This is an underrated, under-wraps bar on the 11th floor to take in the whole bay view while in the comfort of ac and great bartenders. While it's not open on Sunday, if you plan around that schedule, this place is great to watch the sun set on a Saturday or Friday evening. As a side note: I left my wallet in a seat on a Saturday night here, and it was waiting for me at the front desk the next morning. Completely intact. This hotel has all the goods.. Amazing views, Great restaurants within walking distance and close to the Lexington and the Aquarium. But don't be deceived We did our adventures all day even enjoyed the pool the hotel has..Then it happened no room service at 6 pm that evening which meant no towels, no hand towels, and not even wash cloths. Went to the staff on the floor and was told they would get to it whenever they could. Mind you they are about to leave for the evening... Went downstairs and told front desk she messaged the staff so we went back to our room and still no service. Well I have never had this before so not sure what to do.. We checked in for 2 nights at Bestwestern in Corpus on 300 North shore -6/27-29/26 our 5 yr anniversary was on 6/26 we decided to spend sometime near the water. Drove down to Corpus Christi from Austin needed some honeymoon stuff near the water. Erica and the rest of the staff very friendly at the front desk we gave 5 star. Breakfast was hot and delicious our room was clean and comfortable. Love the clean halls &floors throughout the facility. Enjoyed our stay to the fullest. Location is in a pretty cool place. You're right by the marina beautiful viewing at night. Hotel was decent honestly. The breakfast is VERY mediocre. The only redeeming qualities of this place would be the view in the mornings and the young lady who checked me in. I believe her name was Mikayla. I apologize if I spelled that wrong. Let's talk about the room. I'm on a business trip. There is no actual desk. One of those sliding "lap" desks, for lack of a better term, is all they provided, but not a proper chair for working at said "desk." They keep the lobby and entry on the 2nd floor by the pool at about 65 degrees, but I could never get the AC to cool the room below a low, muggy temp (I do not trust the thermostat's opinion) The bathroom did not have a sink in it. The sink was next to the closet, which was next to the door. One of the elevator doors took forever to close, while the other one frequently jammed when trying to open on my floor. One instance in particular, it took over two minutes to open once the elevator reach my floor. Finally, I requested housekeeping one day by putting the little card on my door handle. When I returned that evening from work, not only was the room untouched, someone had flipped the door hanger to the "do not disturb" message. Finally, I left very early in the morning and did not wish to wake the employee sleeping at the front desk. Later, while driving, I got a text asking if I want to checkout, and if I did, to reply "checkout." I did this, and then I received two later texts, the latter of which (2 hours later) offered a $25 late checkout if I wanted to "sleep in." I called the hotel. I incorrectly pressed "1" for hoping I could get to the front desk. Instead, I was routed to a snarky lady who informed me they do not have the means by which to transfer me to the hotel itself, thus necessitating a second call to get checked out. The young lady that time then told me the texts were "just automated." I asked her why it would ask me if I wanted to check out if it was unmonitored, and she offered to refer me to a manager the NEXT DAY. The area around the hotel can be very loud, and as the end of my stay coincided with some pirate festival, streets were blocked off. read more

We stayed for two days and enjoyed it. I took a star off of my review because the sliding glass doors to the balconies are all welded/screwed shut. You can look the sliding doors but you can't go on them, according to someone at front desk the city says they're not structurally sound after the last hurricane passed through. The toilet in our room was a too short, another star bites the dust. The room was clean. We ate the free breakfast both mornings, it was good, slightly above average. The elevators are small, may explain the smaller luggage carts. Lots of cool stuff nearby, we walked to most of the restaurants we wanted to try. The First Friday Art Walk was within walking distance, we enjoyed looking at everything and taking pics, even bought a few things. read more

Location, location, location. The views of the marina can't be beat from this long-time resident of Corpus Christi. We had a room on a high floor at the front end of the building - views were spectacular. Apparently hurricanes and jumpers caused management to lock the sliding doors to the room balcony's (sigh). Kids must stay feee & of course who doesn't love the included breakfast buffet? Texas shaped waffles & my absolute favorite a yogurt dispensing machine + strawberries + blueberries to make a parfait!! The lounge on the 11th floor has a view worth a cocktail or two! The swimming pool was kid temperature and had lots of happy kids. The bedding is meh, and the carpets are worn but we loved our stay and will be back! read more

