I stayed here last year and didn't have the greatest experience, but I decided to give it another try since it was the closest Marriott property to my location. The hotel is in a great spot, offering easy access to the interstate as well as many restaurants and shopping options. However, getting there can be a bit tricky, as the only turn into the property is about a block away, requiring navigation through the parking lots of several other businesses. I used mobile check-in, so I never had the opportunity to interact with the hotel staff. Reaching my assigned room was a bit of a challenge since maintenance chose to shut down the only elevator during peak check-in hours. Given that they appeared to be working on the elevator's tile floor, it didn't seem like an emergency and could have been scheduled for another time during the day. The room was modern, as the hotel had undergone a remodel within the past year or two. While the standard room was a bit small, it was still comfortable. Room cleanliness--my pet peeve--was okay. It was good enough not to warrant a complaint but certainly not an above-and-beyond effort. Overall, it was an average stay and an average experience. read more

Came out here b/c I was at the racetrack 30 minutes away. I don't know where to emphasize with this place. I have very mixed review thoughts. First - the staff, for real... they probably should emphasize customer friendliness. I'm not saying they were bad. As a matter of fact, they all helped me as requested. But it was done so pragmatically, I started to think I was offending them. It was just... "work is work here ya go" type feel. Now I don't need sparkles and rainbows for sure. But this was just odd. Room - it was visibly clean when I entered. However, they had one of those thermostats that was motion sensor controlled so the room was muggy, warm, and smelled a little odd. After the a/c kicked in things helped, however, it's just very uninviting coming to a dank room. Then the kicker was when you'd fall asleep and the unit would stop and the room would get slightly warmer. For anyone that does any bit of traveling, you know the best part of the room is cranking that a/c to make the room sooo comfy. Overall, it was decent. The morning breakfast was a continental with a few basic options. Nothing to write home about but also just enough to get something in your stomach and out the door. Would I stay again?? Idk.. maybe? This is a decent hotel that we stayed in while we were in Pittsburgh. The complaints that I guess I have is the workers were very frustrated and flustered when I came in I try to tell them it'll be OK but they were still not really happy at the moment for some reason. That being said there's also a large party that stayed in the hotel lobby the entire time partying and drinking I didn't know if that was really appropriate with children around but they were being very loud and partying The entire evening/daytime/morning in the lobby where breakfast is. The room itself was OK kind of small and Dungy for what you get the TV was pretty small and dark there's not a lot of light on the television. The bathroom also had a sewage smell anytime the water ran. So the good thing about this hotel is it is located very close to the mall Walmart target other things like that so it's in a good spot but overall not gonna stay here again read more

There is so much that is so off here. Things like: Only one luggage cart (and it's almost like a blood sport to get to it first) The bathroom door that won't close The TV that's too small for the room The ironing board that can't hang on the rack installed in the closet. The bathroom fan that doesn't run. The elevator that runs slowly. The breakfast bar that only serves sausage, bacon and wrapped muffins (no fruit, no cereal, no milk, no juice and nothing healthy). I am a vegetarian, and usually don't ask for anything special, usually I am fine with a hard boiled egg and fruit, but neither were available on the breakfast bar. No housekeeping offered for a stay less then 7 days (and even then you have to ask). I am sure Marriott would be pretty embarrassed of this dump if they knew. read more

Bottom line: I'd stay here again. Nice new Marriott hotel, next to Beaver Valley Mall, North of Pittsburgh Airport. Just off I-376 in Monaca, this one offers free morning breakfasts and comfortable lodgings. Parking lot is large and well lit, and the pool and exercise room are nice too. Laundry room with washer available, and most rooms have mini-refrigerator and microwave. read more

Glenn was an awesome Front desk staff. We drove 4 hours to get here and was just very helpful. We had a gathering with a few people in the Lobby with some relatives and they were very helpful in anything we needed. The rooms were very clean and had everything we needed. The staff was wonderful -- very responsive to an issue we had with the rooms. We checked on a cold January day and were issued a key to a very chilly room. We turned on the heat -- and nothing happened. We called the front desk, a maintenance person came up right away, saw that no quick fix would work for the heat, and helped us bring our luggage to another room which was chilly, but which we were told would heat up. We left the hotel for a family funeral and returned to a cold room. Once again we called the front desk, once again a maintenance person appeared right away and determined that there was no quick fix, and once again we were relocated -- this time to a room that was already warm. This relocation involved packing up the suitcases we had unpacked and my octogenarian self schlepping the luggage to yet another location which turned out to be ok. Again -- great staff, but unreliable HVAC. read more

This was my second stay at this property even with my loyalty to Marriott will probably be my last. Just very frustrated. I was told upon check in that I had been upgraded to a suite. Well the suite was a handicap accessible room, a far cry from a suite. It was also next to the hotel elevator and the noise was unbearable. My profile clearly states high floor away from elevator yet I was on the middle floor closest to the elevator. I should have complained so that's on me by I was tired and didn't want to go back down. The noise from above me and from the elevator made for a sleepless night. The room had obviously been exposed to water damage as was evident in the poorly repainted patchwork in the ceiling. The breakfast area is a typical Fairfield breakfast scrambled eggs, bacon, breakfast pastries, yogurt, oatmeal etc. not high end but I've had far better at other Fairfield Inn's. read more

