I was referred to this auto shop by a neighbor and so glad I was. The staff was wonderful and very easy to talk to when going over recommendations of additional repairs. Also I like their no haggle approach when going over the additional recommendations for service after they do their complimentary inspection. . I called to get a quote for an AC service and flush and they were so much cheaper than the dealership and nearby shops. Very easy to make an appointment and they give you a discount if you're a AAA member. They also provide a ride back home if you live nearby. Frickin' scammers! They replaced my battery last year. AAA says it's from 2022 and is at 8%. They also listed a number of very costly repairs, some of which I did but I was suspicious. I took my car to another mechanic and the other mechanic said there's nothing wrong. Do not get the work done. Get a second opinion. read more

A couple of years ago, I brought my car here to have the timing belt, brakes, and other work done. After a day or two, I noticed my brakes and timing belt were still making noise, which suggested the work hadn't actually been done. I took my car to a different shop, and they confirmed the repairs were not completed and fixed everything properly. Fast forward to today, I met an older woman at an auto parts store who had taken her car to this same shop for a fuel system sensor issue and etc. She spent what little money she had left and even borrowed money to replace specific parts. Unfortunately, her car is still having the same problems, and now she can't afford further repairs or drive the car far. Based on my experience and what I witnessed, I would not recommend this shop. read more

I finally called and went by A+ Auto care. These guys were so fantastic. I love a mom and pop shop that's part of the community. I have a Jeep Wrangler and have read so that many things can and will go bad. I thought I was going to get away with not having any problems, but that was a ridiculous notion. One day, out of the blue, the jeep started leaking engine coolant. A+ Autocare came highly recommended so I gave them a call and explained the issue. I dropped off the Jeep and waited for their call. They called later and confirmed that the water pump is the culprit of the coolant leak. They also discovered a fuel cap leak. The water pump was ordered and early the next week came the call that the water pump had been replaced as well as the fuel cap and the Jeep was ready to be picked up. The cost was about what I expected so no complaints there at all. The cherry on top is the freshly washed Jeep. I had planned on taking the Jeep to get it washed since it was really dirty when I dropped it off. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it had been washed. Recently my 2009 VW EoS wouldn't start. After towing the car to A+, I discussed with Dave about doing a diagnostic check. Dave spent a bunch of time on the car, but determined it would take $1500 to replace the shift controller. I decided to donate the car. It was a sad day, as this was my daughter's first car. Dave from the first was honest and advised me openly through the process. I was very impressed when he decided to not charge me more than $67 for the diagnostic service. We worked with A+ for a couple years and were very satisfied until today. My wife called to ask about an estimate on a backup camera replacement. One of the service guys asked her to bring the car in and suggested to run a diagnostic test even though we knew what the issue was. We obliged, only to find out AFTER we picked up the car that we had to pay $150 just for the test (the camera replacement was an additional $600). This was never disclosed to us when we initially called or when we dropped off the car. We didn't sign anything or agree to any charges, yet we received an invoice just to give us an estimate. Had they been clear about expectations up front, we would both feel differently. We will not be coming back here for any of our 3 cars unfortunately. My advice - proactively check with them on what the commitment is. Past relationships don't mean anything and nothing should be assumed. Sincerely disappointed. read more

We were recommended this place by a friend of ours and are so glad they did as this will be one of our go to shops for out automotive services! Right off the bat, they are very honest and are very competitive when it comes to labor charges. We took our car in for an oil change and they inspected the car and informed us of concerns that needed to be addressed. I am sure other places do the same, but this place provides you with pictures and explanations of the issues found and also provides recommendations if the issue needs to be corrected immediately or if you can hold off until next time. The service advisor was very patient and did not try to push anything on us and was able to have the service completed even when we added a last minute service. If you do not have a ride back home, I think they do offer a shuttle service which is very convenient. Unsurprisingly, this place does get booked up pretty quickly so we recommend calling in to make an appointment. read more

I ended up taking my Suburban here and these guys blew my socks off! Handled diagnosis and repairs same day! The dealer wanted my car for 2 WEEKS just to diagnose!!! Reasonably priced! Outstanding communication (phone, text and email)! Clean shop, well run, very organized and the mechanics are all super knowledgeable. Al was who I communicated with the entire time and was just such a great guy. He made me feel like he actually cared about me and my car. I haven't had that feeling at a dealer or a shop in decades. This is my go to shop from here on out and I reccomend it to everyone. I looked through the reviews and almost all of them are 5 stars. There are a few 1 star reviews from the typical angry people that give everyone 1 star reviews and the business owners responded to all of them and fixed almost all of them and if yelp allowed you to change your score after you submit then their rating would be even higher. Wow. They figured out a clunk mystery that's been plaguing my car for over a decade. The dealer wanted to replace several parts at a high cost. APlus researched the issue and discovered the specific part causing the problem. They replaced it - everything else was solid - at less than half the cost the dealer quoted. Why the dealer did not know about this replacement part is beyond my comprehension. I literally called APlus when I got the car back and asked them if they had swapped my vehicle with a different one. LOL. It is so much quieter and the steering is tighter. An added bonus: the stability control light kept coming on and I wonder if that was related to all of this --- because that no longer happens either. Score guys! Thanks! read more

Brought my minivan in because it was making a noise while accelerating. They gave me a complete quote and list of everything wrong with the vehicle, but didn't go ahead and do a bunch of work without my authorization. They actually recommended that with everything wrong with my (much older) car that I might be better off getting a new one. Not a lot of places would do that. Many shops would happily take your $5000 to fix one thing knowing there could be many cascading issues after that. They were so honest and still offered to do the work if I wanted to but made sure I was fully informed so I could make the right choice. Highly recommend them! read more

I took my daughter's car in for an unrelated repair approximately 3 yrs ago. During the repair, they took some photos of the car. One of them showed a bead of grease next to one of my cv joints. They told me the cv joint was leaking. It was obvious the bead of grease was from a grease gun and not from a leak. I had just replaced the struts on the car myself and looked at the joints which were not leaking. Most people wouldn't know any of this and probably would have both front axles replaced. In my opinion this place rips people off for unneeded repairs. Unless you're really knowledgeable, avoid them. read more

My husband made an appointment on their website a week ago. We showed up, and they had no record of it. He told them he made it on their website, and the guy said, "Oh that's why then, that doesn't work." I told him, "It's 2021, there is no excuse for having a website that doesn't work." Get with the times guys, or take down your website. The guy didn't seem to care, saying they were backed up for 2 weeks. My Jeep Cherokee was overheating so I took it to A+ Autocare because my dealership service department is shut down until the new owner gets their license from the B.A.R. SO GLAD the dealership could not take my car and I could not get an appointment at any Jeep dealer in San Diego for 3-4 week. Such a great experience compared to taking it to the dealership. They were helpful, friendly and responsive. Did a full comprehensive inspection detailing everything wrong with my car, including photo. All the issues they found were things the dealership has previously, supposedly repaired. They did exactly what they said they were going to do and got me my car back quickly and repaired correctly. Two things the dealership failed to do. Alan, the service advisor, took the time to explain everything to me, ordered all the parts in advance and made sure my car was in and out of there super fast. Mike, The technician who worked on the car is a real pro. The guy really knows what he is doing. He found and fixed all the problems that the dealership failed to fix or "fixed" incorrectly. the report he created on my car was so detailed and meticulous...The guy is a genius.