If I could rate this 0 stars I would. My fiance and I booked a room to celebrate our engagement as a staycation due to my health issues. We get there and they tell us they don't rent rooms to locals!!!! Like I have never heard of this and the room was paid in full! Why on earth would you turn down money just because we are locals?! The old girl is TIRED. Coffee shop doesn't open until 10:30 AM. Positive: The front desk staff is very friendly and professional. They were nice about allowing us a later check out if we wanted. The free breakfast is decent, lots of choices very clean and guest friendly set up. They have gluten and dairy free food choices. There is a coffee shop in the lower level. The rest: There are not enough luggage carts to go around. We are on a long road trip, and we have a heavy cooler, which my husband had to carry in from the car into the elevator. The coffee shop doesn't open until 10:30 AM, because they offer free drip coffee upstairs at the breakfast bar. What?!? It's not espresso! The only non-dairy cream choice is coffeemate creamer. I realize this is a complementary breakfast, but I would gladly pay $5 -$6 for a latte with almond milk in the morning. And to the friendly manager who told me "but it's great coffee" when I inquired about why we couldn't get espresso in the mornings: the best drip coffee will never be as good as the weakest espresso. They are two different things. Coke is not Pepsi. Sherbet is not ice cream. (Sidenote: the coffee was very weak.) This hotel looks like it was really something in the 70s, maybe even into the 80s. At this point, it's just tired. The weirdest thing, the rooms with balconies do not open. So you see a balcony in the pictures, but the doors have literally been screwed shut. There is a flyer in the room that says if there's a fire or emergency, first responders will come up through the inside to rescue the guests. Still this makes me very uncomfortable. Plus, I just like the fresh ocean breezes and it seems like the windows overlooking the ocean would be the best thing this room has going for it. The ventilation system is incredibly loud and forceful, and it feels like there's higher air pressure like in clean room at a lab. When people in other rooms in the hallway open and close their doors, it makes our door jiggle in the lock. It woke us up many times throughout the night. If you turn the fan speed up above medium, there is a rattle in the vent. There are many coats of paint on the walls, there have been previous cracks and holes in the walls that were poorly patched and then painted over, but you can still see them. Everything looks dingy. Bathrooms have new tile, with lots of gaps, black grout. Rooms have strangely colored avocado and chartreuse color block carpet, that I suspect never looked clean, even the first day it was laid. Everything looks like it has been updated in the last 10 years, but doesn't quite go together. We did like the photos in the room, of local landmarks and cityscape views. The linens were clean, plenty of fluffy pillows. The beds were not hard, but somehow my spouse and I both woke up with backaches. read more

Gave it a 1just because they attempted to help so let's get into it. My wife and I came into town (Corpus Christi) from Houston to visit family we got in a little late around 9pm checked in and got into the room, it was so cold in the room. The temperature outside was in the mid 50's the temperature in the room was set at 60° so the room was uncomfortably cold we tried rasing the temp, the heater wouldn't work. So we thought to take a hot shower, that would warm us up so it won't be so bad. Well the hot water didn't work...... I know what you're thinking, we let the shower run 20-30 minutes to get hot it never warmed up. Needless to say we didn't get what we paid for . Uncomfortable sleep and unable to shower. read more

I was skeptical at first booking this hotel based off reviews but we had an awesome stay. The location is decent, close to North and McGee beaches and good dining nearby. Close to hurricane alley water park as well! The room was clean and seemed updated. The beds were comfortable and the temp in the room was nice and cool. The shower was awesome, good pressure and the shower/toilet was in a separate room from the sink which was cool. The hot breakfast was great! Lots of options like eggs, sausage, bacon, ham, waffles, pastries! The staff was so friendly. Every time we were in the lobby we were greeted. I've traveled a lot and stayed in a variety of hotels but I think this is the friendliest staff I've seen. We are planning our next trip here and plan to stay here again. DO NOT BOOK YOUR STAY HERE!!! My bf and I stayed for two nights and three days. The hotel is fine itself nothing crazy but our balcony was sealed shut so we couldn't even enjoy stepping out on it. The microwave didn't work and when we called for help the receptionist said he would call us back to help and never did so we had no way to heat up our food even though it was a promised amenity. I then proceed to check my bank account and get a random charge of $99.64 when the reservation was already prepaid. I called and they said they would refund the charge, I have yet to see the refund but I'll give it a couple days due to bank situation. When we went to check out, I expressed my concern about this to Zeke and he just proceeded to tell me to have a good day and not address the mistakes on the hotels end. He did not even apologize and did not give a single damn that the hotel treated us poorly the entire stay. Will never be coming here again. read more

