What I like about this Inn. Location Location, Location. There are 10 restaurants within walking distance of the hotel in the Historic Folsom District. You wouldn't have to worry where to park as you would park in the hotel parking lot which is super close to the restaurants. There is a bar and restaurant in the hotel. the bar summer hours are limited. See pics section. I liked that this hotel is a partner location for my airline miles which was the main reasons I chose the location. The room has a simple coffee maker and microwave. Parking is included with stay and you need a dash pass for your car to not get towed, you receive this at check in. This Inn has been around for a long time and has some great features like it has been used for conferences and weddings. A separate Wedding office is on site. It has a small pool and a hot tub. On the other hand there some aspects of this hotel that are less than appealing. The bed could use a refresher, the A/C in my room was blocked by the couch at least 25%. The faucet in the bathroom worked poorly. I heard the adjacent bathroom shower in my room which was a little unnerving. The carpet felt "squishy" which made me hesitant to walk barefoot. The child proof outlets led to being adult proof outlets which was very frustrating especially when plugging in phone chargers, etc. read more

Unbelievable. The room had no chair to sit in. The beds were so low on wooden slats like a futon on the floor. If you are a senior or are disabled don't even bother, the room is the safety hazard all around. We couldn't even reach the lights to turn them off while you're in bed because is so low to the floor, and very challenging to get up. The coffee maker was in the bathroom, the carpet smelled, no art in the room and the AC unit sounded like a plane landing all night off and on off and on. The bed was pushed against a plug that controlled lights over the bed and they were constantly flashing and blinking because the plug is not all the way in and it's behind the bed headboard. Utterly insane. Very very disappointed overall, it was an uncomfortable night, no restaurant was open and no breakfast buffet as advertised. Everything we went for was not there. read more

A convenient option bc of our immediate needs. Walls were super thin unfortunately as we had neighbors despite my wife's request of quiet room. Free Parking was super close but elevators were slow at times. Probably due to kids playing with the elevator buttons. It was nice to have refrigerator, microwave and coffeemaker as well as a safe too. My wife read previous reviews & prayed we didn't have those problems! Well we didn't stay too long anyway. Rooms could be updated especially new carpets would be a plus as ours had a stain on it. We just may return down the line despite no free breakfast. They do have Karen's bakery restaurant within walking distance. Btw they had a wedding event going on the weekend night we were there! I read the reviews before booking here which aren't very good but I was hoping for the best, no such luck. As others have stated the hotel is extremely noisy. Doors slamming constantly, extremely loud noise coming from the wall (HVAC system or something) that would start and stop throughout the night. Nasty carpet that is squishy when you walk on it, leaking faucets, etc. Very outdated!! When I made my reservation I asked about a room with a view and was told for $20 more I'd have a lake view. You can't see the lake from the room I was given and I'm pretty sure you wouldn't be able to see it from any room. The only thing in my opinion that this hotel has going for it is the location. It's right next to downtown Folsom and a lot of restaurants. If your a person that can sleep through loud noises then it might be ok but if your not then I would look elsewhere. read more

We stayed here because we attended a wedding at this place. Check in is a little late at 4pm. The check in was easy and a fast process. We went to the room I don't know why we got a handicap room. The room itself is okay but I feel it was a be little pricey. The shower was not that great since it was for handicap the shower head kept falling from the clip so I was very annoyed and uncomfortable. The bed itself was okay. The breakfast was not included. There is a coffee shop in the same parking lot and you can walk to a trail behind the parking lot. The bars and restaurants are one block away. So location is great you won't have to pay an Uber but my room was $200 so it would be put to personal preference. read more

