Our AC went out. It was in the high 90s and I was suffering from a horrible case of poison sumac. Checked ratings. Called H. They came out immediately even in the HOT HOT weather. Suddenly, but not unexpectedly, our entire Heating and AC system was shot. It was old and giving us trouble, so it was a shock. We were given options. Each option was explained clearly to us. We knew if we did AC only, when this or next winter came, we would be back with more work to do. We appreciated that every alternative was clearly explained with its pluses and minus. Financial options were also clearly explained. We choose to replace our entire Heating and A/C replaced. The repairman worked to get us some temporary ac. They were able to come within a couple of days to do the installation. The office staff were friendly and clearly explained our options again. The installation was scheduled within 3 days. They came. Worked hard. Completely cleaned up after themselves. Explained everything again, leaving the service manual with us. We were not pushed to make a hasty decision. We were told to compare with other companies. If all home repair companies adhered to the ethics and work as this one, Better Business Bureau would have nothing to do. Highly recommend. read more

The best part is that their scheduler provided 1 hour windows for the appointment, and the technician arrived on time! This was important because we were traveling and coordinating with our house sitter and his schedule. Another note. Our HVAC system is extremely old and really should be replaced. The technician did not try to upsell us on a replacement but provided the minimum repair needed to keep the system running until we are ready for the bigger project. The sales manager Lupe quoted the most competitive/best price for the whole Carrier system. I am very satisfied with their work ethics, a crew of three, the leader Ruben and technicians Lorenzo and Jose finished a neat job on time. The inside cooling, gas heating furnace was installed with all new tubing, sheet medal and PCP pipes, the out side condenser unit was level and square with new gravel under the pad (not crooked like many other), and they cleaned up everything after the job. After my experience with them, I do not trust many of the reviews on here. We had an issue with our HVAC unit freezing up. It took them 3 visits, multiple tests, and over $500 later to tell us we had low refrigerant. It is also only a few years old and has gotten significantly louder, but we have no explanation. Low refrigerant seems like an issue that should be detected on the first visit. They may seem nice, but they are a total rip off. read more

Emelson did an amazing job installing 2 decorative gas lights/lanterns for our front door. The job was not a usual or easy one so they explained to me what was needed to be done and why they would do it that way. They explained to me that their company will take care of the entire job, from making the connection to the main gas source, running the gas line through the internal/external walls, to installing and testing the lights to ensure they were working properly. That is in contrast to other gas plumbers that offered only to run the gas line or simply told us that they didn't do that type of work. We had a number of people come quote us for the work and this company was by far the most reasonably priced. Emelson and his partner were very professional and also friendly, courteous and clean. They wanted to make sure we were satisfied with the work, so after we raised a concern they came a few days later and did some additional work to ensure we were completely satisfied. There's a reason that this place is rated five stars. Having moved into our first home, we were clueless to the "joys" of home ownership, which includes a lot of maintenance. I interviewed four contractors for replacement of a 30 year old heat pump in a second floor office condominium. I was prepared to not go with the lowest proposal based on my impressions and features of the installation, however, not only was 495 HVAC's proposal the most complete, had the most included features, could perform the installation the earliest, they were lower than the other three proposals by 5-10% for larger/better equipment. Installation was difficult due to the location and the condition of the deteriorated flexible duct work which they replaced per my request for very reasonable money. Four techs did the installation in 9 hours including the duct work and cleaned up thoroughly all in a polite courteous manner to my office staff. I can't thank them enough as I sit here enjoying a 95 degree day with magnificent cooling after going without for a week, mercifully temps in the 80's during the early part of the week. read more

Really like this business. I have been through so many ups and downs with other HVAC companies and it is refreshing to have these guys do work in my place. They are very respectful and wear the covers on their shoes to protect the inside of my condo. Their work always seems to be top notch. I have had issues with a few things before with them and they came out after I got home from work to talk to me so it could be sorted out. This really impressed me because other technicians from other companies wanted to charge me money to come out and getting them out after work was hard. Some companies supplied me with a 4 hour window no matter what the work was, even if they messed up. Not this company. The only complaint I have about these guys is with getting quotes on things. I have dealt with them on 2/3 separate occasions and all of those times I had to stay on top of them. Once I had to even send an ultimatum because it had to do with my hot water heater/heat not working properly last January (and I need hot water/heat during that time). We needed to have our HVAC system checked and I picked this company because of all the positive Yelp reviews. I was very impressed with the professionalism and friendliness of the technicians! Scheduling was a little tricky as I first called the week between Christmas and New Years. So I tried again via email after the new year and got a reply right back. All of my questions were answered and I was able to schedule an appointment for the next week. The day of my appointment, when no one had shown up by the assigned time, I called and spoke with a very nice gentleman who apologized for the mixup and said he'd send two technicians out right away. They arrived within a half hour or so and conducted a very thorough check of our HVAC system, including taking pictures which one of the techs showed me while providing a detailed explanation of how our system was running. They even knocked off $30 from the price I was quoted as an apology for the scheduling mix up. I highly recommend this company! read more

