Price was great, selection great, service was even better. I was looking for a good deal on a 25 Polaris Xpedition XP5. I contacted CA Custom powersports through Facebook on a Sunday. Daisy texted me about it even though business was closed on Sun/Monday. On Tuesday morning when she got to work, she contacted 5-6 of their locations and found me multiple Xpeditions in my apartment price range. She was super quick to text me info, specs, pictures and she did all the work. She found me one close to home at their Paso Robles location and had it all lined up for me to pickup Wednesday morning. She was by far the best sales person I've ever purchase anything from. Wednesday morning we drove to Paso to meet Mike and pickup our XP5. They were just finishing detailing it up and had it ready to go. We did maybe 10 minutes of paperwork and started loading it up on the trailer. Easiest purchase ever. The Paso location is brand new and very nice. Clean and tons of machines. They showed me an aluminum ATC trailer we'll be purchasing also. Daisy is now working on finding us a black ATC or aluminum enclosed trailer for the xp5. CA Customs has the best prices on Motorsport vehicles and trailers. We'd been searching for months. RZR has been there for over 5 months waiting on a motor that we had to offer to pay to have torn down to prove there was an issue. ITS UNDER FACTORY WARRANTY! Then waiting on a clutch, again originally told they already had that part. Now waiting on shocks that we were told weeks ago were already on the car. Supposed to be done 3 days ago. No call...Now being told they had to wait for springs now that we don't even need because we told them put ours back on as they are brand new custom springs. But apparently he forgot that....Have canceled 2 trips already, guess we will be canceling the 3rd..Nothing but lies and lack of communication. They have dropped the ball so many times. Have never dealt with such incompetence in a business. Daniel in the Service department needs to be fired! Not sure how he can still have a job. Mike the General Manager isn't any better, he just covers up for Daniel. The Owner doesn't give 2 craps about his business either as he can't seem to return any calls we have left. Forgot to mention when we purchased this they installed a clutch out of another car and never documented it. We have gone thru 3 other clutches since then and thats what destroyed the motor. My son was gifted a Stacyc bike when he was 3 and was at the time not tall enough for it. It belonged to a relative and they had done something to the brake and it wasn't working. They told me that it needed was a screw so after trying to do it on my own and realizing there was more wrong with the brake I was recommended to go Cal's custom. My son is now tall enough to ride and he has been for a few weeks. In that time he lost 2 screws for the visor on his helmet so we finally decided to go to Cals. We walked in and were greeted. We explained our issue with the bike and were sent over to the parts section of the shop. We were helped by Daniel who came out to our car and examined the bike. Once he saw all the issues with the break line he hauled the bike inside and disappeared to the back. Maybe 5-10 min later he came out and had completely fixed the brake. There was a loose wire that he also fixed. We asked how much and he said "no charge." Unfortunately they didn't have the screw for our visor but he did tell us what we needed. We were so pleasantly surprised but also not surprised to encounter such community feel even in the businesses here in Paso. We will definitely be back. read more

