a year so it was covered under warrantee so they gave us another one, a higher end unit. The AC was problematic since day ONE. It constantly shut off by itself. Imagine being out all day, then coming home with young children to a HOT HOUSE, even though you left the AC on....this was a common occurrence. Of course it would take hours for the house to cool down again. The technicians weren't much help, had no idea why things kept breaking. They tried to fix things, charged us more and more money everytime. Eventually the furnace broke again after only a few years. We had no choice to spend yet another TEN GRAND on a new unit....this time with another company! This is a horrible company...avoid! read more

This has been and still is a horrible experience. Exactly a week ago a technician came out to my house for their $49 water heater flush. while In the process of flushing my water tank my valve/plug broke and flooded part of my basement and not my take is unusable. I was promised restoration team would come out to deal with the flooding and a manger would be contacting me the next day on how and when my water heater would be fixed/replaced. Before for the Technician left, he provided what I was told would be temporary solution so I could still use the water coming in my house, that was a week ago. Since then I have not had hot water in my home and me, my wife and 3yr old daughter have been forced to to take cold showers. To make matters worse, I only heard from someone at FH Furs after I reach out to them again and left multiple messages. The manger finally called me two days after the incident and promised to fix the issue the next day, only to send me an invoice, and not return any of my calls since that conversation. Someone eventually contacted me from the escalation department on Thursday of last week with no updates whatsoever only to have to reexplain my entire situation with no immediate solutions and just a promise to call me on Monday. It's Monday 6/16/25 at 4:30 pm and I have yet to hear from anyone. read more

Technician didn't diagnose the problem properly and was focused more on writing up expensive estimates for a laundry list of repairs which didn't solve the initial problem. Still charged me $300 without fixing the problem at all. Would not use again. This is a sales shop, focused on selling before quality tech. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! OWN PLUMBER SAYS THEY GROSSLY OVER CHARGE. THEY ALSO ADD EXTRA/UNNECESSARY WORK TO RACK UP CHARGES. MADE SITUATION IN MY BATHROOM WORSE AND DID NOT DISCLOSE THERE WAS NO COLD WATER AND SHOWER INSTALLED DID NOT WORK. On 1/12/24 and 1/19/22, FH Furr performed both unnecessary and incomplete work at my home, misled me about the need for replacement and repairs, and caused undisclosed damage when attempting to install a new panel. On 1/12, the plumber falsely claimed the shower panel could not be repaired and told me I had to buy a new one. He identified a new panel on Amazon that would fit the brackets on the wall. He falsely claimed there was no shutoff valve to the panel. He thus charged $313.99 to build CPCV capped lines when he could have used the shutoff valve in the adjacent wall and $523.32 for "uninstalling customer shower panel and discovering leak" - i.e., lifting the panel off the wall and looking at the back of it. I could not find the uninstalled panel after he left. On 1/19, the same plumber did not properly install and damaged the new panel. He claimed the brackets were in the wrong place to install the new panel, despite his having measured the wall and picked the unit himself. He knowingly left the panel hanging loose on the wall, with no ability to dispense any cold water and partially functional. He damaged and charged me to replace a supply riser tube he used when attempting to install the new panel. He also admitted taking the original panel without my permission. He offered it to other Furr plumbers! I was charged $861 for the failed install and $133 for the riser tube. The plumber admitted that Furr grossly overcharges customers and he would never use Furr. On 1/19, I reported this to Furr. Furr ghosted me on Saturday, 1/20, after claiming a plumber was being dispatched and then would not send my electronic invoices. An agent called me on 1/22 claiming he would confer about reimbursement and call me back. He ghosted me. I paid $2,496 for Furr to fail to resolve my water issue, take my spa shower, damage my new spa shower and leave me with no cold water in the bath and tub, a problem I did not have before they came. My wife paid for the service contract, so I'm not sure what those prices are. However, they relentlessly and obnoxiously upsell during the heating and cooling inspections, and try to get you to buy services such as air duct cleaning,which are of little value for most home owners-I think they try to sell fear by showing you pictures of the inside of your ductwork (OMG it has dust in it). Some of their pricing and pricing options are absurd. My recommendation is to consider them for a new system if you can get the Costco pricing, do your research before accepting any of their service recommendations, and then ditch them when the initial warranty period of your furnace or AC rolls off. read more

TERRIBLE COMPANY. Do not hire FH Furr-- they price gouge, try to upcharge by THOUSANDS of dollars, misdiagnosis problems with your major appliance (charging over $800 without repairing the problem) and then insist that you need to spend an additional $3500 for work that wouldn't be handled for another two weeks. I distrusted the technician's claim of what I needed, since my system was less than 5 years old. Two other AC companies gave estimates around $150, and got my AC working in 15 mins. The Furr technician couldn't fix the problem and tried to charge me a total of $4300. Plus, when I canceled my monthly plan within 24 hours, the company still charges me. We woke up smelling smoke and found our hot water heater was on fire. Luckily, we were able to put it out. Chris, the plumber from F.H. Furr arrived by 9:15 that morning. We have a disabled son with a special bath setup so having hot water in our home is very important. Chris was professional and very friendly. He communicated clearly about what needed to be done and made us feel comfortable that he could get the job done quickly. Despite some very specific needs Chris was able to replace the heater the same day. I would highly recommend Chris and F.H. Furr. read more

Apparently, FH Furr had a merger with Dwyer Plumbing. Dwyer-Lorton Road has always been 5-star for me. So far, with the merger, FH Furr has become 5-star too now. They have installed an HVAC system, a Gas Boiler and numerous plumbing systems for me. I am very happy. Nabil is exception. He is professional, friendly and knowledgeable for older homes. F.H. Furr responded to our call for help in diagnosing and dealing with a water softener system problem. We had checked online manuals and a series of YouTube videos but really needed a technician who knew his way around water softener systems. Furr dispatched Andres Munevar to our home. Andres diagnosed the excessive and discolored water in our brine tank and we agreed he would clean the brine tank and add new salt, which he did today. In addition, Andres answered more than a dozen questions about our system that the online resources did not touch upon. We were so impressed. When you need water servicing, having a technician in the home is way better than trying to figure out what's happening by using online resources. Andres is a great ambassador for F.H. Furr and a pleasure to deal with as a customer. read more

After being told they could come same of my contact, there were several follow up noticed that tech would would be delayed. As it turned out, I had to schedule for next day appointment. I turned down several other calls based on their availability. I spoke with representative and offered to send pic of the fixture and model number so the technician would be aware before arriving. However, the representative convinced me that wasn't necessary. Upon his arrival, he spent close to a hour just trying to figure out how to remove the spout. My patience ran out and I asked that he leave and troubleshoot the removal outside my home. What he explained before leaving my home was outrageous. He did promise to send me a quote that I received but didn't accept. I spoke with the manufacturer who informed me if how to remove spout and offered to work me through the 15 minute removal and re-installment.
