When we parked our car, the outside of the building was so quaint and pretty! The color choice was clearly updated from the last photos I've seen on Yelp. There is now real trees/bushes but perfectly 'cut terf' surrounding the hotel building. It was beautiful! We walked into the (small...not grand) entrance and we were instantly greeted with an EAR TO EAR SMILE ! "Welcome in! Checking in today?" The front desk attendant was kind, peppy and helpful! She allowed us to check in 'early' without up charge as long as we waited 10 mins until the clock hit 2!! So we drove over to the surrounding shops: Target! Sephora! barnes&Noble!!! Hobby Lobby. THE LOCATION MADE THIS HOTEL EVEN MORE WORTH IT!!! I especially enjoyed that the Fairfield Marriot was snug in between 2 other "well known" brands of hotels (residence Inn Marriot & Spark By Hilton) This made me feel like I was on vacation!!! The Fairfield was still going through a small Remodeling stage, BUT I SO ENJOYED THE ATMOSPHERE! TO THE LEFT is the lobby and breakfast sitting area, everything is crisp, clean, tan, whites & modern beiges and the labeling from the Marriot Branding is gorgeous ! **((People seem to touch on smells so here's my take: everything smelled fresh, NOT TOO FAKE HEAVY PARFUME, not too over powering cleaning product. It was all perfect! in the hall and in the hotel! In the halls , It smelled like a childhood memory from when I'd stay at my familys Lake house ) )* Most of the guests were given a ground level floor room ...& I surprisingly APPRECIATED THIS!! I was able to walk out of my room , wonder down the gorgeous moody (remodeled) hall and into the warm morning fragrance of coffee & waffles! Every SINGLE TIME a guest was within a Marriot employees eye sight THEY INSTANTLY RECEIVED a "HI! how you/ Good morning..." Everyone was so eager to help, provide and to create the best experience they could! I enjoyed our room immensely ***I WILL NOT SIT ON HERE AND BITCH ABOUT 'Paint peeling off of the wall of a small corner in the bathroom' BECUASE : WELCOME TO THE BEACH: THE AIR IS DIFFERENT! The fresh healing sea salt air will do this sometimes. Very disappointed with this Marriott, definitely not what I expect from a Marriott. Worn down, in need of updates. Hotel has a musty moldy smell on entrance, though room did not smell. Worst part was the duvet cover had blood stains on it and had obviously not been washed. Just gross! And they charge $170/night!! Should have been similar to Motel 6 pricing. read more

This hotel is kinda old and dingy. Our room only had 1 towel and 1 wash cloth and it was a 2 queen bed room. They still have the little bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and lotion, not the big dispensers. There was only 1 bar of soap for the sink AND shower. The AC worked well. The bed was decent. There was not an outlet near the desk so the bed had to be my desk. There were not enough outlets anyway. My phone didn't work. My coworker's tv didn't work. My tv worked but kept turning off. I would then have to find the remote and figure out which channel I was on. The breakfast was okay and had a lot of grab and go items. read more

This place has all the charm of an interstate-side Motel 6, with all the pricing of a Marriott property. From the moment you arrive, you get the palatial view of conex containers littering the property and quickly notice they're doing their part to preserve the greenery with their lucious overgrown bushes/undergrown forests lining the building. Look up, you'll see the forest continues growing from the roof top. I did not find a way to visit the rooftop atrium, don't know if they charge extra for it. The one staff member I saw my whole visit was friendly enough, probably the only good part of this stay. She could have told me the pool side door locks (as in, you can't use your room key to unlock it) after a certain time before I found parking on that side of the building and tried entering with my handicapped relative, but eh. Downstairs hallway was hot. South Texas in the summer time doesn't require air, but it'd be nice to not break into a sweat *inside* the building. The elevator must double as a tool shed or demo room. Holes popped up the side from a pick axe(?), and it looked like someone took a grinder to it. So modern. The room is where this place really shined. You can tell they were going for the classic motel look. They have the janky tub, minimalist water pressure, with the 1800's plumbing that won't let the water go down. Maybe they just reduce the water pressure because the classic drains can't handle it? The patch work was done in original owner's-unqualified-nephew-can-handle-it. Toilet had not only it's standard utility but was the source of great entertainment with it's one missing toilet seat bolt, but, what didn't look like it was broken and patched let it's original 1970's style shine through. I appreciate the DNA-history left along the walls by the hotels esteemed prior residents. Boogers and probably food, not sure, sprawl the painted wall and pictures of this cozy temporary abode. Well placed mirrors allow the first bed to monitor all happenings in the bathroom with nary a movement, and if there's no one to spy on in the toilet you can veg out to an original 1990's plasma TV with cable. Just cable. I did find they advertise Netflix and all the cool hip new stuff on the TV, but couldn't figure out how to get it connected to my phone to stream or any wifi. TBF, I didn't try for long. Didn't try their breakfast, that may have been a positive? And I did not request a room change during my stay because this room's AC worked. Seriously cannot believe Marriott keeps it's name on this place. I mean, it's a Fairfield Inn, for whatever it's worth, but you still have a basic level of expectations on the room and this sh-tbox really missed even the basic mark. The photos on marriott.com are obviously not showing the real status of this location, and the pricing leaves you to believe that it's actually a standard Fairfield, but yeah, no. I wouldn't be as ticked as I am if I paid a price commensurate with the quality of the location, after all, I didn't die, but I feel wholly ripped off. read more