Price was a bit expensive. Could hear the person above or beside us flush their toilet. Super loud. Even tho we were on the 3rd floor we became level to the street and couple hear all the clubs and bars. We couldn't keep our window cracked. The window was super dirty outside, we couldn't figure out how the marks got there. Our toilet was so damn loud to flush too. The beds were okay. Clean. I just.... Expected more. We had a reservation. The room we were given smelled like cat pee. The front desk initially told us we could leave for a full refund but there were no more rooms available. It was graduation weekend and there were no other options. A maintenance guy came to the room, agreed that the smell was awful, and they found a new room for us. We stay here every year for conference. I love it here! The parking is free. It's a short walk to Sutter Street which has many options for food, shopping and entertainment. The food they provided for Conference was delicious. I think that their coffee is horrible. I usually go to Karen's Bakery in the morning to get a cup of coffee and either a danish or avocado toast. The hotel has a swimming pool, and a hot tub. The rooms are comfortable. My only complaint is they hold $250 for incidentals which I feel is a large amount. We love the bartender, and he remembered us from last year. I don't know if that is good or bad. He makes good drinks, and he is very friendly. Located right on the American River Walking trail, it has a lovely restaurant and bar (Justin the bartender is awesome, and his Manhattans are amazing), clean comfortable rooms with working windows, and is a convenient walk to Historic Downtown Folsom. Stayed here for two nights and had an okay experience. They market themselves as a nice property; I find it a little dated and the rooms and hallway have a musty smell. I immediately opened the window upon getting to my room and left it open for the duration of my stay. Walls are thin and you can hear people coughing and talking next door. Very basic amenities in the bathroom. Has soap, shampoo, hand lotion, conditioner, a hair tie and shower cap. Location is good if you want to be closer to historic Folsom. read more

Beautiful location. Our room was spacious but the bed & pillows are extremely uncomfortable. The front desk staff were extremely attentive but in order to get the maid service, you had to book a stay of 3 days or more. Not a fan of that policy. Finally, the main reason for my 5 star review is due to the delicious food & exceptional service we received from our waiter, KAO at the Lake Natoma Inn Bar & Grill. We had started our day with breakfast here and so glad we did. KAO was so delightful; he was so attentive and handled the intense pressure of the busy dining room with grace and kindness. He did all this with no other wait staff. I have worked in the customer service industry for 45 years and KAO is a top notch individual who knows how to provide quality customer service. The location is good but it ends there. The hall (4th floor) smells of rotten milk as soon as you get off the elevator. They do not offer house keeping until you have stayed 3 nights! Apparently 'since COVID'... this is mid-2024. This level of service is not consistent with a hotel room charging $400+/night! I travel 2-3 nights a week in hotels and rooms are on par with $100 a night motels. The suite was somewhat spacious, with a tub on the middle of the bedroom (hello 1985). Photos make it look a lot better than the rather awkward reality that it is. There is a fireplace but you get a starter log and no wood... and of course only on the first night because no one comes to your room for 2 more nights! The rooms are tired, the pull out couch mattress could not be more uncomfortable. Again, 1 star deserved for location to what is a cute little town. read more

Lake Natoma Inn is the perfect location if you have a bunch of kids and a night to escape with a grandparent watching the little ones. We got a Suite for our wedding night, and it was affordable and perfect a few years ago. We just stayed the night for our anniversary, and it was so much fun. It is not the best hotel you can stay at, but it is perfect for what it is. The rooms are clean, the staff is friendly, and the location is ideal for a quick getaway. You can walk to Sutter Street or the water in 10 minutes and it feels like you are in another world. It is definitely worth it and I do know they give government discounts if you happen to be working in the area during the week. read more

I have fond memories of staying here several years back and looked forward to a second visit. This 4 rating is a disappointment because with a few tweaks this could have been as good or better than the Kimton property downtown. What is great: The grounds are beautiful. The service is good. The room is comfortable and I found it to be clean enough. Wide hallways and mostly quiet. (see doors below) The location is amazing if you want to be in Old Town Folsom. The TV is awkwardly large and easy to use. What is not so great: Rooms are a bit dated. The doors slam like it is Folsom Prison not an inn. The restaurant was closed 2 times for staffing shortages. The Covid excuse for not having housekeeping is getting old. Even if this is a good reason not to provide "service" then have the rooms should be stocked so that you don't need to go find the housekeepers and have a face to face encounter just to have a second towel or a second cup of coffee on a 2 night stay. The last observation is one of personal preference, but they squeezed every last inch of the parking lot and there is not enough room for cars to park, load and unload, and not ding the other cars in the lot. read more

