I had to find a new gym after my old gym suddenly closed. This gym is very no nonsense with all of the weightlifting equipment that you would need and a lot of treadmills, a couple of ellipticals, a stair master, and a rower. There was one group fitness studio that I didn't check out but all classes are included in the membership. The only thing I miss from my old gym is a functional area for stretching and floor movements. There's really not much space for that. The Staff was very kind and open to answering all of my questions. Prices are very competitive And I think they fairly reflect the services given.

Not to be confused with Houston Gem (a jewelry store), Houston Gum (a candy store), Houston Gams (Barbie), Houston 'Gram (local insta), Houston Grim (a Halloween store), Houston Jem (a hologram store), Houston OB-GYN (you know what that is), or Houston Jim (a dude named Jim from Houston). I have very mixed feelings about the Houston Gym. On the one hand, they were nice enough to tell me that I could come in for a free workout. On the other hand, when it came time for the free workout, they were so busy that I didn't even bother asking. And when I say busy, the owner was busy arguing with a client over payments not being canceled - loudly and aggressively. The patrons were wall to wall packed in like sardines even during Corona, which doesn't bother me personally. It's very claustrophobic and hot here, and they say it's for people who are serious about working out, but having space and air conditioning doesn't have to mean you're not serious. I like space and AC and look at me (hi). They do have some good equipment, also some broken and old stuff, but at the same time the free weights for example are kind of in disrepair, and in a tiny area, is so small that I almost got bashed with them just trying to walk through the area. Then there's the fact that I heard the owner having a profane argument with a customer about billing and cancellation that sounded nothing short of ridiculous. That conversation would be enough for me to give one star. Having said all that, it's a nice little gem and it was nice of them to offer a free session to me. They get at least 3 for that, considering they're a local business. I decided to bump it up by a single star only because they really do have some of the best looking, ripped, plastic-body and hard body gym-goers around. Some of the women here with their enhancements and physiques made Barbie really feel at home, and so she liked it a lot for that reason. She says it's because she likes to not be the only one people are looking at (because of her scandalous outfits and body type and show-offiness), and that she felt at home because there were other girls of her "type" working out here, whereas a Planet Fitness or a YMCA and most other places, wouldn't have many or any of them.

    There rates for membership.

My photo is of the membership fees, not bad but not great. I went in for a day pass and it was a cool place. They are definitely going for the gritty vibe, the equipment is all kinda old but works well still.

Came here for the weekend and it was Nice, clean and friendly gym!! Highly recommend it for a great workout

Basically stating he's "sad to see his belly go" and then travis proceeds to tell my bf that he is his taste in men. Real shady.
    Nxt V.

So first off, I had left this gym at some point and my trainer I had was a trainer by the name of Travis P. At some point after I left this gym, I was dating someone and referred him to this trainer. Travis had started rescheduling based on "being too tired" or whatever other excuses he gave. From there it became flirting, YES FLIRTING! Comments that nobody should hear from their trainer when they are trying to achieve fitness goals! I will be posting these texts he received and mind you the way my bf (of that time) would describe his comments and the way he would look at him or touch him (feeling inappropriate), the whole thing became a nightmare. Based on these texts you can imagine what else he'd been saying or doing. Example of another time he verbally/sexually harassed my bf was telling him how "he is right handed but jerks off with his left hand." Isn't that just SICK!?!? I mean what trainer says "they will be sad to see their client's belly go!?" Imagine if this was your Bf or Gf!!! What would you do!? And the reason I'm posting this is because they charged me for training after I quit my training last year, so here I am posting this because they are also awful as a business/gym!

