Best trainers of any f45 in the area. Motivating but also corrected form. Plenty of parking in front

The instructors are all awesome and they really push you. I also like that they aren't so pushy with buying more classes or gimmicky monitors. That was definitely a turn off for me with one of their competitors who shall remain nameless (starts with an Orange ).

I recently tried Barry's and loved it so I figured I'd try this one as it's closer. Upon arrival, the woman at the front desk got me checked in and told me I could wait until the earlier class finished so she could give me an overview. They do have lockers in the bathroom for your stuff; however, most people just left their stuff in the open cubbies at the front. One the earlier class let out, us first timers were brought into the room and shown how to work the treadmill since it wasn't a generic one. For this class, the room has blue lighting and the instructor is on an elevated platform (or should I say DJ booth). The stage is where the exercises are demonstrated and you can always look for the instructor. While Barry's usually does a clean split between time on the treadmill and then the floor... SWEAT has 5-7 minute intervals and rotations. I didn't love this as I was sharing a space with someone else so when I got to the floor... there was sweat from the other person over the bench and it was a bit gross. Additionally, I think more time gets wasted doing the transitions. The workout itself was great and the instructor was nice. When on the treadmill, I appreciate that they give a walk, jog and run option although with the speeds they mention... no way are you still walking unless you're doing your own thing. On the floor side, I do wish they offered more options or guidance to those who have injuries and can't do some movements. I understand it's a large class so it's not feasible but it's something to note. All in all, it was a good workout and I'd visit again BUT would still pick Barry's over this one.

My review will cover Stefani's barre class. I was first introduced to barre in 2019 and I've fallen in love with the practice. Stefani's barre class at Facet Seven Heights is my absolute favorite! Stefani is very upbeat, personable, fun, and extremely energetic! Her class is great for beginners and those who are advanced in the practice! She always has a fun playlist to rock out to and it makes the class even more fun! If you visit this gym, I definitely recommend checking out Stefani's barre class. She teaches on Mondays at 7:10pm, Thursdays at 6:20 or 6:35pm (sorry I can't remember), Saturdays at 10:35am, and Sundays at 9:45am.

Instantly when I started taking classes at Facet Seven I appreciated the community and friendliness at the front desk, members, and the instructors as well. I mainly take Stefani's barre, yoga, and ABC class but also have enjoyed HIIT and strengthcon with Emma. Stefani is a bright light and makes working out so fun but also challenging. Emma similarly looks to challenge but is also motivating and provided me modifications when needed with an injury, looking out for me when I didn't realize I could re-injure something without even knowing. The gym has a variety of equipment but is on the smaller side, so it's easier to see and get to know regulars in your class but also meet new people. Highly recommend!

I look for three things in a CrossFit box: (1) a challenging WOD, (2) coaches who care, and (3)…read moregood community of athletes . It is for those three reasons I whole heartedly recommend Iron Oak. The coaches will take the time to help you understand the movement, and the objective of the movement. If you are visiting, do not waste your time shopping around, there is no better box in Houston!

The coaches are very welcoming, knowledgeable about the movements, and create an atmosphere of camaraderie that makes everyone feel accepted no matter their level of fitness. I'd even feel good about bringing my own mother to this gym. Now how many CroffFit-ers can say that? Also, they are intentional about their training methodology. I am a very analytical athlete, coming from an endurance background of triathlons and running, and knowing where we are headed with our training and why we're going there is important to me. In my first conversation with Colin (even before signing up) he was able to explain to me what was coming down the training pipeline in the next several weeks and what the next phases of training were going to be. They actually put some thought into where their athletes are going rather than just randomly throwing together workouts for the sake of variety. Iron Oak takes the correct approach, knowing that in order to get good at something you need to do it with some amount of frequency. But there's plenty of variety in our workouts to keep the boredom away. A few other things: - The longer class (1 hour 15 minutes) means there's plenty of time to do the workout rather than rush through everything. - I feel very safe under the coach's supervision. - They have a HUGE, HUGE, HUGE facility! That means there's room to push sleds around, run, do farmer carries, etc., all without going outside. And they have a fridge should you need some mid WOD snackage. I'd highly recommend this CrossFit for anyone.

This was my first time participating in Crossfit at this gym, and the attention to detail the coaches give in the areas of safety and form is much appreciated. The coaches are more concerned with newbies getting practice their first time versus completing all the reps for time. I thought my first time was going to be very competitive because this is what I was used to from other Crossfit gyms I have gone to in California. I felt as thought the lack of competition for newbies made the workout and whole atmosphere feel more welcoming. This is definitely a great way to keep people happy and coming back, and remove the whole aspect of Crossfit intimidation. I even felt a little intimidated driving there my first time but this was completely gone after I stepped foot into the gym and Clark Hibbs welcomed me like we had been long lost friends. He went out of his way to introduce me to the other crossfitters even though it was a couple minutes passed the start of the workout. I did snatches for the first time today (7/26/2016), and I was very concerned about having good form because I did not want an injury. Clark Hibbs broke the snatch movement down into 4 different movements we practiced individually a number of times. After we all mastered these individual moves we put them all together in one quick motion while he watched each of us. If any of us needed an adjustment to the snatch he came over after we put the bar down to show us how to make an adjustment. Other typical coaches might talk you through it but showing is one of the best ways to improve form immediately. Clark is very encouraging for newbies, and experienced crossfitters. I think he understands there is always room for improvement no matter how long a person had been doing Crossfit. He uses different forms of motivation - soft encouragement, and suggestive techniques - which work very effectively to get people to push to their max. He asked if I could just get that last rep, and I felt so motivated to make it happen. They charge $185 per month for a membership, but after your first time you will understand why this amount is worth all every penny. I would try Clark Hibbs workouts your firs time. I am going to start dropping in once a week for $20 per session. You can see how this would add up to almost 3x the $185 membership fee per month. At $185 / 12 class per month if you only go three times a week this comes out to around $15 per one hour class. I think this is very reasonable for the knowledge and practice you receive from very experienced Crossfit coaches. Robert
