With so many other options in the area (you can see four others from this hotel), don't waste your money here. As a Marriott Rewards member I was initially impressed that the hotel had read and honored our request for a room on a high floor away from the elevator, and for extra towels, but it was downhill from there. The clerk who checked us in seemed to be there just for a paycheck. She didn't seem very happy to be there, nor was she friendly. When we got to our room we were unable to get him. The housekeeper was right there and she couldn't get in with her key either. We had to wait for maintenance to come and change the batteries in our door lock. While we DID get extra bath towels, we did NOT get extra of anything else. Two washcloths and two hand towels for four people. The air in the room can only be off or on cold. No heat. In order to get the room warm you had to turn the air up to 73 at which point the arctic blast would come on. The problem was that if you turned it off completely, it would be too stuffy. The windows don't open, so natural air was not an option. The bathroom fan is LOUD and stays on 24-7. We were told it's to keep the moisture out and avoid mildew. Despite the 24-7 cyclone, the fan doesn't actually clear the air in the bathroom. When someone showers the room steams up terribly and it's HOT. And despite their efforts, still mildew. The tiles in the bathroom are cracked and walking on them makes weird noises and feels like you're going to fall through. The beds were SO uncomfortable! We tossed and turned all night long. We definitely will NEVER stay here again. read more

Lodging was hard to find late in the evening...we had just arrived after a 13 hour drive from Washington. Another hotel recommended the Fairfield, if I promised not to say who told me. I took that as a strong endorsement, coming from a competitor! Indeed, the price was the best and the service and facility were excellent. We had to leave early AM, but enjoyed the breakfast, especially the scrambled eggs and sausage and bagel and orange juice and coffee...wow! Thank you, Fairfield! read more

I don't understand the high reviews for this hotel. The building looks faded, and the signage is hard to see. The facilities feel like a retro 1970s time capsule and are long overdue for upgrades; even the bathroom caulking is mismatched in different colors. On the positive side, the blanket was nice, the room was clean, and breakfast was adequate. BUT the real issue is the General Manager. Calls were not returned, and when I followed up, I was placed on hold indefinitely with no one checking back in. This reflects poorly on their ability to handle customer concerns. Overall, I cannot recommend this hotel despite the positive reviews from others. There are better options in the area that offer far greater value. read more

This was a nice room for a studio with two queen size beds. Everything was clean and well lit and the furnishings were not old at all, but the room looks sharp. I was there for a Friday night only and I thought that the cost was a little excessive at over $200. I would hope others agree with my findings and the pictures attached. My room was located almost at the extreme end of the hallway. It was nice and quiet down here. This place is worth going back to, but just remember that it's not the cheapest. read more

I stayed here recently for a weekend while in town for a family wedding. Overall it was a nice stay. I had a good room on the third floor, near the elevator, like I prefer. Decent bed, good location. Really enjoyed all the breakfast items. The lady managing the breakfast each day seemed to be on top of it and made it a nice experience. My one issue was mold in the shower. It was in the corners and along the glass edge and on the ceiling. But otherwise, it was a good stay. read more

Nice place stayed here for a training for a week and the breakfast was great. They had some good food I just made myself a sausage muffin with some scrambled eggs. With some oatmeal and put a bunch of fixings on top. The beds can be a bit of an upgrade they seem very broken in or they need to flip them. The hall walls down the room can be kept up clean I walked past by the whole week and saw the razor cap on the floor. The gym they got a few weights and a couple of machines but they need to keep up with the floor with a vacuum. The shower can use some kind of non slip a few times I almost fell inside the shower because it was slippery. But overall I'll stay here again and hopefully the beds are more comfortable next time. read more

Unfortunately we got the room on the first floor next to the indoor pool and ice machine. It was not pleasant.

