Kendra is prompt and does a great job. I love a great shampoo with a little extra massage of my scalp, and let me tell you, Kendra never skimps on her time. Her personality is still as upbeat and positive as the first day I met her. I appreciate her understanding that I have my service dog, and keep him confined in businesses out of courtesy to others; and that it does not bother her that I wear a mask. She's very supportive and kind with regard to both and I wish I could give her an extra star!! In any case, I was driving through downtown San Rafael the other day and decided to bust out with my handy Yelp mobile app. I typed in "hair cut" and my location, and I discovered Quality Haircuts. I parked at the nearby Safeway lot and took my chances on a walk-in visit. Fortunately, I didn't have to wait long. This place is certainly a no-frills barber shop (I think there's only one or two chairs). So don't come in expecting a fancy-schmancy hair salon with all the bells & whistles. It's a one-woman show - her name is Susan. Very sweet, Asian woman. At first, there was a bit of a language barrier. I asked her to shave off all my hair and I think she thought I actually wanted her to use a blade and shaving cream (which she refused to do). But once we were all on the same page, she turned her electric razor on and started trimming away. 10 minutes later I was back to my shiny, bald self. Was it the best hair-cut I've ever received? No, not really. But for $20 + $5 tip, it did the trick. * Small warning - this barber shop is located next to a soup kitchen, so you might come across some unsavory, aggressive characters. While I didn't feel like I was in harm's way, I still played it safe and glanced over my shoulder while walking down the sidewalk.