I needed to use up a free night on my hotels.com account and Friday 8/23 was the last day. After much debate about going to San Jose, Tahoe, Reno etc I decided not to drive so far and fight traffic so that it would be a fun overnight trip by myself. I wanted to go near a lake or river so I chose Lake Natoma Inn due to it's proximity to the lake. It was both right next to Lake Natoma and historic Folsom. This way I could just two-foot it around and leave the car parked. I arrived around 4pm after heavy traffic on Elkhorn and Greenback all the way there. It took nearly 50+minutes to go 20 miles. I parked about 10 cars from the entrance. A nice male clerk checked me in kindly and answered any ?s I had. There were a bunch of peeps chit-chatting and semi blocking registration area. I asked and the clerk said there was a wedding this weekend. I later found out that this hotel has weddings all the time by reading past Yelp reviews. I got up to my room on the 4th floor after very tight area to wait for the elevator both down in the lobby and room floor. You can barely fit 1 person in front of the elevators waiting. Yes. That small. The halls were quite clean. I got in my room. The rooms show many signs of looking dated and they just slapped some moderninity over it. Doors looked old. Walls, bathroom, other things. The good was a mini fridge (not cold and did not work), microwave (Did not use), tiny coffeemaker (did not use), LG tv with around 70 channels including paid ones, firm bed (excellent-no sinking), pillows yet soft but a bit flat (I got a neck headache from it). Sofa and desk in the room. Wifi sucked ass and did not work or at super slow mbps speed. I went on out and walked up the entry ramp to historic Folsom. Right there at very busy Riley St. was the spot I Yelped over 5 other Happy Hour spots, Chicago Fire. Read my separate review on them. Later after eating I walked historic areas for a bit and took some pics. I walked back near the hotel after and took the trail at the side of the Inn. It takes you up to the bridge into Folsom and it takes you through a walking trail near the lake and connects to a jogging and bike trail. I took only the walking trail at sunset and it was beautiful. After about 90 minutes of walking, taking pics and seeing nature on a 100 degree day, I headed back to my room soaked in sweat. I stopped at the desk to ask info on where to rent kayaks and the bit and the lady at the desk working the night shift was pleasant and helpful. I also checked out the cafe and the bartender there asked if I needed a menu. Enjoyable exercise and to get away from the "other" life we are so used to. I took a nice cold shower and the pressure was good. I woke up around 10am and checked out prior to 11am checkout and the gal working checked me out and wished me safe travels. In relation to the negative reviews I read, even with a wedding I never heard them. No loud music on my floor. No rude staff. No bike events locking us down from going out. Yes, the walls are thin and you can hear slams and other rooms, yes the place is old and can do a better good to hide it. One negative is a notice saying the pool was closed off due to the wedding. This impedes on the ability of other paying guests to use the entire facility of amenities listed on the booking page. I did not get to see the pool nor the fire pit seating outside. I recognized that I stayed here years ago as I recognize the view from the room. Last time we also got a parking lot room view. Lol! The staff was all nice to me. The bed was comfy. Room was ok. Nicer if the fridge worked as I had a bunch of drinks that I could not cool. Only to get ice to enjoy them. Dated but very tolerable. The best thing is the Inn's location. Right next to the lake and historic Folsom and trails. Location cannot be beat. I had a pleasurable and memorable stay for one! read more

I've always loved staying at this hotel. The proximity to the food and shops in Folsom makes it very enjoyable. However on this trip not only has our shower failed to work, it required maintenance, and the toilet needed jiggling, which I thought was a thing from the 80s, the service at the front desk at the time of our checkout was horrible. I needed to go back in to use the restroom in the lobby and the gentleman at the counter would not let me in until he verified my reservations for the last two evenings while I urgently needed to use the facilities (I'm a 50+ woman... say no more). I was told several times to calm down, wait, let me verify... I had two rooms for two night. In the meantime my husband and daughter went right in and used the facilities. read more

We stayed Sunday & Monday, June 26-27th.Reasonable rates.We got a king with sofa and also booked a double queen for my daughter & her friend.Our room 324 had nice view of firepits and trees.The other room 325 just had view of parking lot. We enjoyed walking down to Socialogy for coffee and so nice it's next to American River Trail. We heard people above us on 4th floor and a guy yelling on phone early next morning on his zoom call lol.Other than that I thought it was pretty quiet. We got smoked out last night and found security to check it out.Apparently someone burnt popcorn in micro. The next morning the alarm was blaring because the elevator wasn't working.This hotel is run down but my husband thought he saw a sign they're in process of fixing it up FYI pool and hot tub open from 9:45am-9:45pm We found the woman that checked us very friendly, everyone that worked there was super nice and helpful! read more