We stayed here for our vacation because it was close to El Dorado Hills and Folsom and the variety of amenities close by and our usual hotel was booked solid. The rooms are pretty basic but appeared to be clean. The room air conditioning had only two temps it seemed: arctic blast or the precipice of hell. There weren't enough towels provided so had to request additional as there were 4 of us. Shower pressure was acceptable. The gym facility was very basic. I did use the treadmill which was great. My complaint was the temp I rise of the gym is controlled by hotel staff and was set at 78° which was pure misery. There was a pool indoor which we did not partake in the use of. Housekeeping only services your room every other day which is not great as we had to go to the front desk to ask for various toiletries and such. Overall if I had other choices that weren't fully booked I would have stayed elsewhere. read more

Only two wishes a complementary breakfast would last a little longer like 10:30 because we drive nine hours we're sleepy and they would leave the coffee counter out a little longer after the complementary breakfast. and Sunday I miss the biscuits and gravy. I had the pleasure of staying here for roughly five days, and I'm so glad I did. It is so conveniently located right off the freeway (no freeway traffic noise, don't worry), and is within 30-40 minutes to downtown Sacramento. It is right near the Palladio, which is an outdoor shopping center located in Folsom. A short drive up the hill and you can visit the El Dorado Hills Town Center, another wonderful outdoor shopping center that also has other amenities such as Target. A lovely place to stay if you'd like to experience some of the beautiful this area has to offer, while remaining close to Sacramento. Common issues you may experience in Sacramento are highly unlikely in this area as well. Room was very clean, which I am highly appreciative of. The continental breakfast was so helpful in the mornings, it's hours being 6:30am-9am Monday through Friday, and 7am-9:30am Saturday and Sunday. They set coffee out for their guests much earlier. I had wonderful interactions with staff from both the front desk and continental breakfast, and did I mention how appreciative I am of how thorough the maids are here! read more

Disappointed for a Marriott. Their gym is motion controlled for heat/air and lights. It was set at 72 degrees, but was 77 degrees when I went in. It never cooled down one degree during my entire workout and the lights even shut off while I was on the treadmill! During the summer, it was 88 degrees in the gymO and never cooled down one degree. During breakfast,(provided) they constantly ran out of food until we notified the front desk. At one point there were no bread products out at all-toast, pastries, etc. On a good note, their front desk staff could not have been better or friendlier. read more

Raise your hand if you're fatigued from COVID restrictions... that's what brought us here. We needed an escape... so we drove up for a long weekend getaway. The selling point to this hotel was the pool, fitness room, and free breakfast. Everything you see in the Yelp photos is exactly what this hotel looks like in real life. Normally I would've booked at Staybridge suites. The value there is simply unbeatable. I wish they had suites here that had a separated room. While most of the staff here tried to be courteous, there were a few details that kept them at a 3 star level. First -- everyone seems rushed. You can tell this by the way they interact with you, like they just need to check things off a list because they've got a lot to deal with. They're short staffed. Whoever works at the front desk has to check people in/out, handle breakfast service, manage the fitness room and pool signups, answer the phone, and deal with any other issues that come up. Second -- there needs to be a better system for pool and gym utilization. They have sign ups in 2 hour blocks but many times, I noticed the facilities being unused. There's gotta be a more efficient way to allow more usage of these amenities. Third -- the free breakfast is quite lackluster. Frozen breakfast sandwiches, packaged muffins, cereal, basic drinks, yogurt cups, oranges/bananas, granola bars. I understand it's a challenge to provide service during COVID times but there's gotta be better quality? I do appreciate the location of the hotel. It's very convenient and there's ample parking. Love that Costco is so close. I also felt very safe in the area. If I had a chance to stay at Staybridge, I think I would've been happier there. read more

Basic bare bones room jacked up from $150 to $300 per night for the holiday weekend. We were a bit desperate so went forward and booked it for a family event. Beds squeaked, not enough wash cloths for three, loud wall unit air conditioner/heating on one end of the room. The person sleeping in the fold out couch bed in front of it froze while we baked. It turned off and on all night. Two TV's in an open room, with no fold out doors between the two areas was awkward. This is advertised as a suite in website; not a suite of any sort IMO. read more

I picked this spot on location and price. As I was attending the Elite party and the PalladiGras party on a Saturday evening, I knew there would be some alcoholic merriment and shouldn't drive back over the hill. This hotel was an easy 10 minute walk to and from the Palladio shopping center. All wide, well lit sidewalks and crosswalks along the way. It took longer than I expected to drive in on highway 50, so I arrived in a bit of a hurry. The hotel was easy to find. Check quick. I ran up to the run to freshen up and head to the parties. The king room was fresh and clean. The room key must be placed in the slot next to the door inside to activate the lights and plugs in the room. The bathroom- spacious, very clean and white. The walk-in shower- I want in my house. Plenty of soft towels and Paul Mitchell products were available in the bath. I returned after 11pm, the lobby was well lit. The halls nice and quiet, slept like a baby. The next morning their idea of a continental breakfast is scrambled eggs or cheese omelette, oatmeal, self serve waffles, turkey or pork sausage, as well as nice looking fresh fruit and breads. Check out was quick. Since it was a very hot drive over, the very iced lemon water upon check in really hit the spot. Stay here again? Absolutely! read more

