We stayed at the property for several weeks without major incident.When my son had a disability-related meltdown, staff came to our door to complain about the noise. Rather than attempting to work with us or discuss any reasonable accommodations, the hotel called the police. The following day, despite our having stayed there for weeks, they canceled our reservation and required us to leave. In addition to the way my disabled son was treated, a front desk employee made deeply offensive personal remarks to me, including telling me that I "look like a crackhead," along with other demeaning comments. No accountability no admittance of wrong and hot breakfast coukdnt be worse. I could go on. I just terminated my 90 day stay. All Larspur locations stayed at pleasanron, sunnyvale camoble very nice respectful staff this place just hate and attitude. Some are really nice the others must be family of owners. I booked a room through hotels.com. It's not obvious they charge $10 a night for parking. The room was fine. The lighting was strange where you can't dim the lamps to a lower setting. It's either full bright or nothing at all. The ceiling light flickered. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

Spent a couple nights here. **** The rooms are expected. **** The room kitchen was nice as well. **** Parking was ample and convenient. * The breakfast consisted of powdered eggs, meat, cereals, your typical cheap breakfast, which is fine. That was not the problem. The problem was that the breakfast service was constantly out of eggs and meat. Also, all the coffee was empty, not just regular blend, but all blends. I inquired with the front desk about the coffee to a young lady (who I never saw not on her phone). Her response was, "yeah", then went back to her phone. Shortly after, another person followed up with the front lady, me still standing there in disbelief of her response, that the decaf coffee was out. The young lady, scoffed at us, put her phone down in disgust and went to the back room. Seriously?! Hotel - 4 stars. Service and breakfast - zero stars. Re-creating a Gold Rush vacation from a number of years ago, we settled on this hotel to start our trip, conveniently located to the Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park and other sites. We were impressed by both the hotel and Folsom itself. We rented a Studio Suite and loved that it had a workable kitchen: full-size refrigerator, range with burners, sink, dishes, pots and utensils, and even a dishwasher. Kitchen facilities are great for saving money on the road. But often you need to stay in a rented home or condo ala Airbnb for a kitchen, and unless you're staying a whole week the cleaning fee overhead makes the nightly rate high. Here you get the kitchen without the cleaning fee! The Studio Suite has a queen bed and sleeps two; they also offer an Executive Suite for $25 more with a king bed that sleeps four to the room. The room was modern and spacious; we especially used the giant table/desk with two chairs for in-room meals. Conveniently a lot of nearby services are available. Several restaurants, a movie theater and more are all walking distance. I needed extra contact lens solution and found it a short drive away at a Target. Folsom has really expanded into a full-fledged Sacramento suburb since our last visit, so services abound. Larkspur Landing also has locations in nearby Sacramento, several Bay Area locations, and a few in Oregon and Washington. Nice place; we plan to check them out again. read more

Had to wait a few minutes for someone to show up at the front desk to help me. Both for check-in and especially for check-out. Why is the front desk so empty? Lol. I thought the front desk is a priority for hotels? The walk from the elevator to my room smelled bad. The TV did not work and the alarms weren't reset by staff so previous persons time woke me up. Oh, and I turned the kitchen faucet on and a nasty smell would come from it. The bed was very comfortable, solid 6/5. If the bed wasn't so good it would be a 1/5 stars. If the price per night is reduced by 50% then this hotel would be a 4/5 stars but they're charging more than they're worth compared to other hotels in the area. read more

HVAC system is terrible in the one-bedroom suite, with almost all the output going to the living room so bedroom is maybe 8-10 degrees hotter, and it wasn't even extremely hot while we were there. I can't imagine staying during the real heat of summer. We had to freeze in the living room to try to make the bedroom tolerable, and we had to sleep with the door open for at least part of the night which defeats the purpose of paying for a suite in order to have a second door to block some of the hallway noise (a lot of loud slamming doors). Also, breakfast was a hassle. Offerings were good for an extended continental breakfast, but it is weird that the "Mcmuffin" type sandwiches are only brought out when requested, and then only two at a time. And I was pleasantly surprised to see about 5-6 plain yogurts the second day so I could have one without all the added sugar, but after asking for the sandwiches, the lady brought out two sandwiches and took away the plain yogurts. I then went to the desk twice to ask for some and never did get any. And there's only one table, and 8 chairs in the former business center, and one toaster & one microwave meant waiting a lot. Both mornings they came out and locked the fridge and started cleaning up several minutes before the 9 a.m. end of breakfast time. I would think they'd give people a 