I spent a few days in the Corpus Christi area and stayed at this hotel. While the staff was very kind and rooms and amenities were highly questionable. Upon check in the staff informed the guest a few times of the construction but ensured us that we it would in no way impact our stay. Upon still inspection of my room it was noticed that the water had black specks in it (not shown). When asked about it to the hotel staff, they informed us that due to construction the water might have black specs in it. There was no further explanation as to why the water had foreign particles in it. Additionally, the shower seemed as though it had not been properly cleaned. There were cords from the TV and Clock that were not properly placed... and the smoke detector seemed to have been tampered with. We brought this to the staff, as well as it seemed like a safety issue in the staff informed us again that it was due to construction. The area around the hotel was bustling. There were plenty of stores and restaurants that were within walking distance or a very short drive. The hotel itself could use a lot of improvements and I do wish that the hotel staff was a little bit more knowledgeable about the construction and how it was impacting the stay. read more

We arrived at the Fairfield a bit later than we wanted to, which the front desk clerk assured us was fine. Upon arrival we checked in, and was told about breakfast. the front desk clerk was nice and professional. We went up to our room and got ready for the events of the evening. My daughter brought it to my attention that there was rust on the shower. Upon inspection it was confirmed that there was in fact rust all in the shower. Me and my daughter needed to get some things out of the car, so we figured why not get a glimpse of the pool. We took a back exit and got to the gate. I went to try to pull the gate open to access the pool area. and the whole gate almost fell over on me. A man yelled from the other side (seemed to be a staff member member). He told us to pull up on the gate, which we did. The man came over to the gate, to help us. it Revealed a very poorly kept pool area, and the staff member sitting at a table smoking and drinking beer. What kind of establishment condones this?! We finished up our evening out, and came back in about 11, to find more than 5 staff members sitting around visiting in the lobby. We went up to our room and upon inspection, I realized the bedding was dirty. maybe if they had staff members working, and not cutting up in the lobby, more things would have been up to standard. The following day I braved a shower and wore my flip flops due to the uncleanliness of the situation. We went to breakfast, which was good and what seemed to me to be the only clean place in the hotel. We ended up checking out early to go see the Lexington amongst other things. The only reason I gave 2 stars was because the breakfast was kid approved, and the staff was friendly. I love Corpus, but this hotel stay was nightmare fuel. When I come again, I will pass on this hotel. read more

Great stay with a group!! 7 rooms and all were cold and clean. Floors felt a little damp, and we had to wait for housekeeping even though we checked in around 5 pm. The staff here was extremely nice. However, this hotel definitely needs some remodeling. It is extremely old, the elevator and room both has the old carpet smell that lingers. Our room's toilet smelled of urine and the water continued to run depending on how you flush it. It was almost vacant when we stayed, but the available grab and go breakfast was barely there. Well, compared to the Drury Plaza Hotel in San Antonio, this seemed like a red-neck hotel and was a similar price. This is by a major one way frontage road and so it's quite noisy with blackout shades that don't really block out light. The area did seem safe. Rooms are small. Bed was terrible. Woke up every a sore back and I'm a small person 5'4 120lbs. The breakfast is dismal at best. Terrible yogurt, pre-wrapped muffins and if you want to wait, you can get a waffle or some scrambled eggs. No real fruit or cereal options (cornflakes). For a Marriott, I expected much better. This was way over priced and we won't be back. read more