You are probably going here if you are visiting Lake Folsom College or in your way up to South Lake Tahoe from the Bay Area. Rooms are nice sized, remodeled and very clean. Bathrooms are a little larger than other similar quality hotels. Mobile checkin is available and they are a Marriott hotel if you are a Rewards member. The hotel has a small pool and a small sundry area near the reservation desk. Breakfast is available at 7am in the morning. Close by is the Palladia mall which has everything from Whole Foods to Johnny Rockets to Starbucks. An hour and a half from San Francisco without traffic, the hotel is just 5 minutes away from the college and 60 miles from South Lake Tahoe. read more

We arrived at about 5:30am and was greeted with the best customer service from Michelle... smooth check in she made us aware of everything we needed to know from the 24 hour gym, pool hours and breakfast... the decor in the lobby was awesome , neat and very clean. the rooms are nicely decorated, beds very very comfortable and was spacious for my family of 5... Bathroom was very clean and had everything we needed... I am beyond pleased with our stay and visit from Los Angeles. lastly we enjoyed Sunday breakfast downstairs in the lobby and was greeted with amazing customer service from Margarite, the food was delicious with lots to choose from and fully stocked.. I can't express how awesome of a stay we had and highly highly recommend this hotel for anyone reading this review and looking to visit... we will definitely always stay here when we come to visit family! read more

We stayed at Fairfield Inn and Suites in Folsom last week. The highlight of our stay was the buffet breakfast was under the direction of Margaret who receives high marks for her excellent performance, we found her pleasant, too. We assembled the hot oat meal, fresh fruit, nuts, granola, 50% reduce yogurt and de-caffeinated coffee for a healthy meal. And the hot quiche was flavorful, too. Margaret did all the duties, set up, food prep, bussing, replenishing food and beverage items, even table side service. She made waffles for those who's "make-your-own-waffles" skills left a mess on the counter top. Margaret was seen offering full table side service for a couple with limited mobility. We rate her an A+. read more

Extremely happy with our stay for two nights. The place and room were clean and Matt Willis assistance finding a place to eat that night. There are numerous places to eat in the area and a Starbucks almost across the street. The location is just off the freeway enough that you do not hear any noise from the freeway. It was nice to have numerous choices for a breakfast in the morning. Eggs, ham or make your own waffles. Along with cereal, several types of bread/muffins and oatmeal with all the toppings. My elderly father, brother and myself stayed at your Folsom location for 3 days/2 nights. Margaret in your dining room provided outstanding customer service during our stay. My father enjoyed the wheat bread that was served during breakfast. I inquired with Margaret about the bread's company. Unfortunately it was only available to institutions and hotels; however, Margaret provided as much info about the bread and even gave us a couple of slices to take home. Truly going above and beyond what was necessary. And she checked in on us during breakfast a number of times to make sure everything was going well. Margaret is a truly invaluable asset to your hotel! Margaret, thank you for creating such a warm and welcoming environment during breakfast. In addition to providing employee feedback, I will review the accessible hotel room that we used. We stayed in Room 235 which included two queen-sized beds, a microwave, refrigerator, and accessible bathroom with a low profile tub. The room had plenty of space for my father's transport chair/wheelchair in both the bedroom and bathroom. The bedroom had a study side chair with arm rests that was helpful for my elderly father, a movable side table and movable desk. The bathroom had plenty of grab bars around the toilet and bathtub, an integrated, sturdy shower seat, and a hand shower. The lighting in the bathroom was excellent and the light above the tub was helpful when I gave my father a shower. The entry into the bathroom was wide enough for a wheelchair and the floor transition was excellent. The bathroom had a standard height toilet. In terms of some feedback for improvements, my father is on the short side (about 5-5) and he had a difficult time getting into the bed because the mattress was too tall. In terms of the bathroom, the door was a little awkward to use with a wheelchair...maybe a sliding or barn door would make it easier. In addition, a higher profile toilet made for the elderly would be helpful. Overall the bathroom was really well designed; however, one glaring issue was the integrated shower bench which rested on the low profile bathtub. As I mentioned above, my father is short and he had a difficult time standing up from the shower bench. In fact he slipped while he was attempting to stand in the shower. A higher shower bench would be a nice addition. read more