5-15 minute grace period at least, and it was fairly crowded toward the end of breakfast time both days. And there was a lot of thumping and banging and loud door slamming from noisy guests nearby, continuing for 4-5 hours the first afternoon and evening. The second day after about 1.5-2 hours I talked to someone at the desk and she was able to track it down and stop it, although we had some again the next morning. Voices could be easily heard from next door, possibly through the bathroom vent. Also didn't like the faucets and shower with very low-flow and dispersed so it was hard to rinse. And no dish drying rack in the kitchen. Mattress was too firm for side-sleepers, more firm than I've encountered at a good hotel. I managed OK the first night but by the second night my hips hurt, waking me up every hour or so. I did appreciate the two-types of pillows so better chance of having one that works, but I don't understand why they fold the cases in--they always come out within a few minute so part of the pillow case that was folded against the unwashed pillows is now on the outside where I'm touching it. Extremely poor-quality toilet paper. Do they even save money since we have to use twice as much of it? Cleaning had been done well, and TV was easy to figure out and find channels. Wifi was pretty good, with just a couple of brief pauses. read more

WATCH YOUR CREDIT CARD!!!!!!!! These people are stealing from Card Holders!!!! Once they get your Card, they have a field day!!! I experienced MULTIPLE Credit Card charges to my Bank Account during a recent 2 day stay, that were unauthorized, exorbitant, random and inexplicable!!! I felt confident one call to the Hotel Manager would quickly resolve the issue. Wow was I surprised and dismayed when I was told in NO uncertain terms would she, (DAWN the alleged Hotel Manager), Credit back the unauthorized Charge! The remaining unauthorized, random charges of $100, and $235.10 thankfully were blocked by my Bank. They thankfully flagged my Account after noting this Hotel was racking up multiple hefty charges on my Account inside of 2 days. I paid for my second night through Expedia. Told the front desk clerk I was paying through Expedia. Despite this, the Hotel charged me anyway. Never alerted me they were doing so. I never signed a document with them for a second night. To this day I have paid two entities for the same night. Shameful business practices is an understatement!!!! I am an elderly widow on a fixed income. So every dollar counts. I posted so that any other potential unsuspecting prey who potentially wants to book with them, might avoid the financial drain and disaster I had to experience!!!! read more

In comparison to some of their competitors, I'd have to say that Larkspur Landing has much better accommodations here in California. When looking to travel and still have an option to cook your own meals, I would highly recommend them. The staff is very friendly and accommodating: everyine from the front desk to the housekeeping crew have been very helpful. I had some packages delivered for my grandson's birthday and they let me know when the final package arrived. There is a continental breakfast served each morning for those who are interested, and they offer coffee, tea, hot chocolate and water around the clock. There is a business center as well as a fitness facility. The fitness room has just enough equipment to get a full body workout in and all of the equipment is in great condition. The room itself has been very nice, as well. Mini living room with a desk/work area (for laptop and electronics). I was able to meal prep and even make homemade potato salad for my grandson's birthday party. There are dual sinks in the bathroom (for those who need that)...for me it was extra space for all of my toiletries and makeup. There also a basic bathtub that came in handy to soak after a long day. The bedroom has a comfy queen sized bed and large LG TV, where I binged out on watching Food Network and a couple of other channels. Plenty of closet space Last little mention is that they don't charge extra for you to use the laundry facility, so if you're on a budget, that's a plus. If not, they offer laundry services. This location is close to many cool shopping centers (Folsom Outlets are across the street), the Century Theater is in the same parking lot, you've got the Folsom Lake close by, as well as river access super close! I always came back because of Dana- very professional and kind, makes you feel welcome, but the other front desk staff aren't the of the same caliber. Quite rude and unaccommodating. Do not stay here. The entire downstairs, where pets can stay, smelled overwhelmingly of animal urine. The carpet leading to the rooms was buckled and clearly had not been cleaned in a while. I'm not sure why the owners thought carpet was a good idea. I've been to dog parks that smell bette--even the Folsom pet hotel. I was literally gagging. Our room so bad; we brought our pup and had to stay in the pet room which was awful. The smell was so terrible it was hard to sleep. In hindsight, we would have been more comfortable sleeping our car. I'm giving this a second star just because the gal working the front desk, Sabrina, was very kind. She tried her best to accommodate us even thought there wasn't much in her control. Greetings - 3rd time staying at this hotel and up until now, I would have rated it as a 5- Star. The property is gorgeous, the rooms and amenities are above par and the safety & cleanliness are top tier. Not a Ritz-Carlton, but an above