I had a serious hit to my new camry with two driver doors destroyed completely. I was referred to them by the insurance company. I was totally amazed by the quote as it was very reasonable and any insurance certified shop would have charged more. They took care of the whole process from towing the car to informing when it was done. The work was professional and went through all the details what was involved and also pointed to me that there was small tear in car seat and would have been more costly to fix it then just leave it since it was at not so visible and unused part of the seat. This place stands out amongst any and all car places I've ever been to. The guys are honest, they've done courtesy work before (Repaired a cracked driver side mirror for FREE...didn't even have to ask.) Get me parts at wholesale prices and install them and don't even charge for labor. They truly value their customers which is why I will ONLY bring my car here when I need something done. What other place is going to give you a DETAIL every single time you bring your car in? I know there are a ton of shady car shops out there, rest assured this place is NOT one of those. I normally don't write bad reviews, but this case really pissed me off. The owner Jim is very very rude and if you are a girl, be ready to his sudden mood change from nice smile to anger. I brought my boyfriends car in a shop and I expected Jim to fix his car according to a warranty. There was a brake sensor that Jim didn't put right after replacing brake pads and the window that didn't closed after Jim put motor and regulator ( note: my boyfriend bought all parts on AutoZone and Jim said that parts were perfect and fitted the car). So, Jim put all parts and the same day the brake sensor starts blinking and the back window didn't close. So, I brought the car to Carmel Valley Collision Center several weeks after the problem appears. Jim looked at it, change his attitude right away and said that all parts are worn out! How it could be? It supposed to be last for at least a year. He was screaming at me: you guys are cheap, I don't want to fix your car, your brought a cheap parts ( I told him that the parts are from AutoZone and if the problem are with the parts, I could return them or exchange them) . He yelled at me, his face became red from his anger, he told that I am cheap and I need to buy a cheaper car since I don't want to pay him again for a repair. I am not used to yelling and screaming and I was in shock after Jim's words. And in the end, hi didn't fix his mistakes, gave me a key and told that he doesn't want to see and fix my car anymore. And yelled at me: Get a Toyota and then we will talk. I guess, the owner Jim really need to learn how to treat his customers or hire a person who would talk to customers because apparently Jim cant do it right. I called ahead of time for an estimate. I had to wait 10 minutes while he helped another customer. That's fine, I understood. Then when was doing the estimate, he stopped to answer the phone 3 times! One call lasted 7 minutes. It was rude. Then he said he would email me the estimate, so I didn't have to wait. Mind you I was the only one there. I told him I needed the estimate same day, he agreed and then he never sent it. I was very annoyed. Would not recommend this place. read more

The back end of my Jetta was hit a few weeks ago (my driver side back bumper and trunk) while parked in a parking lot. Thankfully the girl who hit me left me her information and I turned in a claim with her insurance co. (Farmers). Although frustrated that Farmers was practically making me use their car repair facilities (that is if I wanted my car fixed sooner rather than later) I am thankful that I ended up going with Carmel Valley Collision. I chose Carmel Valley Collision for three reasons: 1) it was close to my work, 2) I yelped them and their reviews were better than the other companies (even the supposed 5* companies Farmer's offered), and 3) when I called about possibly bringing my car in, as soon as I mentioned it was a VW Jetta, the owner (who answered the phone) told me that he had worked on several Jettas which automatically made me feel more comfortable that they knew my type of car and how to fix it. Brian was my contact at Carmel Valley Collision and he was extra helpful. He came out as soon as I drove up, he even knew who I was. He checked out my vehicle, listened to my concerns and reassured me that I would get my car back the way it was before my accident (if not better - and I must admit, it looks better). Brian called me on an almost daily basis (as I requested) for updates on my vehicle. He e-mailed me pictures of the underneath damage and also sent me the estimate via e-mail for my records. He was also very friendly and customer service oriented. Carmel Valley Collision was aware of my needs and time frame that I wanted my vehicle back, but also aware of making sure that my vehicle was in perfect condition before letting me take it home. The good thing is that they also guarantee their work for as long as I own it. I did notice that my back reverse light on my driver side wasn't working (thanks to VW's smart system) which is hooked to my trunk which they just repaired. I called Brian and he had me stop by and he replaced it right then and there with no problems - it took less than 3 minutes and I was on my way. Brian also called me a few days after I had picked up my car to make sure everything was still running and looking smoothly. I highly recommend Carmel Valley Collision, especially to VW Jetta owners - they know what they are doing! read more

Brought in our car mid-July for a repair of a foot-wide dent on the fender. They listened to our concerns and worked hard to address them (after clearing up some initial miscommunication). The result was better than expected. We were told our car would be polished, looking like brand new. And sure enough, that was exactly the case. Obviously they have highly skilled technicians, and even did some touchup painting and polishing on their own initiative without charging us extra. And all of this at a very competitive price! Honestly, I would like to give them 5 stars. The only reason I am giving them a 4-star rating is that they, despite "promises", forgot to call back a couple of times (once by Jim and once by Brian) to provide update, leaving us in limbo not knowing whether to make arrangements for rides. But overall, we are very satisfied with the repair job and recommend them highly. And we will certainly use them again for auto body repair and paint job. read more

