Shocked and really disheartened by my experience here. I bought a bike from them in early 2019 and returned over 4 years for regular service and gave them a lot of business. When I was moving out of town, I decided to consign my bike with them. I signed a contract that stated they would take 15% and with the bottom dollar I was willing to accept for the bike and left. Due to being international it was very hard to get in touch via phone and I used primarily email. The previous sales manager Beth who I left my bike with quit the job and John Agee took over. When my bike finally sold I had a hard time getting responses via email and tried calling but was told to call back since he was with a customer. I finally got a hold of him and he told me the sale price and the amount I'd get and after hanging up the phone the numbers didn't seem right. I emailed confirming the address to mail my check to and asking for a breakdown of the sale which was ignored. I pushed the email and he only responded about the address. I emailed twice again and was ignored. My calls were also unsuccessful. Later that month I was heading back the US to visit. When I received the check he'd sent out it was unsigned. I was pretty frustrated at this point and decided I needed to go in person. It was very frustrating to spend time on this during my short trip to Santa Barbara. When I went in he signed the check and I asked about the sale and why the amount I got was so little and he said he'd need to look into it that night and would get back to me in the morning. Of course the next day I heard nothing, and when I called he was "with a customer" and I left my info and he never got back to me. I went back to the shop and lo and behold he's at his desk free with no customers. I asked about the sale and he brushed me off saying "oh sorry I'd love to give you extra money for your vacation but the numbers are right" and tried to leave it at that. At this point I was angry and asked to see the contract. He left to get it and came back and saw (somehow for the first time) a post it note on it and then disappeared for 30 minutes. In the meantime I calculated and saw that the total commission they were trying to take was over 40% of the sale. I was livid. He came back in and gave an excuse of the VIN number being off by one and that being the reason for the mishap and blaming everyone else. I had also had some work done on the bike before consigning and he claimed it was mistakenly charged twice but the missing money owed to me was over $200 more than the service charge which I had prepaid. Unsurprisingly the amount he attempted to give me was just about the same amount I'd said was the bottom dollar I'd accept them to sell it at. It was very obviously shady business and he saw a young woman who lived abroad and thought he could take advantage. He finally gave me the money but still never gave an overview of the sale which is just really bad business, as is refusing to answer emails and dodging phone calls. It was the kind of experience that just leaves you feeling cheated, disgusted and disrespected. I'm shocked an established business would attempt to steal from a customer and I would never in my life come to this place again. I would think twice before bringing your business here. read more

I am absolutely perplexed by this Dealership. I took a half day off and drove from Vandenberg AFB to buy either a used KTM 690 enduro, but also ride a used Yamaha WR450F that was street legal. After several minutes of looking at the bikes outside, another regular customer finally alerted the only sales representative to maybe help me pick out a bike. He was helpful, but the sale girl was either under the weather, apathetic, or just didn't want to listen to me. Odd for a Tuesday at 10:30 AM. I was the only potential customer there and I said I wanted to buy a bike today. She showed me the brand new KTM-500 EXEC 6-Day which is way too much bike. I explained to her that I just completed knee surgery and after 6 months it was time to buy a good used bike and go on some nice trail rides and Ballinger or Hollister. She then shows me the new 2020 Honda Dual Sport 450L. Now the KTM is $13K plus all the fees, and the Honda is a couple grand cheaper. I am 58 and just want to get back into riding and not have to spend top shelf money on something I'll end up returning. I walked her out to both the used bikes I was considering and she gave me no information. I had to ask question after question. (maybe she doesn't get a commission on used bikes?) Not once did she offer to get the keys and fire up each bike. I had my helmet and cash for both. So I figured she was the niece of the owner and I just made up my mind on the KTM 690. The only thing was it had street tires and I was going to ride 60% dirt. So I give her the biggest buying signal I can...."If I buy the KTM 690, about how much s it to