Terrible hotel in business practice and cleanliness. I am a business traveler staying over 150 nights in hotel rooms every year. I booked an Executive Suite in this hotel for a few nights. first off, I had to prove that I had confirmed reservation at the front desk as they were trying to tell me that the hotel was full for the evening and to find another place... even though I am a platinum elite member... Jessica at the front desk should have been able to locate me a new room if the original hotel wasn't an option. Not just ceremonially tell me to go pound sand. I had to fight my way into a shit double queen room where the toilet was stained and the shower was dirty and rusted out. disgusting. Several times I had to inquire about the suite that I had originally paid full price for (not just upgraded because of the thousands of points that I have). After 1.5 days, the executive suite is also unclean. AVOID THIS PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE IF YOU COME TO CORPUS CHRISTI! read more

This place was nasty. Mold everywhere. I had not noticed because I was too tired and did not cover my face with the blankets but when I woke up and lifted the sheets, a strong smell of urine was noticed. The bed and sheets smelled like urine. My clothes and skin smelled like urine because of the bed and bedding. I was so disgusted. No one was at the front desk for me to complain about this. Loved this place, the only real complaint I have is that the pillows were unbearably soft. My head instantly sunk in and even using two pillows didn't help. The lady who worked the breakfast was really nice and did a great job. This was the highlight of my stay! When we got there to check in, our room was not ready. After half hour we got our room. The bath tub was full of sand and the bathroom floor was dirty. There was not enough towels. When I called the front desk I was told that they were out but as soon as some where clean they would bring some and never did. We found out at bedtime that the beds were dirty and full of sand. The room smelled like dirty feet or something. The toilet had a round seat on an oval toilet and it was wobbly. In the morning the whole hallway smelled like sewage. Hotel itself wasn't the best I've stayed in but I have to call out the amazing front desk associate, Veronica! She was beyond helpful, kind, and had great recommendations for restaurants/shopping/and manicure places and was just such a joy. I had some room issues (light wouldn't go on in the bathroom, noisy neighbors, etc.) and she was able to adjust my reservation and room situation with no attitude or problem at all. She is exactly who should be working at a front desk/in a customer-facing position and was an incredible reflection of the Marriott brand overall. I will come back to this hotel simply to have her as my front desk associate again!! read more

Hotel needs a good cleaning from entry to hallway carpet to rooms. We arrived last week and found only one wash cloth with two people staying 3 nights. Hotel out of regular coffee pkgs in the rooms. Tv/cable not working & wires hanging down the wall. 3- light boil a burned out, mildew in shower. Someone's dirty shoes & soaker hoses near & sometimes in middle of walkway entering front door. Pool was a disgusting green/ blue color with trash & leaves floating in it every day. Pool gate broken and pool gate to parking lot broken and always open. Was charged $3.00 daily for parking which made no sense with street parking right next to hotel. It was the most disappointing stay we've ever had at a Marriott. This hotel does not fit the Marriott profile of standards. read more

First I was not greeted as an awards member. When I went to my room, I noticed there were no water. I go back down, she says oh I didn't notice your awards number when you we're checking in, here's your water. She also didn't know that IHG and Marriott had joined.. what!! If you are looking for a clean and comfortable place to stay, then this is the place!! The staff is friendly, our room, bathroom and the sheets were clean. The beds were comfortable, pillows were soft, which the kids and I liked, but the hubby didn't. The water in the shower is hot, so be careful! Breakfast was hot and delicious, in case you are wondering what they served; they had a variety of yogurt, breads(bagels, muffins, banana bread), fresh fruits, oatmeal w/ toppings, cereal, batter for waffles, two styles of prepared eggs (cheese and condiments on the side) they had two different types of sausage (turkey and original). Oh, of course coffee, juices, and water. We only stayed for one night, but it did not disappoint! read more

This location has convenient access to shopping & dining, and is a short drive to the beach. The only real issue I had is with the crazy amount of mosquitoes that are in the plants/grass surrounding the hotel. It was so bad that if you used the side entrance, the hall had mosquitoes on the walls just waiting... and every time we opened the car door briefly we would have a handful fly inside immediately. Of course we all got bit. They really need to have pest control spray to help reduce the amount of mosquitoes around the hotel! read more

Book anywhere else than here. There customer service is not worth the price of what they charge for the experience to stay here. Management is poor and there front desk people are unprofessional and not properly trained. Got charged twice and still haven't seen it reimbursed to me. Rooms need maintenance, from beeping smoke detectors, clogged tubs and no liners in trash cans. A lot of these issues could of been handled better but the staff was rude and in need of customer service etiquette. Won't be staying there or any Marriott again. They hooked me in on this trip to go for the extra large King room for an extra $10 (plus earning a bonus 1000 rewards points.) I'm glad I did it. I got a nice sitting area and desk with strategically placed outlets for the laptop and a separate area for the bed, with a 37" LCD TV. The room came with a micro-fridge, too. Check-in was painless, service was thoughtful and helpful, and the breakfast was pretty good. I got a good night's sleep while on the road. What's not to like about that? read more

