This hotel was a good location but they nickel and dime you. Booking a room that sleeps 6 according to their own website and charging money for more than 3 people is not right. Especially since the hotel wasn't a deal to start with. The carpet was old and torn up, the water wouldn't turn hot, and the towels were thin and worn. This is a really nice place and it is pretty modern. We stayed here 4 years ago when they had newly opened. We found this place to be very inviting, modern, and stylish with the decor. We were greeted by a nice gentlemen, I believe he is the person I spoke to when I called to see if there were any available rooms. Checking in was fast and seamless. We were happy to see that it looked the same. Nothing much has changed except for the decor in the front and the items at the little shop. On our way to our room, the hallway floors were really loud. We saw what looked like a vent open, I'm guessing there's a water leak because there was a trash can on the floor. When we got to the room, we saw large cracks by the window and the a/c. It looked really bad, more than something that could be touched up. I'm not sure if it's structurally safe. Other than that, the room was clean and spacious. The bed was tall, where you can jump on it and super comfy. Definitely, had a good night sleep after a 14-hour drive. For the price and location, not a bad place to stay. I hope they are going to be doing some renovating in the future. read more

I have stayed at this hotel driving cross country. I will not stay at this IHG again. The price was 177.00 for a Monday night. The breakfast price 10.00 per person. For liquid eggs and turkey sausage. I was in room 306 first as you enter carpet frayed and ripped. The corner of bathroom mirror broken. The shower had broken tiles and the vanity caulking looked like a two year old attempt. The window never cleaned. Sad but this hotel gone to shit. read more

3.5 stars This hotel is part of new development along Interstate 40 (and conveniently located within walking distance of the Big Texan). Everything was clean, beds were comfortable, and bathrooms were huge. For the price, you would think it would at least include complimentary breakfast, but the hours are limited as well. Stayed here returning from a road trip. This location is kind of confusing. It looks new outside and in the lobby, but there are some cracks in the "new" facade. The front desk staff was fine, not overly friendly, but that's not a huge issue. The front desk person agreed to change our room, because we couldn't reserve the room we wanted online. Nice. She gave all the usual welcome type of things but I definitely did not feel any sincerity in her tone. Maybe other guests had been jerks? Not sure. We got to our room and walked in, we were wowed by it initially, but that changed quickly. There's still a standard air/heater near the window but there's left over sticky tape near the dial. There's a wall thermostat which doesn't work, all the controls are at the sticky unit itself. We tried to microwave some food, but the microwave was unplugged. Okay, easy fix, we plug it in and it works. Well, to a point, after a little while it starts making beeping noises. So we unplugged it again. Then went to turn on the tv, good luck with that. No remote control and it appears that the tv should pivot but doesn't. I called the desk and they brought up a tv remote (without wearing a mask) which was all taped together and only some functions worked. Okay so other impressions. We got a suite so we could sit in the small sitting area and watch tv. Unlike every other suite we've reserved, no tv in the sitting area. So odd, I guess you sit in the couch and stare at the wall (or the tv that doesn't pivot in the bedroom area). Now to the bathroom, the counter and sink area look brand new and beautiful, but then you look at the tub which is all scratched up with moldy looking grout. Okay I guess that's not the end of the world. Overall, for the price, it was an okay stay, but I wouldn't want to stay for long. One plus full continental breakfast that was wide open (unlike any of our other hotels where the hotel staff had to provide food. read more

We had reservations to stop here on our way to vacation in Colorado last November. It's a fairly new Holiday Inn and it's really nice and very clean. There was a mix up on our reservation and the room we requested was supposed to be a suite with two rooms, but what we wound up with was a room with a king bed!!! My wife who had made the reservations was a little miffed when the people at the front desk were hard to work with in getting it straightened out. We did not get the suite we requested, but were happy to get a room for the night as we had been on the road for a good eight hours already! The only consolation was that it was right next door to the "Big Texan Steakhouse" which had been on my bucket list for years! So our whole group walked next door to enjoy steaks and drinks after a long day of driving!!! read more