average choice for the cost, etc. Unfortunately in the service industry, people can be fickle (even me it appears). The day started off well and I had a nice continental breakfast in the lounge. I then asked the counter attendant (Natasha Kucherova) for a late checkout because my adult son, who is wheelchair- bound was needing some extra time to get ready - she begrudgingly agreed to a 1/2 hour extension (12:30 pm instead of 12:00 pm). A few minutes later I returned to my room to start packing to leave but my key no longer worked and I had to go back downstairs (10:00 am) to the lobby to rectify the issue. As expected, I was asked to show my ID to prove I was who I said I was but my ID was still in my room. After that I answered a litany of questions to prove my identification but Natasha wasn't satisfied after not knowing the zip code of my info. on file from the booking.com website. Even though the P.o. box & city were correct. Without going into more detail, the tension grew and she was determined to let me know was Boss...her!!! i left feeling like my elder age of 64 made me dumb and That I couldn't be trusted. Unfortunately, I still needed to enter my room. Since this became a standoff, I suggested that she or someone else escort me to the room and I would gladly present the proper ID. It's too bad that she didn't have the wherewithal, attitude or training to present this or another solution but here we were. Anyway, that's what happened and after showing her my ID, she reneged in the later checkout in spite. She also told me that if I didn't leave by then, she'd call the Folsom police.... Very weird. This was our second time staying here and it's always been a pleasure but this time was special experience. We were able to check in early and I appreciate that so much. I did used the gym which was nice and quite and fully functional. The star of the show is their breakfast, it was continental buffet style but my kids were just so happy with cereal choices they had. There were mostly all kinds of breads and spreads/ juice/ yogurt etc. they have complimentary water and coffee with hot Chocolate at the front desk which is so nice and welcoming. I want to acknowledge two very special people Alan and Olga cause they saved this mommy's day. I left was purse in a chair during breakfast and didn't realized it until I got a call from Alan. I was so close to loosing my mind but that never happened. I am gonna take it as a a lesson to always remember taking everything with me. Olga, a very nice lady found it while she was cleaning the room and Alan gave me a courtesy call. God bless you guys! The only negative was at the morning breakfast where the circuit breaker kept tripping basically ruining any kind of breakfast experience where cooking was required. Where do I even begin with my review! Between this hotel and Expedia they contributed to our vacation not being good. Expedia showed this hotel 9.2 miles from where our friend's party was. I had my bf Google where it was he said ten minutes. I drove to larkspur hotel in Roseville and turns out we booked for the larkspur landing hotel in Folsom over 16'miles away from our friend's party. At first I tried to see if they would just switch hotels but was told there was no rooms at all. Upset I contacted Expedia who stated the hotels are responsible for putting how far away they are. So I called larkspur landing in Folsom and explained what happened and they only offered to cancel my reservation so I could just eat the $175 we paid. So we drove over to larkspur landing in Folsom a half an hour away from our party and hurried up and changed and drove back to the party and then exhausted afterwards drove back to larkspur landing in Folsom. The room wasn't bad, unlike other complaints the bed was actually very comfortable and the place wasn't too dirty. The nightmare started around 12am when we were abruptly awoken by what sounded like the people upstairs were banging a big chair on the floor and dragging it. Confused we listened as it happened intermittently every 7-10 mins for the next HOUR. Then we heard what sounded like a motorcycle revving then the chair pounding every 7-10 minutes. I looked outside to try and find the motorcycle and saw NOTHING outside our window. I then contacted the front desk who seemed concerned but had no answers for us. I called again after we realized it was the loud pipes in the wall doing this crazy crazy noise and was told they would make a note of the noise and have someone contact us and take a portion of our bill off. It went on until 6am every ten mins. It was the closest thing to sleep deprivation hell I almost slept in the hallway it was so bad. When I went to tell the gentlemen at the front desk about it he said-stop yelling at me! - which was humorous because I was NOT yelling. I then explained what we went through and even though he was apologetic we have heard NOTHING from anyone about any refunds or anything whatsoever. I honestly think the hotel knows this room is loud and noisy and was probably punishing me for being upset that I got a hotel that was ridiculously far from our party. USUALLY Expedia shows farther away hotels at the bottom of the list and it says these ones are farther away but this one was listed as the top five and NO ONE REALLY GIVES A CRAP ANYMORE ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE. Expedia blamed Larkspur hotel and the Larkspur Hotel blamed Expedia and they both blamed me because I didn't pay extra and got the non refundable room. Generally if you're driving to a hotel to stay