put DOT legal knobbies on it?" I was told I'd have to go to the parts counter to ask. I said just ballpark me. I like the bike but would have to add the cost of parts and labor for the tires. she repeated again that I needed to go to the parts counter for that information! F'N AMAZING! It's REALLY TOO MUCH TROUBLE? this dealership must have money coming out of their A$$ and don't need sales. But buying that KTM would have established a relationship with me and I was thinking of a small quad runner for my girlfriend after a few outings. So let me ask the owner, what is the magic word or phrase to a buy a motorcycle there? Is there a code, a secret handshake besides saying I want to buy this bike and have cash????? Why not have a self serve express line for a customer to do everything themselves and leave Beth out of it. AND, this is not the first time this has happened. Not sure what has happened to sales, but if you're that lazy to get a price on two new tires for a $7,700 sale, you won't be there for me when I want service. I've been in this shop a few times over the years for my 2012 Honda CBR 250. Recently I went in to upgrade some of my old gear and get some oil/filter. I was surprised with how much it has changed. There are a lot more options to choose from and it felt like it got a face lift. The employees who helped me were really knowledgeable and didn't pressure me into any weird add ons or sales pitches. They seemed to all have experience with riding and gave me their honest opinions. I also noticed there was a female worker and I ended up chatting with her and talked about our moto experiences briefly, which I thought was cool. More women should ride! If I could give less then one I would these people will sit here and blame the customer for everything I have called for they quoted me a price for the first service and when it came time to bring it in they told me it was going to be 150 more and they told me I didn't understand what they told me initially so I went somewhere else that treated me much like a person then they did. That was the first time I called. I just called to complain about my bars shifting towards me almost to my lap and to the right about an inch from dropping it going 5 mph in the dirt and they told me it's my fault and they are suppose to do it when I went to adjust them back to the correct position the bolts were only finger tight the service guy told me that's how it's suppose to be before jumping down my through and telling me it's my fault I do not ever recommend going through these people read more

They helped me get the bike i wanted, let me know if anything changed and made the process easy. Helped me get some gear as well. Without hesitation they came out, towed my bike back to the shop and even gave me a ride home. I cant explain enough how helpful they all were to go out of there way to make sure i was taken care of. You can't find anyone to ever help you and when you finally track someone down they can't even acknowledge you as a human being. Picked up an R3 from here the other day and just wanted to give a big thanks to Beth in sales for all her help. I had come in a few weeks ago just to look around and really liked the R3, but was totally ready to take my business elsewhere if I felt the push of a typical salesperson. Instead, Beth was super cool and just talked with me about my riding experience, what I currently rode, etc. She answered all my questions and basically let me sell myself on the bike. She never once tried to convince me to get something I didn't want, in order for her to earn a higher commission. If it wasn't for her there would likely be a store elsewhere that got my money. Santa Barbara Motorsports First of all I would like to say that I WOULD NOT SEND MY WORST ENEMY TO THIS PLACE I called them in regards to a 2020 kawasaki kx 85 which they had listed as a Pro Circuit built bike I spoke with one of there sales people and asked what had been done to the bike as I was looking for a modified bike for my grandson, he told me that it had a 112cc pro circuit modified motor, revalved suspension ,coated cylinder for running race gas and that it had been completely inspected by there in house mechanics . So I went ahead and put a deposit and scheduled an appointment to purchase the bike that saturday. I had a 2019 Husqvarna tc 65 with 60 hours on it which I was going to possibly trade in when I got there I waited about an hour for them to inspect the perfect condition 65 for them to say that they were not interested in taking it in trade not a big deal since they were not wanting to get me squat for anyway so I went to the bank and got the rest of the cash to complete the transaction when I returned not more then 30 minutes later I waited for 4 hours with my grandson and son in law to get in to do a cash sale for the bike . while waiting I asked if we could take the bike