For a Marriott product, this place has a bit to go. The rooms are small, but clean and comfy. The bedding was fresh. The pool was clean. The service was a bit hit and miss. Checking in was great. Later I needed assistance and stood at the desk for about 5 minutes while the staff was in the back on their personal phone chatting with friends. In the morning, I asked for a late check out, which in this case I am a platinum member and late checkout outs are just part of the perks. The lady at the counter said that she did not know anything about that and would need to check with a manager. So a little training might need to occur before you stick people in front of a desk. All in all though, if you are looking for a place to fall asleep and enjoy a pool at a good rate, this one will do. I just would not plan ion being there for more than a couple days, or you might want to look elsewhere. read more

Stayed here for one night and was very pleased with the visit. It was a quick stay so I was not in the building very long, but what I experienced was great. The hotel is working on a remodel right now that is updating there rooms. I had one of the rooms that had been updated, and it was great. Everything was new and fresh, the room had plenty of space for me with a king bed, a desk and a sitting area. The breakfast was you typical Fairfield breakfast with a friendly staff and well stocked breakfast items. I think that as this location finishes there remodel , it will really make it a great place to stay. read more

This was my first visit to this location. But I'm very familiar with all of the hotel chains. Exceptionally nice staff. Genuinely sweet and caring. The included breakfast was more likened to having breakfast at Grandmas house. Donna stood out as a very attentive, but gracious host at breakfast. It was obvious Donna takes great pride in how travelers start their day. Breakfast had a nice variety that was impeccably prepared. Waffles and real cheese omelettes! Are you kidding me? Anywhere else this would easily be considered a full buffet followed by an additional bill. Very clean, newly remodeled hotel. Sheri Blasingame and Priscilla were very accommodating and on point, making my stressful business trip stress free. I will be back each month. read more

Beds are cozy and comfortable but bring an extra blanket if your roommates like a cold room;). Honestly staff was amazing. Truly. So so friendly. I'm only giving one start because... I want to warn EVERYBODY. If you have absolutely ANYTHING of value that you can not take into your hotel room do not stay here. By the time me and my group got back around 4:30-4:45 am after fishing and woke up to have breakfast by 8-9am.. our truck bed and cover had been broken and completely robbed. Thousands and thousands worth of equipment gone. Brought lock cutters, cut the lock off our toolbox. Now I know this happens but.. Worst part?? They have absolutely no external cameras. None. What so ever. No it's not the hotels fault our truck got broken into at all, but simply the no cameras in an area like this is unacceptable.. especially since I talked to the staff at the counter and she said this happens to all three hotels side by side very often. Crime rates are very high in corpus right now, but never would I have thought in 3-4 hours of having the truck parked locks would've been cut and bed would've been broken into with a screwdriver or some kind of miscellaneous tool. Save yourself the trouble of trying to get it written off as total loss and just play it safe somewhere else. Rooms are clean and beds are comfortable, but if you're not comfortable with boats, equipment, kayaks, and much more being robbed blind from you.. don't risk it. Waited 3 hours for a cop to show up and do absolutely nothing. At all. I'm very disappointed in CCPD and not necessarily the hotel or their staff, but the lack of awareness especially when they know that the crime rate in that area is so high.. they could do better. My husband, son and I enjoyed an overnight/extended stay at the Fairfield Inn & Suites this past weekend and loved being so strategically close to a variety of restaurants, markets and stores (within walking distance) and to the beach and shoreline attractions (approx. 10-minute drive)!!! We reserved one of the 3rd-floor guest rooms housing a king bed & sofa bed [as reflected in the hotel photo] and were pleased to discover how spacious it was for the three of us! Pros - free Wi-Fi, clean room with microwave and small refrigerator, adjustable heating and air conditioning, hot shower (even during the early afternoon), complimentary breakfast (which included yogurt, waffles, eggs, Canadian bacon and sausage)! Special thanks to Michelle for being so cordially responsive to my myriad of questions and accommodating to our special requests during a phone call prior to travel! During our next visit to Corpus Christi, we will more than likely make reservations at the Fairfield Inn & Suites and would definitely recommend this hotel for its amenities, reasonable prices and favorable location! read more

Nice but very basic! We normally stay at the Springhill Suites but the Fairfield is ranked higher on another site so we decided to give it a try. It is clean but it is very very basic. Probably will not stay here again only because the room is very small and the side chair is more for a child than an adult. read more
