Simple hotel in Amarillo. The breakfast was very good. Food was ready right on time slightly before 6am. They are currently renovating, but other than a little mess, it didn't take away from the stay.

4 stars because the comfy bed, affordable price and free parking is perfect when driving cross country. If you're looking for a hotel to enjoy while traveling, this isn't the place. It is practical. - They have a refrigerator and a microwave. - An office desk. - A nice flatscreen TV with Netflix - Did I say comfy bed with nice quality sheets, comforter, and great soft pillows? - AC/Heat and AC works well didn't try heat - windows that open BUT no screen so keep the sheer curtains closed to prevent the bugs from coming in if the window is open overnight for example. If you're on the first floor probably not safe to have the window open and unattended or at night as the back of the building is dark and not populated and easy to access by random people walking alongside the building. That said this area is not one of concern generally - parking is free and there's plenty of it - lots of food options nearby, great location - very nice employee at the front desk - there's a pool but I didn't use it. It's indoor and small but if you need some exercise could be practical. I booked this because everything else was sold out and would come back if I just needed a place to crash overnight or was on a strictly budgeted type trip.

Had a great nights rest. Everything you want and need in an overnight. Super friendly and welcoming staff. Nice breakfast. Great coffee. Clean rooms that are fresh and updated. Really appreciate the sanitized tv remote. Check out the nearby trail for a peaceful walk to start your day. Great value too!

I really wanted to give this place a three star and recommend a stay, but the wonkiness just wouldn't stop. I would likely stay again in the hopes that it was just a one off experience. Here's the melt downs for us: - We waited 15 minutes for someone to appear at the checkout counter. I timed it. I've actually never gone to a hotel where someone wasn't there it close by when the door opened. - The elevators are crazy slow. Maybe the cleaning crew had it locked. One of our peeps eventually hit the stairs. - In the middle of the night it sounded like my door opened. I bolted awake and checked the door. It happened two more times electrifying me awake. In the morning I found out that whenever the AC turned off some valve would squeak shut like a door closing. - There was a used / opened soap and shamooo in the shower. - Someone duct tapped the smoke alarm light and two other LEDs in the room. Grateful for the previous person who did that but depressed that some designer is clueless about the impact of those LED power lights on sleepers. - Big rust stain behind toilet from some long running drip from something metal. I hope. - Every 30 minutes or so the TV would blank. It would take ~5 minutes if turning it off and in before it would resume. Maybe the rain was shorting something out. Too much wonkiness for a well run or repaired operation.

Disappointed hotel not following highly publicized Covid protocol. Checked in and TV not working- looked behind TV cabinet to see if it was plugged in and saw old trash behind it (photo ). Looked in refrigerator and found last guest food still inside this high touch area ! Disgusting. Moved into another after personally cleaning everything my self. Obviously they don't follow minimal critical safety standards as advertised.

My hubby and I usually stay at the Hilton Garden Inn when we travel or a Marriott. Because the HGI down the road is not the cleanest of hotels, and because our family was staying at the Fairfield, we booked a room for two nights. The staff was friendly enough and the rooms were clean enough. The only issue I had was in the bathroom, where the grout in the shower looked moldy. I did find it odd that the maid left a note about how she was unable to make our beds because she couldn't touch our personal belongings. This was the first time someone had said that. I completely understand and I respect the fact that they respect our belongings, but I have never encountered this in a hotel before. The breakfast was a plain jane buffett with the highlight being a Belgium waffle maker that made four small waffles at a time. I like to slather mine with peanut butter ;) For Amarillo, this a a decent hotel. But for a Marriott, it is definitely on the lower end of what the brand normally delivers.

