Don't expect excellent service at Fado Irish Pub unless you're 1) male (sporting a jersey of some sort) and 2) you're ordering drinks. Clearly my dining companion (i.e. my mom) and I failed to meet both criteria during a recent lunch trip. Fish and chips is a must when in an Irish pub, but chain-wise, Claddagh still holds the award for the best version this artery-clogging comfort food. I personally found FIP's fish & chips rather soggy and just bland in general. As for the Trinity Steak Boxty, nothing on the plate spelled potato pancake (as claimed on the menu.) What was presented, however, was a crepe filled with grilled steak and mushrooms in Stroganoff sauce. The accompanying "seasonal vegetables", you ask? It was a bed of peas and corn that came straight out of the frozen food aisle in a K-Roger near you! The show stealer were obviously not the entrees but rather the dessert: Black and Tan Brownie with Guinness Ice Cream. Warm, moist, and dense, the two brownie bars complemented the ice cream quite nicely. FIP perhaps would have been a better dining experience had we not picked the wrong day to check it out, as crowds gathered in anticipation of the Manchester United/Barcelona game. The sound level went from perfectly normal to ridiculously obnoxious (and unnecessarily so) in a matter of minutes that we were left with no other choice but to scarf down the dessert, pay for the check, and make a mad dash towards the exit. 2.5 stars. read more

I loved this place. The food was great. They had traditional Irish Corned Beef and Cabbage, Shepard's Pie, and Veal Dip sandwiches but also burgers. I had the Fish and Chips which was crispy and delicious with big chunky fries. The atmosphere was darkish and rustic, super clean with lots of Irish and British decor. Try the Irish Coffee but not if you have to drive right away. The service was awesome. read more

Well, since this is part of that capitalist gangbang on a hill known as Easton, I sort of doubted that I was going to fall in love with this place. It has all the faux-Irish accoutrements you'd expect, lots of wood, phoney memorabilia, etc. Why do corporate eating/drinking establishments ALWAYS have to have a theme? Why can't the theme be great food and great drinks for a great price? (No, no people don't like that, people like phoney Ionic pillars and ethnic themed outfits) Does stating this place is an "Irish" pub somehow attract more customers? The service was kind of lackluster. I watched the employees trotting past me behind the bar, but I'd have to flag them down almost every time to show them my empty beer 3' from their face. They also don't put prices for any of the drinks on the drink menu, and when you get your tab, you'll see why. read more

