With Patriot, communication was stellar throughout. After I submitted a quote request online, I received an email back within 24 hours with a very reasonable quote. I had a couple of questions and the rep (Allison) was great. She even suggested putting some extra information in the notes about where to do the pick-up and drop-off (something that was completely messed up by the other company). On the day of the pickup, the driver texted me to let me know exactly when he would be there (the other company messed that up too). We talked about the best place to do the pickup and he went to the place that I suggested (the other company insisted on an illegal and dangerous location even though I told them there was a safer and legal spot just around the corner). I asked the Patriot driver to give me his best estimate on the drop off date because I needed to book a flight. He told me he would text me after picking up the other the cars. And he did!!! He arrived on the date he said he would. He texted me about where he thought he could do the drop off and I was able to suggest a better location within walking distance of my house. It seems like Shawn has left the company and Henry now primarily runs it and honestly for an expense that is high as shipping a car, I would recommend looking elsewhere now. I will say their pricing was still competitive compared to other places when I booked it again in 2025, but my car arrived 3-4 days later than quoted and the subcontracted company or Coastal did not keep me updated. I had airtagged my car so I could see that it was still moving, but would have appreciated some more communication. In addition, when I talked to Henry when booking this transport, he called me once and was very quick and dismissive vs Shawn was extremely kind and very happy to talk to me back and forth over what would be ideal. Their quoted pricing in their online website and email is not also not accurate now. I believe when I booked in 2023 the pricing that I was quoted online vs what I paid was accurate, but when I talked to Henry on the phone in 2025, he explained that it would be $200-300 more expensive than what was emailed because of demand, gas, etc which I think is fair...but honestly that feels like a bit of a bait and switch lol. Nevertheless I booked with Coastal again because I had such a great experience with them previously and while my car did get there, I wouldn't use them again. Also after I had already booked the transport they sent me 15+ emails with my original quote to book. I had literally already booked!! Maybe this is faulty technology but it definitely made me feel like a number in their system and not a customer. A week before the scheduled pickup, I started calling daily. Every time I was told that only Kay could help me because she was "handling my account" and that she would call me back. She never did. Today is Friday, 1/2/26, the very first day of my scheduled pickup window (1/2-1/4), and I still had zero contact from the company. When I called again, I got the same excuse--that Kay would call me back. I refused to wait and demanded to speak with a manager. After being put on hold, a man answered and immediately interrupted me, saying he didn't understand why I was on the line and that he was holding to speak with a manager because his car was scheduled for pickup today and nothing had been confirme. Apparently, my call had somehow been crossed. I had to call back again. I was finally transferred to a manager named Leiza, who admitted my information was in the system but no truck was available. She also stated that I was the fourth person she spoke with that day experiencing the same issue. That alone says everything.