Update: I called and talked to Mike in sales and explained to him our recent experience. He apologized and asked if he could answer any questions for me. I suggested he speak with his team about improving their customer service. He told me to call before we return so that he can make sure we are taken care of. Hubby and I wanted to see some Utility Terrain Vehicles in person after browsing a few models online. When we arrived at the location we walked around outside for about 10 minutes and no one came out to greet us. We then went inside the dark and dingy "showroom". The only thing that greeted us was music that was some how skipping. The receptionist never made contact. A gentleman that I assume worked there because he sat behind a computer monitor never acknowledged us. I sat in a model that we had been wanting to test drive, but no one even looked at us. We opened the hood of a model that we were interested in, yet again- no interaction with any staff member. We went BACK outside to walk around the lot and another couple arrived to look at the UTV selection and they were not greeted by anyone that worked at the store. So funny story just got the wife a new 23'KTM 350 EXC dirt bike, from the guys at California Custom Trailers & Powersports I have bought many, many toys from them and referred them over 15 friends and family members. You would think after that much business with me they would have it dialed. I had trouble with these guys with my very first KTM 1290 purchase and every bike since it actually just got worse every time. So save yourself some headache and go to another dealer that will treat you right and not try to rob you blind, actually cares, does not lie to get a deal done, and gives a hoot. They just don't get it here, I seem to always come away disappointed. Today was the last time, I should not have to work so hard for a business to take my hard-earned money. Waiting around for hours to talk with someone who then has to talk with someone else. Wasted trips to the dealer when the bike has recalls and they don't tell you until you are there. Absolute nightmare, stay away!!!! They don't care about the customer, just making another sale. They tell you one thing and then do another and stick you with a big bill. Loose bolts and the bikes are not put together properly. They really missed the mark, sad when you try to support/help a local company but they can't help themselves. I'm in Arroyo Grande and will now take all my business to Valley Cycle & Motorsports in Bakersfield, they are professional and very customer-oriented!! Go to these guys!! Bought a Honda Pioneer ATV in March 2023. Hard to get the salesman's attention. He was dealing with a problem at home, which we got to hear all about. Paid the asking price in cash. No quibbling. Never heard from them again. Needed service in Dec, called for a price and pick up. Pick up was great but no communications until it was time for a payment. I had to give him a credit card before I could get the bill. "I'll send the invoice with the driver." Nope, had to wrestle to get the bill emailed. The Service Guy went home sick before he could generate my bill. No one knew when I would get an invoice. Finally, when I get the invoice, then the Miles and Hours were reversed on the invoice. No idea when the next service was due. The maintenance button was not reset so no clue there. Time for another service this month. Took over a month of calling every week to get a date for a pick up. Finally, on the 5th week, guy says he'll send a guy today. I asked how much for the service, he says he will have to figure it out. He says that he will send it with the pick up guy. I said I needed to know first. Finally! I get an email: $884.06 for an oil change! Pick up increased from $150 to $250. I called back and said no. The service guy says that the pick up guy is already on the road and he can't call him back. I said, "Of course you can. I didn't authorize the work." He says that I would have to pay for the call out. I said, "F you". And that will be my last contact with California Customs. Maybe their market is the vineyards, where money is no object and service is not expected but if you are an average working Joe-Schmo, they make it obvious that they don't give two farts about you. read more

I'm not sure if this place as an issue with deceptive sales staff, management, ownership, or all three but I would advise anyone thinking of doing business here to go somewhere else. In November I inquired about a Bobcat MT100 and was told that one was coming in February, but that if I put down a deposit the sale would be considered "retail" and it would expedite the delivery and it would come in January. The salesman gave me a quote for the machine and attachments, I accepted and signed a Purchase Agreement for that price. I then canceled an order with a different dealer as California Custom promised they could have the machine sooner and at a better price. The salesman contacted me by email, phone, and text multiple times a day for two days straight until I paid the deposit, then he fell off the face of the earth. No contact at all, no response to my emails, no returned phone calls, nothing. January came and went, still no response. February 13th I get a call from the salesman telling me my machine was delivered and is ready to be picked up, and that he will send me a follow up email. He then calls me and says Bobcat prices changed as of the first of the year so he would send me a new quote, even though I signed the Purchase Agreement in November of the previous year. I originally told the salesman I wanted to complete the transaction before the first of the year for tax purposes for my business, he said no problem but then would not return correspondence causing the first of the year to come and go. His new quote was $5,300 more than the SIGNED Purchase Agreement, to which I was obviously livid. California Custom refused to honor the purchase agreement price, but offered a paltry two free services and discounts on parts. Why they think I would trust them to keep their word after they already broke it is beyond me. Their sales tactics are bait and switch, unethical, and dishonest. They lied to me and wasted 3 months of my time. As a local contractor they will never have my business. If you value your time, money, and honesty I suggest you go somewhere else. If I was the owner of this business I would be deeply embarrassed at the way my representatives were conducting business. They claim to have mailed me a refund on my deposit, I will believe it when I see it. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Brought our ATV in as we could smell gasoline whether it was on or off.  First thing they did was sell us on a $400 service and we were told that could take care of problem. They said it should be done within the week. They called to say they suspected that carburetor and that would take time and money.  Guess what, wasn't the carburetor! They needed more money AND TIME! All said it was over $1600 and when we got it home is still smells of gasoline and does not run as smooth as it did before we brought it in.  Keeps stalling. Since then we have found a small business called Full Service Power Equipment, he is amazing and truly tries to keep the price down. Every time I drive by California Custom Trailers and Motorsports I still get so angry for the run around and overcharging. Lesson learned! read more

I took a motorcycle in for service. I was quoted a certain price and was charged twice as much as the estimate. The bike still does not work. I took it to a professional to have it repaired. They will not refund my money. A friend took his KTM there and asked specifically for a DOT approved set of tires. He drove all the way to get the bike when they said it was ready and they had off road tires on the bike. They are unprofessional. The sales staff is irritating and knows nothing about dirt bikes. read more