We booked this hotel for the weekend to stay near Apple Hill in Placerville. Checking was fast a little too fast! I had to ask the girl at the front desk where the gym and pool was since she didn't mention any of those things. Otherwise everything was nice our room was nice, clean and spacious for our guest of 5. The complimentary breakfast was yummy they serve many options. The staff was friendly and attentive the only thing I wish was for the indoor pool to be heated and bigger! It was small and cold other than that we enjoyed our stay. read more

I came into Folsom,CA a few days ago to visit family & friends since I used to live in the area. The price for our stay was very affordable. The hotel is pristine. When you walk in.. it's like no person has stepped foot inside the hotel before. It's extremely clean & well taken care of. The staff was EXTREMELY friendly & so helpful! The hotel did include breakfast (great variety), has indoor pool, great gym equipment. They do clean hotel rooms every couple of days when staying with them but, my friends and I had requested to have our room be cleaned & they kindly did so. I'm extremely happy with our stay & I highly recommend!! I will definitely be coming back. read more

Good location right off the freeway, close to places to eat and visit. Don't plan on checking in early or even at check in time, they'll tell you to check in later even if you have things to do then after reminding them it was infact check in time they'll magically find a room. Visiting family and this was our first stay in Folsom. I could not have been happier. From the minute we checked in we were so happy. First, the check-in process literally took 2 minutes. It was late and we were tired and they were so great and had everything ready. The staff is so nice, and very good at their jobs!! Such great people. Second, the rooms were awesome and so comfortable, with great beds and amenities. It was very clean and had everything we needed. A big thing for me......water pressure, outstanding!! Finally, the area was great too as a Costco and many nice restaurants are in the area. They even had breakfast for us in this Covid time by letting us pick what we wanted and handing it to us in safely wrapped bags. This place was great and will be our "go to" in the future read more

Stayed here over the weekend while visiting family. We were greeted my the most friendly employee, and provided us a guest bag with water and treats (worth it to be rewards members). Our room was clean and contemporary. I really liked the shower, which had shelves for toiletries as well as a nice shower head. There was coffee, a microwave, and fridge in the room. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The breakfast area was nice and also had a nice outside seating area. The hotel is located within walking distance of a large outdoor shopping center with restaurants and upscale stores. I will definitely stay here again when I return to Folsom. read more

It's in a good location - walking distance to Starbucks, Whole Foods, and a large shopping plaza with several restaurants. The customer service here is great. They were all friendly and were able to accommodate my requests. The rooms were large, clean, and most importantly, very quiet. I didn't hear any noise at all. Parking is very easy and free. I was informed just yesterday that my reservation at the Fairfield Inn & Suites in Folsom was cancelled. I was told that they had overbooked because they used a reservation service (Hotels.com, part of the Expedia family). The only help that they offered was to call around to other hotels. Less than two weeks before the race. Here is the biggest problem: Other hotels released rooms that were cancelled a couple weeks prior to Fairfield contacting me. Fairfield should have known because they were asked to participate in that notification. Had they been organized and let me know during that period, I would have been in a better position to plan my race evening. I had originally booked Fairfield because it was recommended by California International Marathon as a sponsored hotel. I have already emailed the race organizers asking them to not use this hotel in the future. I am especially upset because this was a foreseeable problem. The hotel should have known that anyone trying to stay there was likely running the race. Now, I'm stuck trying to find a hotel room less than two weeks before my race with 8,000+ participants for the marathon alone. Not cool. Don't stay here. You cannot count on a reservation. Overall, in the cleanliness aspect, this place was great. Some areas for improvement are: we hated the fact that you needed to keep your key card in the little outlet to keep the lights on. This made middle of the night potty breaks pretty bad. Also, our AC kept clicking off and on while we were there. I'm thankful it wasn't during the summer or we would've melted.
