But...at some point, maybe in the restaurants......lower the music a bit.

As for the hotel itself...the casino is great. It's very spread out in my opinion. I didn't too much gambling, but I did do a lot of eating! And this place does not lack on the food variety. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert and late night dinner...they have it all. The room...Most of the rooms have a terrace balcony. Which is rare in Las Vegas. We had a fountain view of the Bellagio, but I imagine the views from the other side are just a good. The rooms are clean and very spacious. And the bed! Wow that was comfortable. I was looking forward to the Vegas version of this classic ride and I got it. Was it over priced? Yes. At the same time you get what you pay for. A fun ride around the camels in the Venetian Resort in Las Vegas. There was supposed to be an photographer taking our picture so we can buy at the end, but his camera malfunctioned so we didn't get the shot. This was a huge disappointment as I'm all about pictures and I really wanted the opportunity to see the glamorous shot the professional photographer took and if it captured the. Moment like i had I would have bought it. Fortunately we weren't totally relaying on him. We brought our own camera and took the perfect shot with the gondolier in the background and the bridge when you come out. It was perfect. You didn't have all the busyness of Vegas in the background. I'm overly thrilled with my photo, I got exactly what I paid for a fun ride and the perfect shot to frame and remember this day. And yes, I really did frame it and it sits on my piano. As long as you know what you're paying for, it's totally worth it. And now that you've seen my shot and know that it's taken at the end of the ride when you come out from under the bridge, you can get the same shot too. Have fun and enjoy Vegas and the Venetian. For the Hotel/Resort: The basic rooms here are better than the majority of other strip hotels. I personally think its top 3, even a small upgrade here gets you a very spacious room. I have stayed in the regular rooms and suites at both The Venetian and The Palazzo. The venetian rooms are more updated, but the Palazzo rooms are good too. The self parking has a lot of spaces but ingress/egress is easier at The Palazzo. However the valet parking here is faster compared to other resorts. The rideshare pickup/dropoff is good too. The casino floor is bright, clean, and good gaming variety. For the slots, I like that they have both old and new machines. I like the older "top dollar" and "run for your money" machines. I also like some of the new machines like KONG . They also have a great variety of video poker, blackjack, roulette, and craps! I have yet to play at the tables here but they have a good variety. The beverage service is good, but coverage/timing could be improved. I feel like some parts of the casino floor do not get as much service. They also have a great variety of food and restaurant options for all budgets. My personal favorite here is Estiatorio Milos. A close second would be SushiSamba. However, I have never had a bad meal here. I also recommend Sugarcane, Chica, Cote, and Smith/Wollensky. I still want to try the other options here! Overall great place to stay or check out. This trip was even better because they now have $5 top-shelf drinks (yes, you read that right ). We had plenty of drinks without emptying our wallets--which is basically unheard of in Vegas. There's a separate check-in area for The Reserve which I really liked. It was not crowded at all. Upon checkin, they gave me a coconut macaroon which was amazing! I did like that special touch. There are separate elevators going to the Reserve Rooms. However, it is still shared with some of the upper floors from Park MGM. I know that other hotels on the strip have separate elevators exclusively for separate parts of the hotel. I really enjoyed my Atelier room. It was a little bit larger than the standard room. The distinguishing factor about this room is really the bathtub in the room. However, the bathtub itself seems to be a liability for the hotel. I have to say that someone can easily slip and fall in the bathtub. Use extreme caution when using the bathtub. I loved the European french decor. The toilet was a little far away from the bed, but I suppose that is good if you are traveling with somone so when they went to the restroom, it would be less noticable (more privacy, less noise). Since they are hardwood floors, I can hear chairs being moved around from the rooms above me during my stay. I was a little bit irked. Other than that, my stay was quite enjoyable at The Reserve.

However, for those of us who come to Vegas often, staying at those hotels often means higher prices and headaches with navigating around the busy traffic. Having stayed at most of the larger hotels (The Luxor, The Bellagio, Encore at Wynn, Park MGM etc) I've had my fill of the dazzling lights and boisterous crowds. I do recommend you try these hotels at least a few times to truly soak in the bustle of Las Vegas night life. For me, I prefer to stay adjacent to, but not within, The Strip. This way, I can have some comfort in a quieter setting and can call an uber at any moment to meet friends along The Strip. This was the reason I chose Nirvana Hotel. Situated right next to The Luxor and The Mandalay Bay, it is both affordable and close to the attractions I come to Vegas for. The exterior is a bit off-putting at first. You aren't greeted with the pristine fountained welcome that you expect from Vegas--the wonderful precession of marble floors, the lush green plants, the ornate chandeliers. The main check-in station is inside the souvenir shop which resembles that of a run down gas station. Service is quick and the check-in process is painless. Their doors all use numbers so you don't have to worry about misplacing your card. Just don't get so drunk you forget! The room itself is very humble: queen bed, LG tv, two night stands, a small fridge, and a walk-in shower. Clean, organized, and arranged professionally. I will definitely stay here again. Connie was at the reception and welcomed me warmly. Parking is free. That's right. FREE. For your entire duration of stay.

Their pool is small and only gets sun from about 10am until 3pm because of their new tower. On Fridays Tons of amazing food options are offered here. Everything from fine dining to fast food; the Chart House (seafood), Red (sushi), Cadillac (mexican), The Grille (24-hour diner food), and a Chick-fil-A that opened until 2am Mon - Fri. Definitely book a table at Vic & Anthony's, arguably one of Vegas' best steakhouses. No toilet paper on the holder and only one roll on the shelf outside of the bathroom door. Hmmmm! The beds were not sharp and crisp to give the appearance of a freshly made bed. The shower was disgusting and I would never step foot in it. They were covered in mold with the paint peeling off the tub floor... So we had to walk all the way back to the front desk to change rooms. They have also started a self check in and check out kiosk system like Walmart. So to talk to a real person takes more time now. We got into our new room, which looked really nice the shower looked clean. But the shower doors were off track... we just dealt with leaving the doors open while showering. We stayed 3 nights four days. We had 4 regular pods for the Keurig machine. The friend with me drinks decaf, so we call down and ask for some decaf pods only to be informed it would cost us $25. We have 2 people for 4 mornings and we only have 4 coffees. They did give us 4 waters per day, which I really loved and appreciated but sorry, no coffee for one person and too bad if your body can't handle caffeine. I guess I should be grateful they gave us any coffee and didn't force me to pay $10 a cup at Starbucks, but come on... $8.25 for a coffee pod is outrageous. I will definitely try a different hotel on my next visit to Vegas downtown.

Mainly we've been popping in for the sports bar for all the sports that's been happening lately. It's a decent hotel and casino. Pretty affordable and you feel like you're getting your moneys worth. I don't know if rooms are updated as it's been years since I was last here. But they do have some nice restaurants along the cobble streets. More of a take out and find a place to sit restaurant, but pretty cool.
