This is absolutely the "Ol' Time Hardware store that is almost no more. Although they have recently expanded, they still have the old wood flooring in parts of the store, and it surely has that feel of a hardware store from years ago. Before you go to the "Big Box" stores, stop by and give Smith's a go. EVERYONE there absolutely knows what's going on and all the employees are extremely helpful. I haven't been able to stump them once, although that's not my purpose; they know exactly what they are talking about. Don't be fooled by the beautiful young ladies who work there either, they know more than most contractors do. Take your kids there, if nothing else, to give them a feel of days gone by. Oh, and if you need anything, they've got it, or, if they by some small chance do not, they can tell you where to get it. Smith's Hardware is where we shop! read more

I have done limited shopping there but went there specifically to have my echo trimmer looked at. The owner, Lex, and son Lexi were awful. Not up front with paperwork. Fixed trimmer without being given consent or giving me the estimate. They then threatened to keep my trimmer. They would not work with with me for a mutual resolution. I even offered to buy a new one, from them, with the repair credited to the bill. They refused that and any other solution I came up with. They offered nothing other than tearing it down and charging me $20 for an estimate I never received. The owner then told me I owe $30 for taking his time on the phone with him (I waited 5 min for him to simply get to the phone). Lex then told me that, in 2 wks, he was going to keep it. Lex was very rude and took a threatening tone. I asked for a repair order and the estimate. He said he would mail it but I have never received. This is a down and dirty account of my horrible experience that continues to not be resolved. read more