Riti was our instructor for RUN X FULL BODY & she kept the upbeat vibes the entire time! It was honestly impressive & equally shocking how amazing her classroom management was haha but she kept us motivated for the whole 50 minutes. There were various sets where half the class was on the treadmill and the other half on the floor. The treadmillers were jogging, sprinting, & everything in between. The floor people were doing a lot of squats, bodyweight & weight lifting exercises. Then every few minutes the people on the treadmill would switch to the floor and vice versa. You really have to listen carefully and pay attention while the instructor is moving around shouting out what you're supposed to do. Parking is in a lot or on the street, both requires payment. There are lockers to store your belongings as well as showers in the bathrooms. They provide towels at eac station for the class as well. You be assigned a number for the treadmill & the floor section. This is definitely not meant for someone who gets overstimulated easily but if you like chaotic exercise classes, I highly recommend. Since I mapped it out beforehand, I knew where to park and how to get to the gym. This was a fairly large shopping area, but EQX was right there, and the desk is there in front once you enter. There was a really nice girl this day with long braids, and she directed me upstairs to the locker room and informed me that parking validation was not necessary at this time; the gate just went up as you pulled up to it. Perfect! After going upstairs, I did wander around and then a trainer directed me over to the locker room, which was spacious and very clean. The fitness floor is on the second, and as soon as I found the treadmills, I knew where I belonged. Light movement in the stretching area after, and then back to a shower with decent water pressure. What I was fascinated with was how friendly staff was. Trainers actually smiled and said goodbye which you won't normally see in California or New York. I certainly wasn't at home! Compared to other locations, this one was very low-key, although I admit I came during the afternoon where it was probably quieter. I had forgotten this is the location that I was in contact with back in 2020 when I had ordered some masks from their shop since they were actually open. LTF had bought out the previous operator, City Club, and invested millions in renovating and updating the facility. We met at and continued, as a couple to gravitat to large health clubs in different cities where we worked and lived for over fifty years. During the tour, where we were shown the various centers for weight training, the outdoor swimming complex, yoga studios, Pilates studio, ballet barre, a full service cafe and a very impressive spa/salon, and recovery room, I commented, "Goodness, I could live here very happily." We both have been very pleased with our experience there and feel that it is well what we pay for our membership. We travel a lot and have visited LTF clubs in different cities and have been pleased by the consistency of the programs, facilities and maintenance of a clean and functional facilitiy. We are usually there, working at maintaining our heath, both mental and physical a minimum of five days each week. But, I am writing this hot mid-July Sunday in 2026, to give two thumbs up to the entire LTF staff and management for the annual extravaganza, Poolchella, that was held over most of two days on two successive weekends bracketing our nation's 250th 4th of July celebration. It is one of the regularly scheduled music and dance events offered across the year on weekend days or weekend evenings described as adult get-togethers. That part I guess, is true but incomplete. The club's bar had two or three men and women constantly assembling cocktails and other libations, sandwiches, plates and snacks which were delivered to the many people out on the expansive, pool deck that has a variety of green and flowering plants. A succession of DJ's laid down very nicely synched non-stop pop and rock music tracks. The music drew me outside where I completed over 20 one/fifth of a mile circumnavigations of the pools where I ambled along at about 4.2mph movin' 'n groovin' to the 125 bpm beat the male and female MCs were laying down for well over an hour. It was hotter than hell under the sun in H-Town. I didn't care. I hydrated and took breaks to assess my well-being before picking up the pace over and over again. The LTF club leadership, GM Randy Doty and Club Membership Concierge Desiree Cortez, also provided floaty toys and a bounce pit and a variety of other kiddie attractions to enable entire young families to have a great holiday memory. And, therein lies the reason why this particular "urban country club" is so popular. The club offerings--from traditional solo weigh lifting to yoga, dance, Tai-Chi, strength, Pilates, cycling, swimming and group fitness classes welcomes not only the traditional gym rats and a surprising number of former college and professional athletes. They also offer a rich mix of classes that are directed to people like ourselves (AKA Aroras) who have made it to age 55 and beyond and understand that muscles do not age out as long as they are regularly and responsibly exercised. We routinely take classes with men and women who are well into their 70's, 80's and 90's and are still at it. But, LTF also has a very impressive kiddie care facility, so mom's and dad's can take advantage of the Club's classes, very clean family changing, showering locker room, use the cafe or the assigned out-of-the-office work area and get a mani-pedi, massage, assisted stretching session or work out with one of the many personal trainers, confident that their babies and toddlers and little kids are kept busy, clean and safe. For my wife and me, the Greenway Club is a central part of our Houston retirement. We enjoy the tri-part goals of LTF Arora--"Healthy. Active. Social." Bravo Randy, Desiree and the terrific crews!!