What a disaster at this place. First check was a 10pm nightmare. Tuck taking all the Peking and got stuck in the east back. (Did not feel safe). Found out they never honored my Priceline agreement and charged me again giving me smaller room and no breakfast that I had paid for When I tried to clear this all up at the front desk the team (Billie) was amazingly rude and told me nothin I could do but call Priceline. Call them again and they inquire why hotel did not honor their commitment. I could answer that..... Holiday make it right. We had a great experience at this full service Holiday Inn. It's beautiful, clean, and modern. The rooms are great. They have a full service restaurant and bar. The lobby is huge with plenty of space to hang out if you are with a group. We had an all day meeting and the staff was attentive and helpful. They have been open about 7 months and are working out a few kinks with events. Elvia was awesome! There is an express Holiday Inn close by so be careful when you book. read more

Great hotel to stay in. Coming from Colorado, I'd say this Holiday Inn isn't bad and the furnishings are relatively new. Staff was kind and helpful. Checking-in was smooth and got our rooms in no time. Room was clean, bed sheets felt new, and the room feels adequate. The bathroom had good lighting, nice showers and heating, and tiles feels good in the feet. They provide great hygiene products and has hairdryer powerful enough to dry your hair in no time. The architect of the building is somewhat weird. For instance, the elevator buttons are placed in odd places where it's less visible placed near the elevator doors where it doesn't even go to that elevator sometimes. In the room, there is a vanity mirror at the hallway that doesn't have lights but only in the sofa... The bathroom and closet shares door but I don't mind it too much, better to let it expose than forget anything in the closet. Parking spaces are plenty at this location and driving to the building isn't too difficult, GPS can pick it up easily. read more

I stayed at this place it is very close to the freeway yet no freeway noise and it's clean. I think the only negative thing I could say about this place is that the continental breakfast in the morning is a little bleak but not enough to knock it down a star because the spa made up for it. Naked swimmer soaking cyst in hot tub! Me, my spouse, and two children stayed one night. We booked through Priceline and we were also charged $113.85 by the hotel. I have made multiple requests for a refund. It has been 12 days since my stay and the manager will not call me to discuss correcting the billing error. Holiday Inn cooperation can not issue the refund, it has to be the site manager. I refuse to pay twice for a room period, let alone one that had drywall cut exposing pipes in our room, exposed bathroom ventilation, a loud train close enough that it kept us awake late a night, and naked woman in the pool while our 11 and 15 year old are eating breakfast. We saw it all. I heard her say to the staff that she wanted to soak her cyst that she thought may be infected before anyone else was swimming. My 15 year old was commenting on how nice it was to be able to see the pool while we ate then we saw her! She was completely naked soaking her cyst in the hot tub! read more

I've never stayed in such a nice hotel on my cross country trips but just saw it off the freeway and decided to stop in. Turns out it's the perfect location to eat at the steak house next door. The lobby is beautiful! The woman at the desk was very sweet. The room was gorgeous, super clean and very spacious. I loved all the toiletries they offered. The bed was soft and comfy! I was expecting this luxury hotel to be very expensive but the rate was comparable to a cheap motel so it was a no brained to stay in such a fancy hotel. I wish I could have stayed several nights to enjoy all the amenities. I have become a loyal customer from now on and will be staying here on my previous cross country trips. Cannot say enough great things about this hotel. The housekeeper was also very sweet. Great customer service and a great rate!!!! read more

So I'd have to say the place was amazing to sleep at . I was comfortable in the bed and it had a great atmosphere . Most of the employees were super nice . Night person not so much . Kinda rude maybe lack of sleep. Paid the $10 for breakfast . That was the worst breakfast I've pretty much I have ever eaten . You can't even choke it down without a gallon of milk to chase it . This hotel is only a year old! It is so new and fresh. The pool and hot tub was great! We stayed in the suite and have three kids. Our five year old stayed on the lounge part of the couch in our seven-year-old slept on the futon part of the couch. It was super great. The beds are nice and comfortable. The breakfast was great. Not like normal hotel food. And if you stay, you get free vouchers. The eggs were actually real eggs! The main server, Elvia, was 5 star server! Love her! The only reason I'm not giving it five stars is because when we got into our room it was 88° and the air was off. It took the whole evening until 9 PM to get to 74. read more