in it, you wouldn't need a refund for anything. I have stayed at both the Sacramento and Folsom locations of this hotel during two different offsite trainings for my company. I personally feel that this location is far better than the Sacramento one. For one, they've got better food selections for their complimentary breakfast. They had hard boiled eggs, savory and not only sweet pastries (such as spinach and cheese croissants which are my favorite), oatmeal, tons of canned juices/milk, yogurt, fruits, coffee/tea, and cereal. At the Sacramento one, I actually had brought a box of cereal from home and thought they'd have milk at breakfast but nope. Glad this one had milk available! The bathroom also has better ventilation even though I don't think the vent was working. The fitness room had more machines too! There was tons of parking and you didn't have to compete with the restaurants/local shops nearby. The check-in/check-out process was easy. They slipped my itemized receipt under my door before I had to check out which I thought was great. They had everything I needed and more in my hotel room. I had an option to choose a room on any floor and I chose the first floor because I didn't wanna walk flights of stairs or hop on an elevator to lug all my things with me! I'm lazy, I know. But if I were to come again, I'd probably choose a room on the second floor just because it's a bit creepy to open your curtains and you see the parking lot and everyone right out your window. The amenities were all there. They had plenty of towels, toiletries, a fully stocked kitchen (seriously they had pots, pans, kitchenware, etc - no food though lol!), WiFi (which was kinda slow at times), tv, air conditioning/heater, and an iron/ironing board. They had a full body mirror too! The bed was SO soft. It was like sleeping on a marshmallow.. I was literally sinking in it! I would definitely recommend staying here! As I used my key, she cut in front of me, entered the room then pushed the door closed on me as I was trying to open it. Her maidcart was inside our room. She seemed to not understand English (I think most staff there is Russian). Pushing the door in my face was a bit rude but she vacated and we settled in to find the HVAC didn't work (was not cooling). I noticed the 2 filters were filthy (could not see light through them!) so I cleaned/rinsed them out and reinstalled. Now, finally we had airflow but it wasn't cooling (unit probably died from overheating because filters couldn't pass any air and overheated unit, but I digress!) Went to front desk about HVAC only to find out maintenance had just left minutes earlier. Front desk was very nice about it, offered us a fan. A few minutes waiting and one of the front desk staff advised me the maintenance guy was turning around and coming back to deal with our issue! Wow...pleasantly surprised. About an hour later, "Vlad" (I think short for Vladimir) showed up at the room. He confirmed our unit was dead and left, returning with another HVAC unit on a rolling cart. 30 minutes later Vlad had removed the old unit, installed the new one and the room was cooling off! Good team effort of front desk and Vlad. Vlad had a choice when the phone rang. Afterall he was heading home after working all day! He could've let it go to voicemail, not answered or simply said he was unable to return. He chose to come back and fix the issue. We appreciate his efforts. Room (King bed suite) was functional and relatively clean although the room could benefit from periodic deep cleaning (carpet felt dirty to the feet, as an example). Breakfast consisted of bagels, pastries, cereals, fruits and juices, hard-boiled eggs and an automatic pancake machine that cranked out fluffy pancakes. The 2nd morning, we were abruptly awoken to the sound of a gas-powered leaf blower right outside our window. The leaf blower gave way to the even louder power washing machine that was being used to clean the stip of businesses adjacent to the hotel. Who does something so idiotic as to make noise right outside the bedroom windows of a hotel at 6am on a holiday morning (Memorial Day)?!! To be clear: This was NOT hotel staff, rather the neighboring property but it still woke us up so I was a bit cranky about that. I would say front desk and maintenance was great, maidstaff not so much. Breakfast selection was "ok" but would've loved to see some eggs, breakfast sausage or whatever. Location was ideal for our planned activities. There is also a movie theater almost next door to the hotel as well as a 76 gas station and a number of small eating establishments and boutique stores. The hotel is adjacent to (across the street) a number of outlet stores (my wife liked that aspect). Easy freeway access from the Folsom exit off highway 50. Overall I would've given 5 stars but the maid issues, room maintenace issue, the 6am wake up call and the "just ok" breakfast options earns this spot four stars. read more

Instead, I found the front desk staff not wearing masks, and several guests, also not wearing masks. Completely unacceptable in today's circumstances. Great, hospitable, and comfortable place to stay. The staff were very accommodating. I was originally booked at a cheaper place in rancho Cordova and through a set of unfortunate circumstances (bugs) I needed to desperately change hotels. I called around and finally was able to find a place that would take me at 1:00 am. I was very tired by this point and was able to relax and unpack and sleep. I slept like a baby and would not hesitate to book there again. read more