Aside from the hospitality, I am guessing the kickback hour is a big draw as well. They are also pet friendly. We were on a roadtrip to Colorado and decided to spend the night on our way back. There were 2 tour buses when we arrived and it looked like we just missed the crowd at check-in. The front desk folks were an epitome of Texas hospitality. Friendly, laid back and the ladies just made us feel so welcome. We were given 3 drink coupons each for kickback hour. Our 2 queen room on the 2nd floor didn't have much of a view but it was homey and quiet. Kickback hour was busy but staff were surprisingly very accommodating. Their margaritas will give you a buzz. They have hot food items, soup and a salad for the complimentary light dinner. For those that have not stayed at a Drury Inn before, the kickback hour is similar to Embassy Suites' evening reception, but WAY better. We slept surprisingly well, considering the hotel's proximity to the highway. We had no problems with the ac either. Breakfast was better than your typical hotel breakfast with a bunch of options. We did not get to use the other facilities because we had to head out early. This was our first time staying at a Drury property. I'm normally a Hilton and Marriott girl but I'll definitely choose Drury if there is one available in my future destinations. We also appreciate the military discount they offer. Thanks for a memorable stay!

One of the biggest issues was the lack of consistent air conditioning throughout the building, which made common areas feel uncomfortable at times. I also found the terrace layout inconvenient since there are no stairs providing direct access, making it less practical than expected. Unfortunately, the room had a funky odor when I arrived that never completely went away during my stay. While the staff was courteous and the location was convenient, the overall experience didn't match the quality I expected. With some renovations and improved upkeep, this hotel could be a much better place to stay.

I am the single mom who brought her kids here to share the Mesquite room on October 9-10, 2022. This bed and breakfast is located in a somewhat remote area of Amarillo, Texas. The surrounding landscape is a bit reminiscent of Palo Duro Canyon - which is just a short drive away - but not in an extreme way that the Lone Star state park yields. The view from the hot tub at 7:30PM was amazing with a glorious display of sunset colors. Robes were provided behind the bathroom door. Near the pond on the old red, white, and blue amusement park ride chair, we found a walking stick. A friendly orange Tabby cat kept returning to our front door. My 8 and 9-year-old couldn't resist petting the stray feline. We weren't crazy about the continental breakfast which comprised of a cherry turnover, Yoplait yogurt, and Tropicana apple juice so we'll pass on that if we don't stay on a morning when they offer a hot meal. Just a couple of other cons: I leave to pick up pizza in town and someone takes my spot in front of our door. Lol. Also, my stupid Sprint/T-mobile coverage was terrible here. The other accomodations definitely overrode the somewhat lacking Monday morning breakfast: quiet neighborhood, calm weather, microwave, mini fridge, iron & board, lots of programs on the TV, free Wi-Fi, walk-in shower, and private gated area with code access.

We stayed in the Pinion. The positives. It's remote and really close to Palo Duro Canyon (18 minutes) That was nice. It's about 12 minutes from the Big Texan. It's in a pretty setting. The bed was comfy. We stay at B&B's because there is a level of expectation where hospitality takes over and you feel like you were being treated like royalty. This is not that place. It almost felt like our stay was a little bit of an inconvenience. The room is small and very dated, but covered in wood plank and not very clean. A lot of dust. This particular room did not have a shower and only a bath tub with the hot water trickles out. I'm not joking. It took about 30 minutes to fill the bathtub. Tip 1. Make sure to ask if the room you are booking has a shower if you're needing a shower for medical reasons or handicap accessibility. According to one of the reviews, and in their pictures, there appeared to be a nice shower in the mesquite, but we weren't given the chance to stay there. Once you get in the room, you're given two towels for the bath and two towels for the hot tub. I uncovered the hot tub to see that the water was very cloudy and it wasn't a result of the bubbles. So I put the cover right back on. They don't give you anything with respect to toiletries when it comes to soap or shampoo or lotions or bath bomb. So it really does feel like you're not being pampered. Bed And Breakfast should always feel like you're being pampered. And inside the room, you're not giving any type of bottled water, filtered water and so you rely on the bathroom sink in the bathroom tub. Which I thought was really bad. The outside of the room was covered in Pineneedles on the walkway, and so we tracked some into a room. When we were trying to get into the door, some even to get into the wheels of our suitcase. It was kind of annoying. The area is just really dated and not well kept. However, that does give it a very rustic feel and so if you're into that kind of thing that it may suit your fancy. It does have a really cute cat that keeps you company in the random deer that you will see from time to time. Overall, I'm sure it meets the needs of a specific clientele that would enjoy that atmosphere but when I go to a bed-and-breakfast, I consider myself to be high maintenance. So they certainly could meet the need a specific individuals however, it's not a place that I would really return to .