Excellent working hotel. Beds are comfy and clean with at least one real pillow per bed. More if you ask. The washing machine (there is only one washer and dryer for all guests) broke during my stay- but was fixed by the next day. On a weekend. I have never seen a hotel fix something so promptly. Buffet breakfast is actually edible. Fruit is fresh. Proteins aren't microwaved rubber - pretty decent! Management will let you have milk/yogurt out of the breakfast fridge after hours if you ask. This sounds like a small thing but you wouldn't believe how many hotels guard it like sacred treasure. There is an exercise room and a pool, tho I didn't use either. There is also a dedicated smoking area with comfortable seats, which is a kind thought. All in all I was pleasantly surprised. read more

This place is overrated on Yelp right now. Fate recently brought me back here again, having first stayed at this Fairfield Inn three years ago, and unfortunately I have to report that the quality of the amenities has dropped. To get into the parking lot, one must first drive well past the hotel and then make a u-turn into the parking lot of a liquor store. Entering the hotel, the lobby leads to the front desk straight ahead and the dining area to the left. Off of the dining area there is a small patio. Just down the hall from the dining area is a pay-per-use laundry room, a pool, and a "gym." There is another patio off of the gym. I avoided the pool this past trip due to some sort of chemical issue. It looked blue-ish green. The "gym" is also a joke. It has two treadmills, one elliptical, and a rack of dumbbells (the heaviest being 45 pounds). Luckily, the "gym" is 24 hours, so I utilized the treadmills in the midnight hour to avoid the early morning rush. As for the rooms themselves, the building is beginning to age. The bathroom door would not close completely - it just didn't fit fully into the frame. Worse, the room was very humid and damp. I ended up raising the temperature in the room to keep it above the dew point (I kid you not, some of my papers were becoming wet from the moisture). The room also had a bad musty smell. Finally, the breakfast now is not as good as I remember it being three years ago. The sausages provided on my most recent trip were terrible; the cheese omelets reminded me of the microwavable Jimmy Dean omelets (and, frankly, the hot foot was probably microwaved). The bread products were not fresh, and the apple juice was watered down. Hopefully fate does not take me out to Beaver Falls a third time, but if it does, I will look for different lodging. read more

One selling point for staying at this new property in Beaver Valley is that you have to drive by a Wine Store/State Store to enter the parking lot of the hotel. That's a win-win. The hotel is fine and has everything you'd expect in a Marriott -- comfortable beds, clean bathroom, coffee maker, good free breakfast, and good free internet. Because the property is new, the bathroom door was too tight and squeaky. But, the front desk was right on it - and after my request for maintenance to 'oil' the door hinge -- the problem was solved. Recommended! Ask for a view of the church. Cemetery behind it offers solace and introspection on business travel and the meaning of life. read more

I'm a HUGE fan of the Fairfield Inn & Suites and I use them whenever I can when I travel for business. This place lives up to the chain's standards - everything is clean and the staff friendly. A shout out to Courtney at the front desk tonight - I asked if anyplace delivered for dinner and she said "I just put this list together today because people kept asking me that." She was a Godsend to me tonight after a long travel day and being held up in a traffic jam on I-80 for an unexpected hour delay. Check-in was quick and easy. DO NOT STAY HERE!! The person that cleaned our room stole $200 worth of stuff from our bathroom. When I confronted the hotels GM about it they said "there's nothing they can do and we can't prove that it was stolen!!" It was very poorly handled. I still have the VM she left me that was VERY unprofessional. She didn't even apologize or try to offer some sort of solution. read more

A guaranteed reservation at Fairfield Inn Monaca,PA means nothing apparently. Buyer beware. We were 8 minutes from campus and now we are over 40 minutes away. Never again. Front desk is useless. Oh, and they tell me about the change 30 min before I board my flight. read more

I put my brother and his family up there last night, they loved it. The room was clean, the entry/lounge area was well appointed and they raved about the breakfast. Fresh and newly renovated rooms/lobby. Great gym and they had an indoor pool. My only setback was that the check-in staff was not very welcoming. You'd go in and out of the hotel and maybe 1 of the 4 front desk ladies would say hi. The rest would just look at their screen and not greet you at all. At the end, the rooms were nice, clean and spacious. Plenty parking.I guess this could be a 4 star in Monaca but with my overall hotel experience, I'm keeping it a 3 due to coldness of staff. This is a newer hotel and housekeeping does a exceptional job at keeping the rooms and hotel clean. I also like the complimentary breakfast there is lots to choose from. The rooms are roomy and the bathrooms are as well. We had a couple problems with the room keys a couple times but the front desk was very accommodating and maintenance was very quick at fixing the problem. I stayed here for 6 nights while I was waiting for my apartment to get fixed after a fire the costs are about average for a Marriott hotel, but I would stay here again if I needed a short term or need a longer stay. read more

Have stayed here many nights and absolutely love it. Staff is super friendly and very helpful. The rooms are nice and have good amount of space, they come with a mini fridge and a microwave. They offer free breakfast daily, and free coffee (which is available 24/7). The pool is a nice size pool and exercise room is nice as well. They also offer washer and dryer. I would definitely recommend this to family and friends!! read more
