I understand not carrying a part -- that's fine -- but taking a VIN and then not following up, and not providing a clear referral, wasted my time. If you're going to collect info for a lookup, I'd expect either a return call or a direct lead on where to get it. They came to my aid when I needed help and got me sorted and back on the road. I highly recommend the team at Coast Riders for any service, repair or accessory shopping needs for your motorcycle or scooter. Last October 14, 2024 I attempted to ride solo over 1000 miles in under 21 hours via the Nevada Desert and the Sonora Pass. Basically a fun, but serious challenge for which I prepared for by mounting new tires on my motorcycle the week before the attempt. I'm not from San Luis Obispo, but towards the end of epic my ride, I found myself stranded in Pismo Beach with a nail in my brand new rear tire after 900 miles of continuous riding over 19 hours. Yikes. At this point I was cold, wet and tired and it was 10 pm at night. I managed to limp the bike into Pismo Beach, Ca on the rear flat. I I decided to get a hotel room and sort out my problem in the morning. My rear tire was destroyed. The next morning, I found Coast Riders Powersports on the web and gave them a call to see if I could, possibly, buy a new tire and get it mounted quickly. They were great....and totally reassuring. The office manager understood my problem and my need to get my bike back on the road quickly to get home (and to get back to work!). The Coast Team had a tire in stock and gave me a great deal. They cleared their schedule and opened up a service rack to, really, a total stranger who was broken down on the road. I received the best service. So I had AAA load my bike and the AAA trailer and transported it 13 miles to the Coast Riders very nice Work Shop located in San Luis Obispo. Coast Riders took care of everything and had me back on the road in less than 4 hours after I first phoned them to ask for help. It cleared our bank the very next business day ( Monday). We call to schedule delivery- she says they need more wait longer to be sure check clears(??!!) Said she would call us on Friday. ZERO communication on Friday. We call the sales manager ( Jeff or Jethro) on Saturday. He claims the "company policy" is to wait 10-12 days??!! No bank takes that long on a local check. Guy must have said "company policy" 20 times. I informed him that "company policy" is just an excuse for NON-PERFORMANCE. Lazy man's way to not have to think or provide true customer service. #1- NO ONE TOLD US they would wait 10-12 days. #2- I specifically asked the sales lady at time of purchase if a direct deposit or wire would be better. She said NO. #3.- After talking with "sales manager" and having him apologize for failure to clearly state their "policy" at time of purchase, he says " I'll throw in some goodies for the inconvenience" Bull crap. Vehicle is finally delivered almost 2 weeks later. No "goodies" and an EMPTY GAS TANK..... These are petty people. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME or money here when there are other reputable dealers within an easy drive.

Daisy texted me about it even though business was closed on Sun/Monday. On Tuesday morning when she got to work, she contacted 5-6 of their locations and found me multiple Xpeditions in my apartment price range. She was super quick to text me info, specs, pictures and she did all the work. She found me one close to home at their Paso Robles location and had it all lined up for me to pickup Wednesday morning. She was by far the best sales person I've ever purchase anything from. Wednesday morning we drove to Paso to meet Mike and pickup our XP5. They were just finishing detailing it up and had it ready to go. We did maybe 10 minutes of paperwork and started loading it up on the trailer. Easiest purchase ever. The Paso location is brand new and very nice. Clean and tons of machines. They showed me an aluminum ATC trailer we'll be purchasing also. Daisy is now working on finding us a black ATC or aluminum enclosed trailer for the xp5. CA Customs has the best prices on Motorsport vehicles and trailers. We'd been searching for months. Had a good experience working with Tiana and her team. Bought a new Versys 650LT. Sent an email…read moreletting her know what I was looking for. She sent me the out the door price. No funny business. Bike was ready when they said it would be. Before we did the paperwork she suggested to look the bike over. I was so excited to ride I didn't even think of that. We looked over the bike. One part was a little off. They took the bike to the back and replaced the part. Quick and efficient. Glad to be their customer.

What went well?? Dusty recovered my stolen motorcycle!!…read more On a Monday when the shop was closed, the owner, Dusty, was working overtime and offered to pick up my broken bike nearby with his truck and trailer. When we got there, we discovered my bike was stolen and the air tag on it placed it just north out of town. Dusty without hesitation asked, "Do you want to get your bike back?" He had me call the sheriff and report the bike stolen. We then tracked the bike to a home, negotiated with the nice people holding a pit bull on a leash, who were holding my bike for me for "safety reasons" to give back and load the bike, so we could bring it back to the shop. A few days later he slaps on a high capacity stator so i'm able to be back on the road to Denver! I can't thank Dusty and his crew enough! Highly recommend this local legend!

We completed the paperwork online, and a few days later made the long drive out to Santa Barbara (we're not locals). We arrived close to closing time, but the staff was still incredibly welcoming and helpful. They didn't rush us at all and even took the time to fully inspect the bike with us before letting us take it home. I don't usually have the best experiences at dealerships, but this one was genuinely a pleasant surprise. The whole process felt smooth, straightforward, and honestly stress-free--which is rare in my experience.