We go to Ohio every year for a work convention. This time, we wanted to eat at The Cheesecake Factory, but the wait was approximately 2.5 hours! So, we wondered around in the freezing cold and found this little gem. SO HAPPY WE DID!! I explained my food allergy, and the server not only took me seriously, but informed the kitchen and owner. Scotty, the owner, personally came out and asked if he could make me something to prevent any issues with my allergy. What came out was... amazing. Fresh and perfectly seasoned fish, with delicious potatoes on the side. I was blown away by the freshness and the flavor. Hubby enjoyed his fish and chips and my daughter loved her chicken strips and ate every single one. I had no idea by looking at this place that I would have the best meal of the week. Obviously its a pub, so it is dark and very snug inside. There doesn't seem to be smoking, but there is a cigar place next door, so you can smell that. It's not overpowering though, from a non-smokers point of view. The beer selection is AMAZING. We tried different ones and were super impressed with all of them. Granted, I've never been to one, but this is not how I assume one would feel. Very trendy and not at all cozy. There are definitely places at Easton that are preferable. No hostess during the week which could be a negative if its crowded however the staff is very friendly and the food is outstanding. The fish and chips are prepared the way it should be and I highly recommend the lamb sandwich! I am not usually a coleslaw fan but it is delicious here. We showed up for the CrewSC game and were directed to pick from a few tables that were left since the majority were either taken or the section close to the door to the patio was reserved so we tried to take a seat at an empty table close to a set of tv's (the other table would have not had a view of the match) when we went to sit down a large group said that table is reserved yet when we mentioned it to a waitress she said it wasn't. The one time I went here, I had slow service but pretty good food. Every other time after that, I have had dreadful service. I ordered before receiving appetizers and the appetizers were good, the spinach artichoke dip and bruschetta, and after an hour I still had not received my food or even seen a waiter or waitress. The couple next me had to go find someone to simply take their drink orders since they had seen anyone since being initially seated. I enjoy their food for the most part, no complaints there. But it is difficult to judge the food when I never receive it. This place seems like it would be an excellent place to drink, but honestly, the food is really what sets it apart. In a popular neighborhood of easton with about 20 restaurants around it Fado's is really the only irish pub around. All of Easton is a little over priced, but Fado's is affordable and has a friendly knowledgeable staff with excellent food and drinks. Probably my last trip to Fado's. Which is a shame because the food is very good. The atmosphere is just not enjoyable. We walked in Saturday and the restaurant absolutely reeked of cigar odor. (They really need to get the Tinder Box to do something about it) We picked a table back in a quiet corner with only one other table to enjoy some food and conversation. Our server was friendly and wonderful. The table next to us emptied as we got our food and 3 loud obnoxious 'gentlemen' sat down. One, in general, was being very loud, not helped by the bartender shouting across the room to them, but it's a Pub so we just tried to ignore it. Until Mr. Very Loud starts discussing his erections and masterbation in detail at full volume. Check please! The server was understanding and apologetic. Unfortunately the Manager approached and told them they'd received a complaint (gee wonder who when there are only TWO tables in this entire section). Understand he was trying to help, server was already bringing our check and we were leaving. So things were awkward and tense until we left. We passed a family with children coming in as we left...best of luck Mom & Dad! I get that it's a Pub, and I'm not easily offended. This place gets two stars solely for their variety of beer, wine, and alcohol. Everything else is a miss. I wouldn't recommend this place for large parties. Seating is not guaranteed. There is no host/hostess so you've got to find seating yourself and hope there will be enough room for your party in this tight space. Everyone else eventually got their food at the same time. I ordered an sandwich. Yes, a simple sandwich (which was well overpriced for the modest portion). I was told mine would be out shortly. 10-15 minutes passed and I didn't have any food. The waitress came by to check on everyone else and brought more drinks to my friends. She could clearly see I didn't have any food. A few minutes passed and my friend asked a manager about my order because I didn't want to make a big deal about it. She finally brought it out after another considerable wait time. Didn't say sorry or anything. Explained there was a mix up in the kitchen and left. After she saw I was clearly not happy she came by a few minutes later and said "don't worry the kitchen will take care of your food". I honestly didn't care and was willing to pay for the food even though it was late. I was unhappy that someone would ignore me, take care of the others at the table, and not even realize it. Exceptional. Right when we got there we were showed to the non smoking area, and just as we arrived a table opened up on the outside patio. Right away the employee showing us the seating right away cleaned the table so we could enjoy the beautiful 75 degree night. Now to the important stuff. The food was so good! I started off with the smoked salmon bites as an appetizer and they we delicious. I also got the Peach & Prosciutto Flatbread and have mercy was that good as well! As for drink, I went with the Guinness, as you can't go wrong with that on tap. Their beer menu looked good, though, as well as their mixers. This wasn't a bad experience on our quest to find some good Irish food. We'd been let down all over Columbus as everything kinda just . . . it regular bar food with Irish names . . . anywho. They had boxty, they had stew, shepherd's pie, and a few other things. Otherwise just the typical bar fare. But bonus points for being the only place I know of thus far that serves some good boxty. They also have this new ginger beer that tastes pretty awesome. It's not very alcoholic but it tastes pretty darn good. The only drawback here, as with most things seem to be in Easton, you don't get very much on your plate. When I got my boxty it well like a small lunch. I wasn't really satisfied when I left. And the shepherd's pie my boyfriend got was also kind of small. But all tastes fairly good. Nice and dark inside, and cozy too, so it get bonus point for the pubby feel. read more

The server was very friendly and easily managed our group of 12 for lunch, which is probably a max for this location because of the way they've divided their eating space into lots of smaller spaces. Okay so here's the thing. I only ever go to Fado watch football (soccer to the rest of you) because they're open early and serve a good Guinness. They have decent food and the service is also decent. But that's it. I'm not friends with McDouche or McBro so the smell of dumb cologne worn on men trying to hit on MILFs is offensive and annoying. But because they show my games and I can't find anywhere else that shows them; I keep going. It's smaller than The Pub at Polaris with fewer beer selections. It's a little too expensive to make it your "hang out". A little too loud to make it worthy of "talk time" but if your with your friends watching football at 8am with other like minded folks it's worth it. read more

Yes, Fado is a chain and basically at a mall, but is my favorite place at Easton to grab a bite and tall Guiness on draft. I ordered a Spinach salad add blackened chicken. 86 the egg, aka no egg for those that don't know restaurant terms. It was by far the best chicken salad of any kind I've ever had.