Unbelievable, I called tonight to make a reservation for our 20th wedding anniversary in the suite! We actually stayed there on our Honeymoon 20 years ago and issues that nothing worked in the Suite. Tonight 8/22/2023 @8:45pm, the young lady told me, I should find another place since we had so many issues before, she told me that the rooms had been renovated 2 months ago, and I said ok I would like to stop by and check it out, and HUNG up on me!! I called back and she hung up on me 5 times. I live in EDH and wanted to stay/support our local business/hotel for our 20th. Not sure who owns/manages this place, I would never ever recommend this place. First of all, it is not professional to hang up on anyone one, you never know who their locals are. read more

Walking into the lobby the hotel looks great. Then it's all downhill from there. The halls are covered in stained carpet as well as the room. Very dim lighting in the rooms. My room smelled like cigarettes so I opened the window and went out for dinner and returned back the the hotel late. I notified the front desk the following day and was told I was liable for the smell because I did not report it upon checking in the first night. The hotel places a 250$ pending charge on your credit card. Plus the cost of the room so I was nervous I would not get my money back. However I was not charged for the terrible smell. When I returned home I noticed my air pods were missing. Not sure if they were stolen from my room during my stay or I left them in my room when I checked out. Regardless they are gone. We just finished a 7 night stay. Upon arrival we were informed that the pool and spa were out of service until July 1. With the temperatures in the 90's we were more than a little miffed that the pool was unavailable because of maintenance. During my week there, the pool and spa were filled and appeared normal for use. We also never saw one person working on the pool or the pool building. Because we stayed 7 nights we were given breakfast chits for free breakfasts. We went once and had a decent breakfast for a hotel. When we tried to go a second time we were told if the Buffet Breakfast was being served we could only get the Buffet. So we were only comped for one breakfast unless we ate the Buffet. At the cost of a 7 night stay I thought it was pretty petty. The room was fine, just a little dated. I will be looking for different accommodations when traveling to the Sacramento Area in the future. The 2 stars are more than generous! read more

I have been familiar and attended events at the Lake Natoma Inn for decades. In the Fall of 2018, I hosted my daughters wedding there and the photos of her wedding were featured in Real Weddings magazine and one was actually used as the ad for Lake Natoma Inn. The Director of Weddings, Erin, was awesome and we could not have been happier. I had never been disappointed by the staff until my bride and I decided to elope there on Leap Day. Our experience there and specifically with the front desk manager, Aaron, was the only flaw in an otherwise perfect night. I booked the wrong room and it wasn't caught by the front desk agent when I called to check when my suite would be ready. I now know that there are spa suites that are 600 square feet(the one I thought that I booked) and spa rooms that are 300 square feet(the one I got). The pictures on the website look exactly the same and nothing in the title distinguishes them apart. The only clue to the difference is the square footage of the room. Our room was a crowded dark hole and cost $280. I returned to the front desk immediately after checking in to straighten out the problem (90 minutes before my own wedding) and instead of hospitality, concern, sympathy, professionalism or even a shred of customer service, I got Aaron. I sent the following letter to his General Manager two days later and she hasn't bothered to respond. Bottom line...Lake Natoma Inn is a great place to host your wedding, as long as Erin is there, but you and your guests should stay elsewhere if you can. If you love the smell of urine, than the third floor of this hotel is for YOU! The exterior of this hotel looks great. The interior really needs to be updated. As we entered the third floor, our noses were immediately pummeled by the stench of urine. Once that happened, it was hard to overcome. And then your mind just evaluates the cleanliness of the place throughout. ALL of the carpets in the hallways and rooms should be torn out. The room was mediocre. The booking was for 2 Queens but we have a queen bed at home and I'm sure these beds were double beds. Hotel staff was courteous. Location was great but it was pretty noisy from the local bars (since we had to keep our window open due to the odor). read more
