I trusted the recommendation to have a solenoid valve replaced here called last week to get parts ordered and scheduled in bcos I live up north but work in San Diego. I filled out scheduling a visit that got no response. So I decided to give them a call as I've spoken to Monica and she is the one that does all paperwork and order parts. She said she'd get quotes and call me back. A few days went by no response, so I call again. I'm working on it, I'll call you back. Today is a new week and still no response. It's shocking when I tell people who recommended me, what I've began to go through and their responses were to contact the Dunns because that's not how they do business. I have yet to do that but I'm considering the suggestion. I can't seem to understand why Monica's behavior has changed this way towards helping that shop earn business. Btw I also left a voice message and still no response. I'd honestly like to know is it because my skin color don't fit or is there something I'm missing? He did a quick preliminary diagnosis and gave me a fair quote for the alternator parts and labor. A few hours later, instead of just doing the expensive repair, he called me and explained that the alternator was actually fine -- the real problem was a wire that was shorting out and causing the symptoms. The repair ended up costing significantly less than expected because they were honest enough to fix the actual issue instead of replacing parts I didn't need. I also had them change the fluids and filters while it was there. He said it looked like my spark plugs needed changing as well. Everything was completed quickly and professionally. We had a suspension issue with the Benz recently that required several parts replaced. The issue seemed to be reoccurring. Poway imports observed the problem, performed diagnostic work, and replaced the part under warranty at no cost. I didn't know that they actually warranty parts for 2 years! On a previous repair, they actually ended up fixing a disconnected wire that they found which appeared to be some sloppy work from a repair at another dealership. When we discussed the issue, I was able to speak to both the owner, Eli, and the technician that found the wiring problem. I could observe that the technicians pull the owner, Eli, into any type of complexity that they run across. So there's a real sense of team work. Lastly, I observed that the AC was performing poorly on my 3 series. I could see some gunk on the high side Schrader valve and figure it had started to fail. I asked Chris, who runs the front desk about it. He said that they always replace bot Schrader valves in their standard AC "tune up" service. It helps when you have such a knowledgeable team! I highly recommend!