We stay here whenever we are in Corpus. We like that they pet friendly, convenient to parks and restaurant, have wonderful staff and a great breakfast. The pool is beautiful and I like that it's shady in the afternoon. The only thing I don't like is the dirty windows. The window is floor to ceiling and overlooking the marina, sea wall and ocean. The balcony doors are sealed shut so no one can get on the balcony! Which means staff can't clean the outside of the windows. Will I be able to see the beautiful view next time I am here? read more

First off there is no parking, we called a few times and desk did not answer, the balcony doors is glued shut, the walls are thin, people are slamming those the doors and you can feel the vibrations of the slam because it's so Loud, I'm constantly getting woken up by the water because when the neighbors showers or other people on this floor shower the pipes scream A loud nosie the whole time. If you like bare minimum this place might be for you. They only have around 8 tv channels in English, again with the walls are so thin that I heard a small little poodle like dog crying / screaming on all the days that I was here because their owners just ditch them there and leaves, there are only three SMALL elevators and within the time I was here I saw 2/3 broken, my fiancé waited around 25 mins waiting for a elevator because we had a wagon and when we asked if someone from downstairs can hold a elevator for us at the bottom so we can check out and leave their response was " oh my gosh let me look at the cameras ." I'm not sure what looking at the cameras are going to do so that that point he would be waiting for another 10 mins so he ended taking all of the stairs down . This place does the bare minimum and dose NOT care about their costumers just taking your money. I would rather pay three times the price at a different hotel then deal with this management and shitty place. This is a great place for all the extras you get the hot breakfast with eggs, meat, cereals, gravy, and waffles. Of course there's more and the people are friendly and attentive. There are no comforters on the beds; thin blanket tucked between two sheets. I've been awake since 4am cold & uncomfortable. Call the front desk to ask for a comforter. She located one then tells me to come get it. I book Best Western & Hilton for my family events in Mansfield TX, therefore my respect for the Best Western brand was to (Customer Service). This stay is disappointing as I'm booked for another day; it's not going to work at this level of discomfort. Hot Shower & Clean Comfortable room was my only option expectation after driving 6hrs. To end on a positive note; the greeters at the front desk were welcoming. It's no smoking on the property. Not one to typically post bad reviews but this was truly one of a kind experience this chain of hotels. My wife, 20 month old and myself came to stay here for a free night, I reserved 2 nights but at check in I asked to cancel the 2nd night which they said was fine. The next day, I called in for a later check out because my baby was sleeping - at first they approved noon, then I called back and they said Ok we can do 1 because we have a reservation on this room, I said fine (keep in mind I had one reservation number) cleaning lady knocked on the door and said are you staying with us an extra night. I said no and then we checked out and waved everyone goodbye at the front desk at 1.. We drove home in pouring rain and I get a bill of $186 for the extra night. Confused I confronted the hotel to ask them to reverse the charges. After 4 calls to the front desk, the run in with the cleaning lady and the claim that there was another reservation number on the room - they denied me a reversal of the charges - and offered a free stay at the property. In two decades of staying at hotels I have never had a dispute about insisting that my charge stays even when I didn't stay in the hotel. I even had gas receipts of driving home to Austin that night, but the hotel insisted - not to mention the voucher they then tried to offer me was to stay at the same hotel again. How can I trust the same staff that fooled me and basically stole my money? I called corporate only to be reverted back to this hotel and told to file a credit card dispute on this. read more

