At most places the free trial actually gives you an idea of what you'll be doing if you join and how challenging it would be, but after this one I actually still had to go to the gym afterwards to get a workout in. They left me alone on the treadmill for 10 minutes of cardio and then gave me one set of reps on a total of 4 super basic exercises to see where I was at physically. It took less than 20 minutes and I spent less than 10 of them with a trainer. I never felt challenged. To top it all off they never gave me any info about my results, or what future workouts would entail, or how they would get me to my goals. If they had given me anything tangible I may have forgiven the lack of initial challenge, but instead they gave me a sheet of expensive packages and asked me what I wanted to sign up for. I'm in pretty good shape already, so I'm not sure if they thought I wasn't worth the time because I don't have hundreds of pounds to lose, or what, I was just shocked that they didn't really seem to care to sell me on why I should join or give me a good initial experience. After leaving I was super bummed because I felt like I could've loved this place. I ended up joining a different company's program instead.

However, with Sanctum CrossFit, I feel like I have finally found my new home! Sanctum CrossFit is the best, most welcoming and supportive CrossFit gym in the Prosper area and North Dallas suburbs. I have had the chance to work out here a couple of weeks and I have enjoyed the programming, coaching, community and the gym environment itself. The coaches are hands-on, knowledgable, encouraging, and CrossFitters themselves. They have coached me through strength, conditioning, gymnastics, and more. The CrossFit programming is also the traditional WODs you would see at a CrossFit affiliate gym. For example, here at Sanctum they work through strength cycles, different skills, short and longer workouts, and even partner WODs on Saturdays. They are encouraging of their athletes competing in local competitions as well! The gym itself is large with two sides, one side being an open gym and also utilized for youth classes sometimes. The gym is accommodating to large class sizes, but that doesn't take away from the community feel you get when you workout with the group. I have throughly enjoyed working out with every person and coach I've met here so far. I appreciate all of their encouragement and support, there is nothing better than getting through a challenging workout together! Ultimately, Sanctum CrossFit has checked every box for me as an experienced CrossFitter. So many fun toys, and the child watch staff takes great care of her. The "floating floor" is a game changer. It makes plyo moves and jumping feel so much better on my joints. I find I am able to do more and burn more calories as a result. The mobile app is great. You can book camps in advance, see who is coaching, and keep track of how many camps you've attended throughout the year. They offer a variety of class times that work for working moms like me. I really hope they add one Sunday class at some point, but otherwise this gym is pretty perfect.