out and start it when we started it the bike sounded like it had a piston slap the salesman assured me that they had went thru the bike and that it was it perfect condition ( stupid me should have walked away then but having my grandson there who is 12 years old and was excited about the new bike I went ahead and purchased it) he had races the next weekend and had not been able to ride it till then ( he has been racing MX since he was 2 yrs old so he knows bikes) he raced the Mini Major 2 races a day bfor 3 days thats 6 races of 12 to 15 minutes each running race fuel as the bike was supposed to be built for the next weekend we went to race and the second lap the bike top end went after opening it up it was the wrist pin bearing went out and did catastrophic damage to the head which was supposed to be covered by Santa Barba Motorsports warranty when I called to talk to them did not get a call back so I emailed telling them the exact thing that I explained above the sales/purchaser lady told me that the bike was built for race fuel and that if I was not running race fuel that would cause that to happen Anyone who knows bikes would know that is BS, I called pro circuit that next monday and they looked the bike and told me that that was all untrue that the bike was bought from them but there were no engine mods except the cylinder coating so basically they LIED DIRECTLY TO MYSELF AND MY SON IN LAW the bike has now been down for about a month and a half waiting for the cylinder and everything else that broke costing me around 1000.00 when I first wrote there manager wrote back but after I explained everything to him never heard from them again so bottom line is THINK TWICE ABOUT PURCHASING ANYTHING FROM THESE PEOPLE BECAUSE THEY WILL LIE TO YOUR FACE AND DO NOT STAND BEHIND THERE WARRANTYS AT ALL I am in the motorcycle industry and bike 2 to 3 bikes a year and this was by far the worst experience I have every had with a motorcycle dealership in my 50 years of buying motorcycles GO TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP OR GET BURNED read more

After a 7mo wait, my bike finally arrived at the dealer today! They'd tendered a written offer and charged a deposit to my credit card upon my agreement. Here's the offer, cut-pasted from their email: "The quote I gave you was $5,193.91 so the remaining balance on the bike is $4,993.91. The expected ship date for this bike is 7/29 and we should have it built out and available for pickup in mid to late August. Covid has affected receiving past shipment dates so I will keep you informed if there are any delays on the bike. Here is a price breakdown. Unit price: $3,899 Freight: $395 Set up: $291 Documentation: $85 Registration: $158 MVSC (Motor Vehicle Sales Charge--this is the what the DMV charges for us to efile through them): $30 CA Tire Recycle Fee: $3.50 Tax: $332.41 Please let me know if you have any questions and I will reach out when we get updates on this bike." So today just before I left to pick up the bike they emailed me a revised quote, and raised the price from $5,200 to $6,000. As follows: Unit Price $3,899 Freight $700 Dealer Prep $450 Sales Tax $397.89 Doc Fees $85 Lic Fees $158 Tire Recycle Fee $3.50 ADM $276.61 MVSC $30.00 Total $6,000 I sent them their own orig written quote. Nowhere on the quote did it infer 'subject to change'. They told me to 'deal with it'. As if $5,200 weren't gouge enough, they felt it worthwhile to whore themselves against their own written, tendered offer for $800. So that's the price of their integrity sellout-- eight hundred dollars. I told Santa Barbara Motorsports to shove it up their @$$. Just what they were hoping for. read more

I'd like to thank the owner for his response to my issue with his business. He was very nice on the phone and took a sincere interest in my issue with his situation. He was courteous and even said he would send a gift certificate to us, which I felt was going above and beyond what's necessary. So thank you. However, his sales manager left an indelibly awkward voicemail that didn't make me want to do business with him. And in response to his points... 1. I wasn't challenging the charge for the motorcycle or the set up fees. I've purchased a Harley and 2 KTM's new as gifts and am well aware of how it works. I don't think it's unreasonable to request a breakdown of these fees. Nor do I think it's unreasonable to expect this to be given to me in a polite manner. I wasn't willing to pay a delivery fee, but was willing to pick it up myself. 2. I absolutely WAS challenging a $350 fee to use my credit card. I have NEVER been asked to pay an EXTRA fee just to use a credit card to pay for an item. EVER, in any business, at any time. This is a practice I am unfamiliar with in the motorcycle world or anywhere for that matter. Unfortunately the sales team at this establishment has left much to desired. read more