My car broke down less than 10 min after I picked it up from the garage due to overheating! It stopped right in the middle of the road and put me in a very dangerous situation. The manager blamed me for continue driving when I noticed the temperature indicator was high. He ignored the fact I was in the middle of the road and there was no place to pull over and it happened very fast. Should he take the full responsibility that the car broke down right after he did the repair work? He even did not do an engine oil change since the car was overheated. Would that be a routine procedure? I called AAA for towing since I have AAA membership. He charged my insurance company $534 for towing which he did not do! I wonder what he was doing! read more

The owner was rude and dishonest. He lied about my rental car. I was setup by my insurance company for Hertz and told me I couldn't go there and had to use Enterprise. If I had done what he said, I would have had to pay for my rental car out of my own money and my insurance company recommended I use a different repair shop that was more ethical. The owner was unprofessional and cursed a lot, I'm glad I didn't have my repair done there. The staff at Hertz was amazing btw. read more

I took my car here to fix after a minor accident. I had full coverage and so I came to drop off the car here after a friend recommended it. On the day it was supposed to be fixed, I called the shop to make sure it's ready but was told that they originally ordered the wrong parts so I had to wait 2 extra days. No problem, so I waited. When I came to pick up the car, I did a walk-thru to make sure things are fixed but I noticed a poor job was done to my car door and you can totally tell that the door didn't line up correctly. It has uneven gap after you close it and can notice it easily. So I contacted my insurance and they told me they will make sure the shop take it back and do a better job. This time it took another 5 days. I came to pick up the car noticed that it was a little better but when I drove away, I noticed the air noise is louder when driving on freeways and that my car window up/down button stopped working and can't control the other side. I then called my insurance back and good thing they had a better shop with 100% customer satisfaction guaranteed. The new place did a way better job and gave my car free touch-up on all of the minor dings. Despite the bad experience with Carmel Valley Collision, my experience was redeemed with the 2nd shop. read more

Honest and quick service. Dropped the truck off in the morning for some dings and scratches before work and it was ready when I got off. Lowest quote in terms of money and repair time I received. These guys are nice and funny. They gave me a ride to my office in the morning, some touch up paint, and even offered to buff out any future scratches for free. they really helped me with everything! my mom had gotten her work done on her mercedes along time ago and reccomended me to go there because they were very reasonable and helpful. i had a double deductable (one from hit and run and another one an accident with another car) the damage was some what in the same area and brian, who had written my estimate, knew the damaged car parts were going to overlap and be replaced from one or the other claims. so he called my insurance claims adjuster, had an inspector come out immediately, then after Brian and the adjustor disputed a little over what they should do, they came to a conclusion of only charging me one deductable! thank god i only had to pay 500 instead of 1000. then previous to the accident my A/C randomly stopped and Brian and the owner Jim (i believe) fix it for $40.. after my repairs he offered a free detail and shampoo inside my car. and a couple weeks later my car was in need for tire totation and they offered for my to come in a they would just do it for me. i am still having trouble with my A/C but brian told me after i get some time out of work i can come in and he will look at it again and see what they can do to fix it. brian and jim (the owner) are very nice, helpful, understanding. they knew i had a huge budget and that i was a college student getting paid very little and they worked with me on keeping my price as low as possible!!! While initially seeming friendly and helpful, once i decided i wanted to take my car somewhere else, the owner became manipulative and rude. After telling me he would not charge me storage fees while they estimated the vehicle, when i tried to pick it up they said if i didn't get it fixed there i owed them storage fees that added up to 1,000.00. They were unwilling to budge, trying to manipulate me into just getting it fixed there, in which case the storage fees would be waived. instead of acting professionally and discussing options, the owner Jim yelled at me, shaking his finger in my face and calling me cheap, saying not to think a pretty face was going to manipulate him. He even threatened to keep and sell my car himself. my insurance company ended up having to pay the 1,000.00 just for my car to sit in his lot without any work done. the other guys working in the shop seemed really nice, and it looks like they do good work there, but be wary of storage fees! read more

i was employed by carmel valley collision in july 2012. on 7-12 while walking across the back lot i ruptured my achilles tendon in my left ankle, i tried to keep working but it was getting worse. on 7-17 i told JIM RICHARDSON that i would need to finish my jobs and go to the doctor and would probably need to go on disabilty and be gone for several months, he said ok. on 7-18 i was informed by several friends that there was a disguided ad on craigs list looking to fill my position, i thought oh well they needed to fill my position while i was gone .on7-19 i went into the office immediately upon my arrival at work and asked the office manager and estimator if they were replacing me temporarally or permanantly he replied permanantly ! a short while later JIM RICHARDSON approached me and said he had someone comiing in and told me he wantd me and my tools gone by 5 pm! he also told me to do my pay.well after doing my pay i went to his office and he told me to close the door and then he started to rant about how i was trying to game him for disability and that he would have to pay my disability and he was not going to take the money from his sons college fund! ! anyways he refused to pay by check and said he had destroyed all evidence of me working there! he said if i needed money to go on welfare! oh by the way i did not mention that this was a prexisting condition as my ankle had been sensitive for a while . i was not trying to make a comp claim------iwas making a disability claim on my own personal disability account that i personally paid with deductions from my paychecks for about 40 years! i was trying to be responsible and get my jobs done and then get treatment as i was a commisioned employee and this is the treatment i recieved! .i know if he replies to this it will be nothing but lies and b.s., but this is the truth as i have stated on numerous government forms at several different agencys.
