The trainers here are exceptional--they're constantly watching your form during lifts and providing real-time corrections to ensure you're working safely and effectively. The gym itself is impressively clean and well-organized, with equipment always in its place and ready to use. What really sets this place apart is the structured programming: every quarter you test your one-rep max, then follow a tailored program designed to increase your strength over the next three months. I've felt myself getting stronger week by week, and the staff has been incredibly accommodating with modifications as I manage knee arthritis. Cody deserves special recognition for keeping things fun and engaging. Right now he's running a bingo card challenge where hitting certain objectives earns you a Starbucks gift card, and during the holidays he did a "12 Days of Christmas" raffle for everyone who showed up. These little touches keep you motivated and create a great community atmosphere. I dropped in from out of town and found two splendid things about CrossFit HAP: a personal, caring and pusher of a trainer in Marissa. The advantage of a small operation like this is that for a new guy like me to CFit, you still need help getting good form for the movements. Wish I could relocate Marissa to WindyCity CFit which has a great bunch of coaches as well. The other aspect is the welcoming community I experienced in two days of working out there. When I'm back in town, I'll be coming back here.

Therefore I feel the need to do my duty and warn the community about this gym. I've been going here since they opened the doors & simply loved it. My group of friends began to build a community here, then the "owner" came crashing in - changing times - coaches - policy's. Fast forward to yesterday for the 4:30 pm class, walked in at 4:33pm and the new "head coach" basically said sorry bout ya and to come back for the 6pm class. (This was my instagram comment before deleted and blocked) This is also the same location, where after the turn over of coaches happened, the owner waltzed in at 4:59am to train the 5am class. Glad the standards are set high. There are plenty of other gyms around, some with a very similar style, but do yourself a favor and avoid this place. Business ownership 101: you don't delete negative reviews - you approach them in a calm and connected manner to find a solution. Lastly you don't screw over your members, they are the ones paying the bills.

The facility is pretty clean and the coach does a great job of making sure you're taking care of your body by keeping you accountable on your form or giving modifications if needed. They are more circuit type of workouts so it reminds me of Orange Theory classes. Of course what you put in is what you get out of it. I would recommend this gym to anyone who's looking for more of HIIT interval workouts! They also provide water bottles (for free!) and towels during your workout for you.

I have a membership and I don't get to use it often but when I do, it's worth every penny and I truly enjoy that. It's not ever crowded. Not ever packed everything. We need to have a good workout. The bathrooms are nice and clean I especially love that one of the bathrooms has a shower. And if you forget your supplies as a rental vending machine, which I think is pretty cool I like this location is over 24 hours and you can always come in and get a workout. I have used the weight system and it's nice and effective and gets the job done. My absolute favorite part whatever pay the little towels that have essential oils in them for after a workout. Parking is sufficient and I have never had a complaint. The only thing that I hate is it right next-door to Crumbl cookie. Lol the temptation is real. I can't think of anything that would make this location better so for that I'm leaving a five star review. Thank you for your customer service and commitment to physical health.

Extremely disappointing experience at HOTWORX McKinney (University location). I've been charged…read moremultiple times without any notification, reminder, or communication, and every time I've had to deal with the same response: once the money is taken, there's supposedly nothing they can do because they "don't refund." I canceled my membership in February after already attempting to cancel it previously. I was under the impression that it had been canceled, only to find out months later that the previous employee apparently put my account on a pause until September instead of actually canceling it. seven months later, I was charged again. I live over an hour away from this location, and hadn't received any communication about since May. Mind you, I did try to work with them, maybe move to a location near me, so I could use the month that they charged me for, but according that wouldn't work unless I upgraded my membership.... The other solution they offered? A free month at their location. I don't want an "additional month" and like how will that fix anything when I literally live over an hour away. That's literally over two hours of driving plus gas for a 15-30 minute workout. How is extending a membership to a location I'm not near, supposed to fix the problem? The customer service throughout this situation has been just as disappointing. The employee spoke to me in a very sarcastic and dismissive tone while I was trying to resolve the issue. When I called to cancel again, she said, "It's canceled, have a good day, bye!". I was literally still trying to speak to her to make sure I would get a confirmation email of the cancellation, but couldn't even ask because she end the phone call. I called back the next day and was told that I would be hearing from the owner through text regarding the situation. I never received that text. I never spoke with the owner. I was also told, essentially, that they could ask the owner about a refund but that she "probably wasn't going to refund me." If you're going to ask the owner, then ask the owner. Don't tell the customer what the answer is going to be before the conversation even happens. At that point, I had no choice but to let my bank handle the situation. And thankfully I did, because tell me why, after ALL of this, HOTWORX Mckinney attempted to charge me AGAIN today.‍ I have already tried to cancel. I have spoken with the employees. I was told the account was canceled. I was promised follow-up from the owner that never happened. And somehow, I'm still being charged. HOTWORX markets itself around health, wellness, and caring about its members, but my experience has shown me that they don't seem to care much about you as a customer once there's a problem. If they genuinely cared about their customers, a situation like this should have been a simple customer-service issue to resolve. As a business owner myself, I would never let my customers have an experience like this. And mind you, I still never received a confirmation email for my cancellation. And they are still trying to charge me, so I guess it still not actually canceled. Who knows at this point. I'm completely over it. I will not be going back to this location, and I'm not going to say not to go to Hotworx because I know one of the instructors and the workouts are great, but THIS location I would not recommend. If you're considering joining, please make sure you understand exactly how cancellations, pauses, reactivations, and automatic billing work and get EVERYTHING in writing. I haven't worked out in a while and was nervous about joining a gym that would be too intense. I appreciate that the workout here is 30min. It really worked me, and I could do it! I have knee pain, and the coach made sure to help me with modifications so I could still work out, but not hurt my knee. The staff is very friendly and helpful! You go through all the stations, and each one has a video for you to follow. Very little thinking is required. Top notch for me personally. I haven't had to use it yet, but there is a key fob system that allows members to come workout during non-staffed hours. Firmly team no kids, but they also have a little kids area to sit your kiddo. I know this is unusual as my sister complains often about not being able to workout at a gym. My only wish is if they had a sauna but it's not enough of a want for me to not go. I'd much rather have personalized service. It was clean, friendly, and i had a great workout! I am excited for my membership, and highly recommend checking them out!