Woke up to a chilly house and the heater blowing nothing but cold air. I called my home warranty company and they ordered a service request from some local company. Come about 2 o'clock and hadn't heard from this company. So naturally I get on the Yelps and mass-blasted a quote request. Companies were quick to answer...but the earliest would be during the week when I cannot be at home because of work. Then Lupe messaged...said he could be here today between the hours of 5 and 6. He let me know what his rate was just for diagnosis which I feel is completely fair being that it's a Saturday evening. Not quite an emergency call but I did not want to be cold. Lupe shows up. However, I wanted to thank Lupe for his time in helping me out, and if this other company does not get the job done, my first call will be to 495 HVAC. I noticed over the past couple weeks my HVAC was not putting out hot air. Being a homeowner newbie, I'm still learning how all my systems work. It was time to let go. Sick of all the nonsense price increases in the Arlington area, I decided to shop around a bit. I got 5 total estimates. I was looking for a 2.5 ton HVAC unit, 14-16 seer. I preferred Carrier/Rheem but received estimates for Trane and Goodman as well. All vendors except Arlington Heating were able to give me next day estimates. Arlington Heating made me wait 4 days. Which btw, Arlington Heating prices were a joke. The other 4 estimates were not even close to their fake numbers. 495 HVAC is an incredible company. I didn't believe these personable companies still exist. Not too big where they never call you back or take over a day to answer 1 question but not too small where they don't have a performance history to look back on. The receptionist is polite and responsive. JC, the manager, came out for the estimate. He's easy to talk to, straight forward--no tricks, gimmicks or games. He gives you a reasonable price and you decide. No pressure. Very professional and knowledgeable. He answered all our spec and techy questions. I had a few follow-up questions and each time I received a response within a few hours if I couldn't get a hold of them on the phone. For the reasons listed above, we chose 495 HVAC. They had the best price, and professionalism. The scheduled installation time was between 9am-10am. The 2 men showed up at 8:50am! Love the promptness. They wore covers on their shoes the entire time. Even when we said they didn't have to, they insisted. I had a barking/aggressive chihuahua and they were patient and friendly with my crazy dog. The 2 men worked the entire time on installing our new unit and taking out the old one. Everything was cleaned up at the end and you never knew they were there. Once finished, they checked everything to make sure it was working as it should. After 2 weeks without AC, I was ecstatic to feel the cool air coming through the vents. JC (the manager) came out to meet us to review everything and ensure everything was done to standard. What manager comes out to check the handiwork?! Amazing. He went over care instructions such as filter replacements etc. He asked if we had any questions on how to use our unit or upkeep. I never felt rushed. He stayed and answered all questions patiently. Only when I was satisfied did he start closing out the invoice and payment process. I never felt that this was a strict transactions (pay up, get in and leave). There was intent and care every step of the way. My father was there with me as a second opinion in case anything goes wrong. He said JC is a very upstanding, honest, and easy to work with. If you are just weary of the fake Arlington price hikes, bad customer service from a too-big company, and desire a more tailored, professional, company who puts care into their work and reputation, then go with 495 HVAC. Not to mention--they had THE BEST price point. JC and his employees put intent in their work. It really showed they cared. The reason I know? My father, a retired handyman, hovered the entire time. Did they mind? You would never know! As a female, I was concerned about getting ripped off, paying for unnecessary equipment and sloppy work. My HVAC system began acting strangely at 8:30 PM on a Friday night. I went to Yelp and asked 11 local HVAC companies for a quote. I got about 8 quotes, and all of them were within $10-20 of each other. I picked 495 HVAC because they were the most responsive. Lupe didn't just give me a quote, he used Yelp's chat/message system and asked me some questions, gave a detailed description of what he thought might be happening, and helped me run a few tests to better determine what the problem was. He was happy to answer all of my questions for free via Yelp before we scheduled anything. We made an appointment for Lupe to come see my HVAC system the very next day, and he was able to come an hour early. He did the work we talked about and charged me exactly what his estimate on Yelp had been the night before. He did not try to upsell me on any expensive, unnecessary further work, and he actually showed me how to do it so I could do it myself next time. I'm going to be nice they offer just about all the major brand heat pump but they charge you $125.00 to get them out to sterling for an estimate for a new system install they will put the money toward your system if you purchase from them but they could over price there systems not only that once you buy and your under the one or two year warranty on labor are they going to charge you or only offer you a few days tor service. read more