No Room For You!!! Booked a room here online for date night with my wife after the kids sitter ordered us to take the entire evening and have fun! Friends have recommended the hotel bar because of great views and always wanted a reason to check it out. We've spent three years caring for a child with cancer and spent a lot of time apart and needed some time alone after the office Christmas dinner. We arrived to check in at 11 pm and upon providing ID are told we cannot check in and that the hotel has a strict policy of not renting rooms to locals. What!?!?!? This policy is not written anywhere on the website or in the lobby and the staff could not explain why this policy was in existence other than to say locals have trashed rooms. My biggest issue was they did not have accessible balconies in the rooms or anywhere in the complex. Would have been fine if they were upfront about it but they still show pictures of the balconies and have the description of including the balcony on third party sites. The crazy thing is the balconies have been closed since Harvey. It's been almost two years and they haven't fixed/reopened them? Are they just going to leave them closed forever? I tried to show them the email that said there would be a balcony in the room but they refused to acknowledge it, claiming it was a booking.com error and that it was not their fault because on their best western website, there is no mention of the word balcony. But there are still pictures... I wanted to cancel and rebook somewhere (Holiday inn was actually cheaper the night of...and guess what, they have balconies that work!) but they wouldn't let me without charging a nights stay. Facilities were mediocre otherwise. They did have a walk in shower which was nice, but the shower door kept rolling open so water would leak everywhere. The two elevators they have to service the entire complex are tiny ie can only fit 5 people each so good luck getting one that's not full. Breakfast was nice though, I'll give them a star for that. Not too happy with cleanliness of this newly remodeled hotel. Restrooms have that lack luster feel of a horrible design. The carpets have a penetrable stink of feet and muggy mildew. The beds and mattresses are clean, and front desk is very helpful. They are walking distance from beach with great views. Perfectly close to many attractions and freeways. The reason for two stars is only due to the cleanliness and upkeep of this hotel. I now this is a different environment but there should be no excuse for keeping things above the bar. Also! There is a very annoying buzz in the walls. Not sure if it is an old air unit or what but it is loud enough to keep you up for awhile. read more

Really torn about this review and this place. If we had paid full price, no way. But we got a fantastic deal via hubby's corporate rate so that made up for a lot. The front desk was great, and because I am a BW Rewards member, I got a free soda and snack, which hubby enjoyed. We got to the room and it had a great view, and was clean, and spacious and seemed very comfortable. That night though, everything changed.... This place is so freaking noisy, and the street out front seems to be a drag strip with lots of loud cars all dang night! Seriously, I felt like I was at a damn NHRA race track! The first night the room next to us had a party going on, and we finally had to call the front desk, but security quickly took care of it, which was nice. But still, between the cars, and the party, my Fitbit said I got like two hours sleep. Ugh. Breakfast was fabulous, and everyone super friendly. There was different breakfast both days, which was nice, and TONS of room for people, so you didn't feel like you were sitting on each other's laps which eating breakfast. Parking is kinda a pain because there are teeny spaces, and make sure you put your parking voucher in your dash! The lounge on the 11th floor nice, with a great view, and comfy chairs and couches, and friendly bartender, but high hotel drink prices. The first night though, the bartender brought us snacks which was super nice. Our 6th floor room had a good view, and I wonder if maybe higher up would have less street noise? I would probably stay again if I got the same fantastic deal, but would ask for a room higher up. read more

Kind of a no frills Hotel but it is clean and has a breakfast with lots of options. The rooms have fantastic views but unfortunately the doors to the balcony are bolted shut. The top floor bar and breakfast area have great views of the city and the water. Unfortunately during our stay the pool was closed but everything else was good. The coffee shop off the lobby also has lots of delicious coffee options. On our last day our flight wasn't until the evening and the staff at the front desk let us kept our luggage behind the front desk while we explored the city. Horrible gross dump, green mold on glued shut sliding glass doors THE POSITIVE REVIEWS HERE MUST BE FAKE!!! This place is absolutely horrible, and horribly overpriced, We checked in on points, the room was $200 so I thought it must be good, after all the OMNI is a block away for $239. This place was so bad that we left a little after we got there. We complained to Best Western and the front desk and they refused to give us our money back. I used a bunch of points to stay at this dump and they wouldnt give them back. The sliders were literally glued shut, there was green mold literally four feet high on the sliders. the view was great, if we could ignore looking through green mold. The management said "Well the mold is on the outside, not the inside, so the room is clean!" If that seems logical to you, then you probably deserve to stay in this hole. Spend the extra $40 and go to the Omni or Spend $130 and stay at a Fairfield by Marriot like I had to do, it felt like a clean mansion compared to this gross old dump. The place literally needs to be leveled. The manager Bridget Moeller needs to be fired, she literally laughed at us yelling through the phone at Summer saying there was no way they were going to refund the room because we had "put our bags in the room already" (know your worth Summer work someplace that treats you right). Only one elevator works of course. GOODBYE BEST WESTERN!! Last time I ever book a BW property. They are allowing too many gross dumps. Room smelled bad, but that's not the worst. The shower door stop was broken, and my son smashed his hand in between the handle and the glass edge (see video and pics). Hotel response was atrocious. They offered to call an ambulance, but I felt like that was overkill, and I told them so. Once I denied the ambulance offer, they were done. Didn't offer to move us, no discount, no apology.