Sofa area but stuck in an unlighted corner.. only light source for the area is from a horrible glaring fluorescent ceiling light in the entry by the bathroom or from the reading lamps between the beds about12 feet away. makes the room feel like a cheap pay by the hour place. this "suite" is just an oversized room with a couch stuck in the corner, a single table with a metal chair -the kind you find stacked in the corner of hotel meeting rooms. good thing we didn't need to eat in the room or we would have to eat on our laps on the bed or stand at the table or share the single chair. Hotel is understaffed and common areas were dirty. Hallway on our floor looked like it hadn't been vacuumed in a few days. Also, the first room that they gave us keys for didn't work. After getting a second set that also didn't work, I returned them to the front desk and the clerk said "gee, I thought they had fixed that problem". So, they knew this room had problems but still assigned it to us. Room #2 was an "upgrade". It was an ADA suite, but was dirty. It had a broken shower chair in the bathroom and lots of water in the shower and bathroom. Back to the lobby we went, with all of our suitcases in tow. The clerk checked out room #3 for us before sending us up there, but that took about 15 minutes. When you're traveling and tired, you just want to get to your room. It was at least 30 minutes from our initial check in time before we were in room #3. The clerk was apologetic and said a manager would touch base with us, but that didn't happen (it's been over a week now!) We have stayed at this hotel several times in the past and we're disappointed in the lack in of cleanliness. The staff is pleasant, but are overworked and understaffed, especially in the cleaning areas. We will likely try a different hotel when staying in the Amarillo area. read more

So we got stranded in Amarillo on our way back from Colorado to central Texas. We had to get a hotel for the night because we were having vehicle issues... It was late, we had been on the road for 14 hrs. I didn't have time to check reviews... I wish I had. I have it 2 stars because the bed was incredibly comfortable (course I could be biased due to the snoozing in a bumpy car ride?) but you had to get past the hair and spots on the sheets. There was also hair in the shower and tangled in the curtains. No I didn't call the front, at this point I would've slept on the sidewalk. I just used my own pillow and blankets and slept above the covers. Hubby also checked out the hot tub and said it was maybe 99 degrees? Said it was just barely warm. Not hot at all. The bathroom shower also didn't get hot either. It was warm enough to shower with but you didn't stay in any longer than you had to or particularly enjoy it for fear of someone else's hair touching you. There was a broken coat hook and I forgot to take a picture of the bathroom with paint missing where it looks like they did a repair and speckled but didn't paint it. But the AC worked well! read more

This motel provides what I would expect from Holiday Inn Express. A clean room and environment with basic functional furnishings. Price is reasonable though not low. The stated full service restaurant on site has a basic menu with good, though somewhat routine food. Convenient though not full service but rather a buffet for breakfast. I'm still here and posting because im impressed with this place. For being a quick roadside, stop to shower and sleep they do an excellent job at taking good care of you. Nice pool and jackuzzi with thought put into your needs they lay out towls...breakfast is better than good...they give many hot options unlike other hotels. Two types of eggs and two types of meat and breakfast potatoes which is rare to find. The sausage and bacon are real and not some weird substitute.The rooms are super clean, and all hotel and room decor is well done. Great job...yesterday we stayed at a different Holiday Inn near alberquerqe and had a completely different experience. To be honest, we are about to stop using Holiday Inns. If you want to be near the big texan, this IS your hotel! We definitely will be back when driving through. Thank you for such a great stay! It was also nice that they honor veterans and government rates. All good. The only suggestion is maybe pool a tad warmer, I would have loved a morning or evening swim. read more

The hotel is doing a great job of observing COVID guidelines. It was very clean, staff were all wearing masks, and signage was up notifying guests about wearing masks and social distancing. Other guests were respectful of guidelines. The staff were courteous and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean and up to date. We got drinks at the bar to take back to our room. I was there on business but they charged my personal credit card hundreds of dollars. This hotel is the sorriest excuse of a lodging facility I've ever been to, and in my pre-COVID travel days, I've been to some pretty shady places. They're taking ZERO safety precautions (at least they were the night of June 26th), and I was NOT going to stay in this joke with my high risk family members. I called inside and cancelled our reservation upon seeing that the front desk associate had NO mask on. He was as unprofessional and rude as can be gave zero f's about it. They BILLED me anyway and refused to refund the total because they were not following corporate protocols for safety. They had the audacity to say I was lying, which you NEVER do to a guest. Which, I wasn't lying anyway. We ended driving straight back to central Texas from Colorado Springs because of their laziness and inconsideration to safety protocols. So, if you value your health and the like, find a new place to stay because this cesspool is a total joke. read more
